"So this is my first time ordering stuff from Hot Topic and I was very disappointed in it. So on Cyber Monday this year 2018, I ordered a Slytherin locket that was on sale. It has been almost 1 week and 3 days, I have not received my item yet. On the side it says that my order would be here within 4 to 10 days I live in Florida. So I emailed the customer service about it, and they say that they could not locate their item in their warehouse so they will have to get the item from out of their house to ship it to me. I was so confused because they did not notified me about it at all and he was supposed to be a gift for a friend birthday, which sadly had already passed and the item never show up yet. The status still said that it is processing. This is the first and the last time that I will order stuff online from Top topic when I could buy the same thing off of Amazon and we definitely get it in two days. Buyer beware."
"First off, I have to say that I have been a loyal customer to Hot Topic for YEARS, but that has changed as of today! I am so frustrated right now, because of this awful situation! So I made an online order yesterday, and according to the website, the shirt was in stock. So what happened is that I got an email today (the next day after I placed the order), and I was told that my order had been cancelled! And I wasn't even given a reason as to why! I know my credit card has sufficient funds, because I wouldn't have paid for it if I didn't have the money. So I was very confused and frustrated to say the least. So I had to call customer service and I was told by the representative that apparently the shirt that I ordered was OUT OF STOCK! I was telling him it clearly wasn't saying that on the website, because it showed that there were 3 shirts left in my size AND they had already charged my credit card! The rep. kept saying that the website is not live, so it is possible that the shirt was already out of stock before I bought it, but that wasn't the case because I even refreshed the website and checked how many shirts are available in my size before checking out and there were still some left! Now Hot Topic HAS MY MONEY and I don't even have my shirt! The rep. said that I should get my money back in 5-7 business days! I was like WHAT?! Why should I have to wait to get my money back and I am apparently not even getting my shirt! My advice to new or loyal customers would be to NEVER buy your items on the website in order to prevent the same situation. Just buy from your local store if you really want to, but honestly I know that won't do that either! And another thing, one time I order another shirt not long ago and my online order took over 2 weeks to arrive, and I live in the U.S.! This treatment is very unacceptable! Hot Topic I am SO DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, and if I could give you guys zero stars I would. Shame on you guys! "
"This store is a joke. I tried purchasing online, and they cancelled my order. They said someone with my address had a charge-back. I NEVER had have a charge-back. So they have banned EVERYONE at my address from making a purchase online. What a joke. I have called several times, to see what is going on. And all they say is the system will cancel any order associated with my address. WHAT A JOKE."
"Even though they have few stores in Ottawa, they do not ship to them....I called and they said Hot Topic ships to homes in Canada only but not to stores. Too bad, they lost a sale. "
"I've had the worst experience ever. I was at a Hot Topic store and the cashier ordered me some shorts off their webs site since they didn't have them in stock. I payed with a gift card. Well I never received my order. When trying to take care of this problem i have had nothing but a run around between the store and the hot topic customer service. Then finally I told the moneys being put back on my gift card. I check it 11 days later and it's still not on their. So i call customer service again to find out it wasn't put back. So I'm told the refund will be put back on in 5-7 business days once again. So its taken me almost 4 months to get my refund back. I would tell anyone don't do a ship to store because if you don't get your order it's a hassle to get a refund."
"Never, ever order online from Hot Topic, especially if you need a product for an upcoming occasion. I ordered some socks to be used as prizes for my work Halloween party THREE WEEKS before they were needed. It took Hot Topic over two weeks JUST to ship the order, and of course, every customer service rep gave me the runaround. To make matters worse, when they finally did ship, I never got a tracking number. I called their 1-800 number and was told that something was wrong and the product would need to be shipped all over again. I can't tell you how many times that guy put me on hold and forced me to listen to 21 Pilots for several long minutes.
This is some of the worst customer service and customer fulfillment I've ever seen in my life. What a disaster of a company."

