"Ours are still caterpillars, but looking forward to butterflies. The only negative I would say is that you purchase the kit, and then have to pay another $5 for the insects... should all be included in the purchase price, even if that means you need to increase the purchase price a bit...

"The catepillers arrived in our mailbox - at first we thought they were dead, but then all 5 were moving and eating, couple of days later they started their metamorphosis - it appears ONE died while forming the cyrsallys. 4/5 alive isn't bad considering we live in Florida and I bet our mail delivery was very rough, I mean a couple of them were buried in the food! My son is very excited about these & we hope to have butterflies shortly!"

"I have been very pleased with insect lore. I bought it for my grandaughter but I equally enjoyed the experience of watching the ladybug larvae transform into full grown ladybugs. Ladybugs are very beneficial in gardens as they eat the bad bugs so it was an extra bonus for me because I dont like to use pesticides. We kept the ladybug land and ordered refills. One word of caution, they ship quickly so you must keep an eye out for the mail. Our over all experience has been very good and I would recommend insect lore to everyone. Its a good learning experience and good for the environment. We are considering getting the butterflys next. "
