"I received a partial shippment. I ordered 2 120mm case fans and a PSU sleeving kit. I only received the PSU sleeving kit. I have not received my fans. I checked my CC and no adjustments have been made. I already left email and left 2 voice messages on their support line. I still have not received a response or a refund. Im writing this review so that other people dont get screwed. I can understand mistakes being made but ignoring the customer completly is not the way to run a business. It just leads me to believe that they are just out to steal from their customers. I hope this serves as a warning for future customers."
"So I ordered a cooling system for my laptop on April 1, 2004. Well it's officially May and no word on the cooling unit. I tried using the only customer service listed, but they have yet to respond to me, which is now reaching a week's time. If I had the choice in buying from Extreme Alterations again or eating off my own leg, I think I'd go with eating off my own leg. At least then I know what I'm getting beforehand."

"After reading there claim that 99.9% of their orders are shipped within 24-48 hrs. I decided to order a case. First contact from them was the day it was ordered claiming a mistake in the shipping cost and asking for an additonal $10.00 which I sent via Paypal (which was also the method used to make full payment at time of order)I did however say I was not at all happy about the extra charge. To their credit they did refund the $10. The main problem has been trying to get information. Communication is apparently not part of their service. After 5 days I was finally able to hear that because I ordered a "custom case" there is some sort of mystery grace period. It has been 7 full days since the order was placed and it is still listed as "pending". How long can it take to install a couple windows and a few fans? I'm beginning to wonder if they even have the parts available to sell what they have advertised. they have some wonderfully sounding "policies" none of which I have seen demonstrated. I'm starting to worry that if I ever do receive anything they will send me a piece of junk in retaliation for this review. BUYER BEWARE. Shortly after posting this I received the following ... "Your almost ready to go! They guys are completing all the installs and we are packing up your order. In response to the delay you have had to experience, I will be personally refunding your money for one of your cables as a token of our appreciation of your cooperation." The refund amounted to $6.00 perhaps this might have a happy ending after all, if so I will amend this review accordingly.
U3/16/04 UPDATE: after receiving an email on 3/10/04 claiming that the item was shipped and even given a false (fed-ex) tracking number; i contacted Fed-ex who says they never received the item. Today I received the following : "Okay. There is another customer that ordered the same case you did at the same time.. I have been looking this issue over, and I'm still not complete.
We have a team of custom designers that do all of our customer case orders separate from our warehouse. They sent over that tracking number, and I'm still trying to figure out why nothing is showing up when we enter in the tracking information.
If I don't notice any updated information showing on your tracking number in the next 12- 24hrs, I will future investigate this issue. We have NEVER had this problem in the history of our business.
I assure you, that once you receive your custom case, you will be very pleased and will agree that it was been worth the troubles. Thus, I do apologize for your delay. I have already personally refunded you for one of your cables you order with your case, and I am now going to issue you a $5.00 store voucher towards the next purchase with us. You will receive an e-mail with all the information on how to apply this discount on your next purchase.
Once again, I appreciate your cooperation, and I assure you, you will receive one great case!!

UPDATE 3/18/04 This is the latest excuse I've received "Okay, this is were we are. Got to the bottom of it today. Both you, and another customer both ordered the exact same items, and the same thing happened to both orders. I found out, that somehow, the order was routed back to us because of some error.
I got off the phone with the guys just a little while ago, and we are going to have your custom modded case with your accessories shipped out again tomorrow, and you will receive it in 2-3 days.

MARCH 22 JUST AS I EXPECTED, THE CASE FINALLY ARRIVED TODAY. IT WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED. THE CASE I RECEIVED HAD NO TOP WINDOW AND NO TOP FANS. NO THUMBSCREWS IT WAS NOT WHAT THEY SHOW ON THERE WEB SITE. THE CASE WAS VERY CHEAP LOOKING THE FRONT COVER COLOR DID NOT EVEN MATCH THE CASE. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE FRAUD."
"I have ordered 4 times from Extreme Alterations (3 times in the past month or so), and let me tell you, I have NEVER had a problem with them, unless a product was not on hand. To PAEA, the one below who asked if anyone lived in Kentucky: I live in the same city that Extreme Alterations is in. I've never had a problem with them.
To the person who was complaining about waiting on paypal: You must remember that some companies wait till an order's transaction on paypal has completed and __CLEARED THE BANK__. I know many eBay seller's do this also. This is most likely company policy.
Also, to the people who don't get their emails, check to see if it was blocked in a spam filter. You never know when you're complaining about something you did.