"Do NOT order things online and expect to get them anytime soon. Although they send emails out to their "HT guest list" stating that if you order by a certain time, you can receive your order by a certain date; those are lies! They create shipping labels and either don't box your orders until they feel like it, or they just have packages sitting there in the warehouse until they feel like sending them out.
I have ordered a lot of items online in the past, and shipped them to the store. Those orders have taken several weeks to about a month later. They do not always package your complete orders together, so you also need to make sure that you receive your complete order before leaving the store.
I ordered some items for a Halloween costume. According to their emails, they stated that if you order by 10/19 11:50pmPST, standard shipping you will receive the package by 10/30. So I ordered my items on 10/18 Guess what? I am not receiving it until 11/01, 2 days after when it was supposed to arrive. Fed Ex received the information for their shipping label the next day 10/19, but it did not go out until 6 days later.
I continually kept checking the shipping status, and FedEx was still waiting for the package. I called customer service, and spoke with George, and he could not do anything. Once the package finally leaves their warehouse they have no control over the package. He also tried to 'act' confused as to when the package went out. I was looking at the FedEx package tracking information, and he was stumbling on his words as to when the package went out. Be warned! Do NOT order online and expect your order any time soon.
I also called Fed Ex to see if there was something either I or the POS Hot Topic company could do to expedite the delivery, and unfortunately they said that they could not change the status delivery of the order. The FedEx representative was also more apologetic than the HT customer service rep. FedEx also confirmed that they did not receive the package until 10/24. HT has Horrible Online customer service!!!"

"So after i ordered a few pops from Hot topic (my own stupid mistake) i got all the pops except one. Paid for 6 got 5. I called hot topic to say i didnt get it, and if they can ship it, they said they don't have anymore nor tell me how something like this happened. They offered a free shipping and 15$ of of my next purchase which was nice so i ordered a few more items (one was the horror mystery box) that was in stock then and now (4 days later) and in addition, the order was placed while a hot topic agent was on the line with me confirming that it's in fact in stock.
4 days later get an email saying the mystery box is unavailable to fulfill. I called again talked to a supervisor name Nelson that said that is happening everytime in their company and that item can be out of stock in the werehouse but in stock on the web site.
I told him its even in stock now (4 days later) how could it be? He said it make sense and offered me 13$ GIFT CARD WITH NO DISCOUNT ON THE SHIPPING!
That's less then the first time and the shipping to country I'm currently in is around 30$ so i end up paying 32 dollars for a 15 dollars pop.
So for future reference, be aware of Hot Topic, they'll try to scam you and if you are on to them they will offer you less than what you spent just to get rod of you. "
"I have bought from Hot Topic a few times online and everything went smoothly, from processing and shipping to how my things looked when I got them. I always got an email saying when they shipped and it was always very quick, it would only take a day or so to get it on its way to my house.
A week ago I ordered a union suit from the online store and decided to get it shipped to the local store so I wouldn't have to spend a lot on shipping. I got an email saying they got my order that day and that it would be on its way soon. For the past week I kept looking online for the order details and it is stuck in "in process", it hasn't charged my paypal yet. This morning I checked and it said it was still in process and that it shipped this morning but I didn't get an email with that information and there is no tracking number either. A week later I would have hoped it had actually shipped by now or that I would be contacted as to why it is still in processing."
"I was a very loyal customer to Hot Topic's website. I've ordered from them hundreds of times over the last few years and never had a problem until last month. I ordered $138 in body jewelry and I waited 2 weeks and my order still said 'in process' when I would check it so I decided to email them.. it took 2 days for a response and they apologized and said it would ship within 1-2 business days. I'm just over here thinking 'bro, shouldn't it have shipped at least 2 or 3 days after my order was placed?' I mean, I work with the public so I know how it is when customers complain about stuff that could easily have been fixed or prevented.. I hate to be that person but goodness, $138 is a lot of money. Anyways, my order arrives within 3 to 5 days and everything is there. I decide to order again about a week later because some new septum rings went up that I thought were cute. Oh, and I also got a pack of nose rings only to have to go through the email process, yet again!!! Then come to receive another email stating that 'part of my order has shipped'. The septum rings were completely fine but a day or so later, I got another email saying my nose rings were cancelled. I also ordered a pack of nose hoops and one was missing out of that. Talk about a bummer and a half. I'm not sure if I will shop on the online store anymore or not because the closest Hot Topic is 3 hours away.... The online store could be great but cancelling orders when they're 'out of stock' but up for sale on the website is completely uncalled for and not to mention, the horrible shipping process. "

"I bought something for my husband on the 15th for an event on the 30th . Store told me that it was going to be here in plenty of time. So it was fine. Says it would take 7-10 business days to ship to home and 14 days for store, so obviously I shipped to home. Was shipped via FedEx and then transferred to USPS who can now not find it! This is the 28th and I do not have this order for my husband!!!!! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HOT TOPIC ONLINE EVER AGAIN!!!!! I will be taking this to social media as well cause buyers need to beware!!! "I bought a grab bag, from these people and it said there were three things inside only to find too, when I went back to ask, they said the sh*t felt bag was the third item and it’s supposed to be “dragon ball themed”.
