However, when the tiny larvae arrived in Alaska they weren't moving. I was afraid that they hadn't survived the long trip. After reading the information booklet that came with them, we put the container in a quiet place and left them alone. It didn't take too long to see movement from all five of them! It has been a little over a week and we have been amazed to see their rapid growth! These little critters have been voracious eaters the last few days and have grown incredibly fast! Today, they have started attaching themselves to the lid of the container. We can't wait to see their transformation into butterflies! Our whole family has been enamored in watching their development. This has been a wonderful experience!! As my son's birthday is in May, ordering the larvae will probably become a yearly tradition for us. The habitat folds flat when not in use, so it will be easy to store.
