Cheap Material

"So I wasn't at hot topic but my friend was and she bought me a pair of blue sunglasses from Hot Topic. Today I was in class (collage) and holding them and THEY **** BREAK! LIKE HOW!!! They are 'supposed' to be 'great material' but I place them in my **** HAND and they BREAK then when I get home after a long day of learning,THE OTHER **** SIDE BREAKS! So much for my BRAND NEW SUNGLASSES! Never telling anyone to shop there. **** CRUDDIEST STUFF EVER!!! Like Goodwill has better SUNGLASSES then hot topic"

No control of inventory

"Placed an online order when they had BOGO free on all clearance items. I ordered 2 of the same clearance item.
A few days later I get an email saying they canceled one item and are shipping one. So basically not BOGO free.
I check the site and the item is still on there in my size. I’m not going to risk reordering so I just accept that I didn’t get the deal I signed up for.
A few days later the item is finally off the site.
Then about a week and a half later it’s BACK on the site, my size available.
I call customer service, explain my situation, how I wanted the BOGO and this was the free item I never got etc..
The rep was nice and assured me yes, it’s in stock, in the correct size and she placed an order for me right on the phone with free shipping.
I was really happy about that part.
A week goes by order is still processing. I check every few days. Then one day it’s just canceled, no email call (lol) or anything!
I’m so disappointed in the company! They cannot manage their inventory. What terrible customer service.
I’ll NEVER, EVER shop there again. Too much competition with similar style items.

What a scam

"So for Christmas I was given two gift cards and wanted to spend a little money on myself for once. Okay yeah the shipping to canada is hella ridiculous but I picked things that were unique and couldn't find anywhere else for the price.

I had gotten two different orders. One with two bracelets, a sweater, necklace and a makeup palette. The other was two nightmare before Christmas bags (it was buy one get one for 1$) I was super excited for that one, I loved both bags.

And after waiting for a week, a dragon bracelet from the first order was apparently "out of stock". I've read about other people's experiences with HT online, so I wasnt shocked.

But was **** me right the **** off was one of the nightmare before Christmas bags I got for the 1$ all of a sudden was "out of stock". Like seriously???? What a strange coincidence a 50$ bag I got for 1 $ isnt available when on the site it clearly was. They have no shame in taking the money minutes but have an issue giving it back. So typical. And just a scam. Honestly. I just want my **** already. I'm over this company.
I have also gotten the tracking number for the first order. Not working no surprise.
This company and its failure of a system and website is just sad. A waste of my hard earned money. I didnt mind spending it because the items I get are unique but it's just pure bs. Even Ebay has a better system although it might take months for your item to come.

Don't shop here online

"I bought three tshirts online. I received them pretty quickly but one of the shirts was totally wrong, and a second one was the wrong size. I needed them in time for Christmas so it messed me up because there was no time to get the new ones shipped out. Contacted Hot Topic by email and asked for them to pay the return shipping since it was their error and they said no.
I think this place is run by 15 year olds... would advise online shoppers to avoid it completely.

Shipping and costumer service is absolute ****

"I ordered 2 shirts that were on sale on 11/23/2018, and one of those was a birthday present. I was very excited to receive them but then it started taking way too long. After about two days of ordering, I got an email saying that my package shipped, but it was on the pre-shipping status for over a month. I decided to call and had a terrible experience with their costumer service. When I first called it sounded like Poppy was on the line and it took me a while to finally talk to someone after about 15 minutes of them playing some emo music. Once I finally got to talk to someone, I had a very hard time understanding what the person was even saying so I didn't figure out what happened to my package but I'm assuming they didn't ship it. I got a refund (I'm not even sure if they have returned my money yet) and decided to try buying those 2 beautiful shirts again because I doubted that they'd do the same **** 2 times in a row. I waited two days so that I could track my order, and there's something wrong with the tracking number so I swear to **** God if I'm gonna have to call back and listen to some **** LGBTQABCDEFG music just to get another refund I'm gonna be extra ****. I'm never shopping at this emo store again and I wouldn't recommend it."

No package for Christmas

"I ordered a couple of items online on 12/17 and paid extra for the Express Shipping to receive by 12/20. According to the tracking I received via email, Problem is, label was made but not picked up yet for delivery. Emailed Customer Service on 12/21 to find out why I didn't get my package. On 12/23, finally get an email saying that the package is on the way and should receive in 72 hrs. Okay, cool so I will get the Christmas gifts just after Christmas. 12/27 called Hot Topic (Oh by the way don't do the call back option; they don't call back wait on hold as long as it takes) and they tell me my package is lost and now the items I ordered, are out of stock!! WTF!!! You mean, If I did not call, I'd still be hanging and you would still have my money?!? Telling me it takes 3-7 days to get my money back... ****!!! You were able to take my money within 24hrs, and you're telling me you can't give it back to me in the same amount of time??? Their E-Commerce ****!!! If you want the convenience of shopping on-line, this IS NOT THE STORE to order from on-line. Go to the Store instead. It's better to walk in the mall than go through this headache of their on-line store."

Constant cancels, theft of hotcash

"I ordered last month. After weeks of no e-mail updates, it was canceled. The item was still in stock. I re-ordered and it was sent. I then made another order, using $10 of hotcash. The order was canceled. Hot Cash was not refunded. And that same item was back up on the website. Not out of stock. I am done with this scam of a website."

Never notified me that my order was delivered to the store

"I bought shirts on 11/16/18 that I had shipped to the store which I got an update a week later that it is still processing. It's been over a month now since I ordered my items so I decide to check on it to see what the problem is. Come to find out through customer service that it was already delivered to the store which I told the rep that I NEVER gotten a notification so he tells me to call the store. I call the store where I had it shipped to which the employee told me that it was delivered over a week in a half ago and that they were going to return it but I NEVER got any notification that it was there. Luckily she will let me come pick it up which I will do so after work but I'm upset that I didn't get any word about my order until I had to call about it. "

"I have been waiting on a item, for little over a month now. For it to be repeatedly keep getting cancelled yes, hottopic i'am aware that this item is "out of stock" i have had numerous representatives explain this to me. Also i have gotten a bunch of different feedback each time, such as "don't cancel the item when, we get it back in stock we will ship it." "It is on its way. And should be there soon." Online shopping with them is a sham.

"Ordered with them online 11/16/18, they had a sweet sale going on. Picked up 6 t-shirts for around 60 bucks. I was excited and 2 days later, on 12/18/18, I got the email my package was shipped.
So now it's mid-December, I was thinking that maybe they were just busy and shipping takes longer sometimes...
Checked my UPS tracking number and the shipment was CANCELLED 12/7/18...
Yet their email to me claims it was shipped on the 18th of the previous month. They STILL have my money and I was never updated by email to let me know of this. I've been reading a few places and apparently of you use a coupon or shop a special deal they won't honor it and cancel your order.
I'm so **** because I ordered a month ago and never received a refund OR my order. I waited all have for the sale and I'm sure when I actually speak to someone they will try to sell to me at full price.

Ordered thanksgiving night, po box delivered dec 14th dirty

"Skellington blanket and other Rick and morty blanket split into 2 orders, the white one is horribly messed up and forever stained black unless cutting the outer sherpa off. I dont understand how though because the bag wasnt ripped, and it was on the inside of a halfway box clasp and plasticwrap from hot topic. No mailcarrier error this time, just slow and dirty workers apparently is all i can think of. Give a better reason why and email me for pictures of the gift due. To kids that i have to clean and cut for xmas. LOL "
