Very poor and bad customer service from Cashier in Woodbridge, VA store

"If it has zero star, I will rate it as zero star. I was deeply disappointed from the customer service from Cashier (cashier id number: 20050852) that I received from Woodbridge store in my last visited. I noticed the total amount was higher than I expected and asked the cashier to looked into the screen to verify. She refused to do so and told me that she just scanned everything I gave her, and pushed me to complete the transaction. She said that I can read on the receipt to check the items. After I read on the receipt, I notice there were couple items were not belong to me, and told her, she asked me to match the bar code one by one, and refused to help or call store manager to assist. I knew that none of the items that I picked was these amount listed on my receipt and something must not right. I went strange to the return center, the lady in return center called help from store manager and solved my issue and credit back to me. I went back the Cashier and told her that she did over charge on my receipt that items were not belong to me. She was rude and raised up her voice very loud to talk to me. It wasted me a lot of time correct her mistake, and if she could pay attention and be patient what I told her and correct her mistake in the first time I told her. It won't waste a lot of time from me and the people whom were waiting for help in the return center. She need professional customer service training before she can take this job. The customer service like her only pushes customers out of door without return. As a worldwide store like Ikea, it desert better trained employee, not her, not like her."

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! THE WORST EXPERIENCE

"Worst customer service I have ever had!! I am pretty sure I've had better experiences at the DMV. Avoid them at all costs!!

They refused to rectify my issue despite the fact that it was as a result of Ikea's incompetent staff. I ordered a couch online. The day of delivery the couch wasn't delivered, but they were courteous enough to send me just the legs and covers (sarcasm). When I called they said that the couch itself was on back order! At no point in the process did I ever get any sort of notification about this. They issued a refund for the the undelivered item but forced me to go to their physical location to order and do home delivery. Once I got there they no longer had any home delivery services going out that day and I had to wait until the next day to get the couch delivered. Why is this a big deal? That day I was expected to host an event at my new place with friends and colleagues, some who went out of their way to make it. Because of this incredible inconvenience caused by Ikea, I had to cancel the event last minute, which was very embarrassing.

More over, I wasted hours of my time and spent transportation money I wouldn't have otherwise, going to the location to place the order + home delivery. I had also brought the seat covers with me to swap out for a different color. The next day once I got the couch and tried to put on the new seat covers - it turned out that the rep had given me seat covers for a left sided couch when I had ordered a right sided couch!!!! HOW INCOMPETENT ARE YOU IKEA?!?!?! This required me to go back FOR A SECOND TIME!!!

On top of all this, Ikea is refusing to make me whole for all the additional out of pocket expenses it has cost me to rectify the mistakes of their incompetent staff and service. Good job Ikea - you have lost a customer!

My worst online shopping ever. I feel fooled and robbed.

"My husband and I went to my local College Park,MD IKEA store to buy a sectional sofa. We had some hesitation and store clerk told us that we can place our order online and "it is all the same". And assembly cost $40 if we order the delivery to our house. We recently bought another couch from IKEA store and it was exactly like this - we paid delivery and couch was put together at the time of delivery for $40 by the third party delivery company.
So September, 17th we placed our another order online on IKEA website. September,25th I contacted IKEA customer service about delivery and assembly service, but I was sent to the third party delivery company. I called to this company and SURPRISE, this company doesn't provide assembly service at the delivery time. As I was told they could do it "couple of days later after delivery" and for the price "started 89 dollars".
I contacted IKEA customer service again about the assembly cost and was told that they have nothing to do with IKEA website. That they can cancel my order, but I will loose the delivery money ($139). Because they have nothing to do with delivery company. So I was put on the position to overpay more than twice for an assembly or loose money I paid IKEA for delivery.
Dear IKEA, if you have nothing to do with your IKEA website and have nothing to do with delivery service working for IKEA , please don't take my money under IKEA name. I paid my money to the trustworthy brand and now dealing with people who has "nothing to do with IKEA".

POANG Chair disaster

"I recently bought POANG chair online and while assembling it I realized that nuts that are inserted in the wood are of such bad quality that it's almost impossible to tighten the screws without stripping the thread. I ended up going to Home Depot and purchasing nuts and bolts to finish the job. When I called customer service I was on hold for 20 minutes without anyone picking up. This is ridiculous! How many more thousands of people are having the same problem because IKEA is manufacturing low-quality furniture in China? Never again I will buy anything from this company. Screw you too, IKEA!"

Love love love the store!

"I happen to have moved to a city recently where Ikea has a store. I went there since I have always heard about Ikea and wanted to check it out. The place is like a "Disney World" of retail. Everything is laid out perfectly and you walk through the store and enjoy the different things to see. The prices are great and, because I live on a boat, the furniture is easy to load and unload in your vehicle and get into your home. I joined the Ikea family and get free coffee or tea each time I visit. Of course, you have to put together your furniture but it is a small price to pay for the convenience of loading and unloading! What a terrific concept. I only wish more stores were this well organized. I will definitely continue to shop here."

"Wow they stink! Their customer service department is the worst! 40 minute wait to talk to anyone. From the beginning we made it clear that the order could not be delivered after 5PM our building doesn't allow it. After calling twice and spending a hour and a half on hold, we were told no problem they would send a note to the delivery company. The day before the delivery the trucking company calls and says they will deliver between 3 and 7 we tell them must be before 5. They say ok. Next day we call to confirm - the trucking company says they can't do this - we are the last people they are delivering to, and we should have let them know 48 hours in advance. We tell them we did. They say we don't read the notes Ikea sends they are too busy. I call Ikea and wait on hold for another 40 minutes. Ikea calls the trucking company and the company tells them that they will try but they can't say they will deliver it before 5 and if they can't they will come back Monday. I inform Ikea - my husband took off work for the delivery, I have been on hold for 50 minutes at work, I have no couch in my living room, because I threw mine out last night since I was told I would receive my couch today, and neither my husband nor I can take Monday off. I then ask to speak to a manager, who is the first person to apologize, however he destroys this, when he proceeds to say that the trucking company is a 3rd party company and isn't really Ikea's fault (who hired the trucking company, who took my money, who is paying the trucking company? Ikea! Yes! it is Ikea's fault!!!!!) then the manager proceeds to inform me that I am overreacting, since we don't really know if the couch will be delivered or not. He continues in this vein and insists that I am wrong and he is right. I will never shop at Ikea again."

"My very first experience with Ikea was decidedly negative. To get a better discount online, I signed up with "Ikea Family" and received an email confirmation. But when I tried logging in with my ID, the website didn't recognize me. So I called customer service and waited online twice for about 15 min. before hanging up. This company doesn't give a S*** about it's customers. Nice looking stuff at reasonable prices. But now, I too don't trust them."

"They are the worst in oonline ordering. They will just take your money and will never give you status on when your order will arrive. You will have to repeatedly call them to take status. They will also not cancel your order for poor service. Very very very poor. They don't even care. This is the last time i have ordered from Ikea USA"

"Ordered a number of small to medium sized items online from IKEA.com, to save time and not have to go to the store. Shipping was expensive. Upon receipt, items were very poorly packed, and 2 of the items were damaged. I called the IKEA 800#, and after holding for 20 minutes, was told I had the wrong department (the ikea.com email confirming delivery and asking for a call within 48 hours in case of damage has the wrong info for the voice prompts). After an internal transfer, the system told me that my hold time was approx 240 minutes.... how is a 4 hour hold time in any way acceptable?? I left my number for a callback. Never received a callback. Will be taking this issue up with my credit card company.

"I have ordered 2 wadrobes from Ikea on thursday,to be delivered on friday between 2pm-9PM,Took a day off and waited all day,around 5pm staff from the store rang me to say that they cant deliver on froday but promised on the next day which is Saturday 2pm-9PM,So i went to do my shopping in the moening,around 11am the van driver rang me on my mobile and said that he is waiting outside my house with the item!doesn't make any sense,he is supposed to ring me an hour before the delivery,so i tried to explain the situation, but the driver kept on argueing with me saying that he didn't known about the allocated time slot for me,in the end he said thst he cant do anything about this and asked if he could leave the item with my next door neighbour which i refused as i moved into this flat few days ago and not familiar with anyone in the area,iam still waiting,i dont know when this product arrive. Please keep away from this shop,vwry poor service. Wasted my £25."

"I ordered a small shoe cabinet which arrived damaged (after almost 2 weeks).
I called Ikea Customer Service number. After 20 minutes someone picked the phone and told me that they can't help and will transfer me to another agent. After another 40 minutes a store employee picked up the phone and offered me to go to the store and get a replacement part - an option totally unacceptable for me. So I tried email - sent 2 emails, no reply in 4 days so far.

Today (9/1) I called again and was told that the wait time is 60 minutes?!?

I am truly amazed by the atrocious customer service and I am fairly certain that I won't be shopping at IKEA ever again.

"Home delivery and ensuing customer service at the Atlanta store is disorganized, unresponsive and unreliable. Having purchased two beds and accessories from the Atlanta store, we have had two attempted but incorrect and incomplete deliveries and a third delivery promised but unrealized. Each promised delivery required blocking out 4 hours of our lives and I have spent eight hours of my life on hold waiting to try and report and resolve the issues. This totals 20 hours to try to get a satisfactory resolution to ikea's non-performance. Now I have been told I need another customer service ticket and must wait 72 hours again to get a returned phone call to let me know they will investigate the non-delivery of items. Do not use ikea's home delivery service."

"I had the online customer service experience of my life today with Ikea. I had ordered a mattress via phone a week ago (because their online ordering service was not working). I specifically requested that the mattress be delivered one week later, which was the earliest time that they could do it. I find out today, a week later, that Ikea instead scheduled the delivery for a week later - so two weeks after I ordered it, although I was very explicit about needing the item sooner rather than later. Today, I am on the phone trying to get an earlier delivery, which I have been told is very unlikely. I have been on hold so far, for a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes and have no idea if this will get resolved at all reasonably. I am furious and very unlikely to shop at Ikea again. This is the worst customers service of my life."
