"I got it so ya know that was pretty good"
"I bought a doll on 7/21/17 and it's now 8/9/17 and haven't gotten it . It said to give 9 days for shipping and 3 days for processing. I spent 50 dollars on this doll fory 2 year old. I will NEVER buy off this site off again."
"It arrived in time for my grandson's birthday!"
"I waited over a month just to hear back from customer service... and I STILL got nothing! Lol. No one via phone OR email OR facebook.
I wanted to cancel 2 preorders that Kirin Hobby still had not recieved the shipment for. The items were still listed as Preorders. So I contacted them on June 24th, 2014. I sent emails, left voicemail, wrote fb comments (which they have NOW deleted...either that or I am now blocked from their fb page and can not see anything...I can not comment on their posts anymore either to give fellow customers an update on my experience), sent them a fb message (which they never read), and I got nothing back for weeks. Mind you, no holiday was going on.
I finally opened a dispute with my bank on July 10th, after I emailed Kirin Hobby warning them, and left a voicemail warning them and got no response from them. Nothing happened. It was a waiting game for pretty much all of July.
Now, today, August 3rd 2017, I decided to check my KH account to see if the products had finally been canceled. They had been canceled, on July 28th with a comment "dispute received". ...That's it. That little comment was all I got from them. I'm STILL getting their email newsletters which I've TRIED to unsubscribe from, but they could not send me a reason why they'd been absolutely unresponsive OR an apology?
I can't really give them another chance after this experience... I've already found a better "fish in the sea" so there's really no reason to. "
"I pre ordered product so i wasnt expecting to get it duper quick. However several months after the product was released i still had no update on my order. Once i did receive an email about my order status being changed from pre order to processing due to the item ariving. It then took a week for the item to be marked shipped. Then a week for item to arrive. To be clear i never tried to contact them due to other revies on thier customee service. Over all 2 out of five because i got what i wanted cheaper than anywhere else that had the same item. Just dont be in a hurry for anything. What you save in money you spend in time."
"Love everything about Kirin hobby! All 3 items came packed with bubble wrap and as expected. "
"Good customer service and prompt delivery."
"The price of the product was average, so no complaint there. Products can hauled-up elsewhere and all.
The shipping was free—which is nice—but the tracking was 'preparing shipping label' until it skipped straight to 'out for delivery', which finally happened on the 9th day of their 2-9 business day delivery time estimate. I was worried if I should contact them for a week or so, but decided to wait out the whole estimate (which proved to be right). Granted that can be UPSP's fault, so it's not counted against them.
The preorder item took an entire month past their estimated arrival date (which in turn was past the original sale date) to ship, without them ever updating the product information to show the delay. Their estimated processing time of 1-3 business days took two more business days than estimated as well.
The product itself arrived in excellent quality with decent packing.
So overall, they're uninformative and slow, but got the job done eventually with no actual issue.
Never actually tried to communicate with them, so I can't remark on that area.
The slow part might not be an issue with in-stock items as well."
"Great service. Excellent packaging. Answered all my questions in a timely manor. "
"Great prices, fast and secure shipping! Highly recommended seller!!"
"I bought to items 4 months ago, and haven't received anything. I know it says 1 of the items is backordered, but I still haven't received the other item. I've tried calling, and emailing many times, and no response. They're basically steeling, since you can't get the items or your money back. "
"Pre-ordered a NECA 1/4 Raphael in March. It still has not arrived and today is 27 July. "
"Ordered a Riddler figure that still has not come. Played 30.85 in total including shipping. It's a figure I really wanted to.
So far I have heard nothing and I'm starting to believe all the bad reviews others have left. Going to file a claim soon if they do not get back to me."
"*Update: It is now July 24th 2017. I have been trying to contact Kirin Hobby to cancel 2 preorders SINCE June 24th 2017?!! I even opened a dispute with the bank. KH have not contacted me with an apology or ANY kind of reply. My preorders are still marked as "PAID" and have not been changed to "CANCELED" so I know they haven't refunded my money. Both Items are still not in stock so there is NO REASON why they can't simply cancel both and get this over with. They should follow their preorder policy rather than ignore their customers.*
I want to say that I have ordered from Kirin Hobby twice in the past, and those experiences were okay. The first was a prorder for a Sailor Moon Proplica. About a month later, I purchased additional preorders for two Sailor Scout figures. I ended up needing to cancel the 2nd preorder set of Sailor Scout figures. I called during their business hours, and no one ever picked up. Kirin Hobby eventually got back to me about a week later and canceled+refunded the second receipt. And I got my SM Proplica preorder at the very end of the month of the stated release. Not too bad. SO I FIGURED I'D TRY THEM AGAIN...
This time I purchased two preorders, on two separate receipts, in the same day. But after seeing the real product overseas, I didn't want the preorders anymore, so I emailed them to cancel. I figured it might take a week again, but after a week I got no responses. I sent more emails as the days went by. I left voice mails. I wrote facebook comments. I sent them facebook messages. And I got nothing back for over two weeks. 16 days. I wrote them an email letting them know i'd need to contact my bank to dispute, if they would not contact me back... nothing back from them. So I contacted my bank and the dispute has begun.
...My assumption is that they want the customer's money. They likely refunded my preorders before because they were still receiving $100+ from my pocket for the SM Proplica. So they weren't really losing out. This time I don't have any additional orders I plan on keeping, so they won't be getting any of my money... Either that, or they are patiently waiting to contact me UNTIL they have the preorders in their possession. Why? Because of their Preorder Policy: "Can I make changes to my preorder? Yes. You can make changes (ie. add, remove) to your preorder at any time. If an item is not yet being processed for shipping, there are no fees to make changes to the order. If you wish to cancel an item that is already being processed for shipping, we will attempt to make the changes requested. However, please note that the item may be anywhere in the shipping process (eg. picking, packaging, or shipped) or possibly picked up by the shipping courier (USPS, UPS), so we cannot guarantee we can make the changes requested. If we are able to make the changes requested, restocking fee of up to 20% may apply. If you wish to cancel an item that is already in stock and placed on reserve for your order, restocking fee of up to 20% may apply." So if they WAIT to contact me back until they have the figures, they can still have 20% of each figures... they won't completely be losing my money. But both figures have been listed as "Preorder" purchases on their site this entire time I've tried to contact them. AND They have not sent emails stating the items' status were updated to "instock".
They have only sent me 3 automated emails, during this now 17 day period, stating "Thank you for contacting us! Due to the high volume of emails received, we currently have a backlog of messages, so we're not able to respond to everyone right away. Please allow for some time to respond. For immediate assistance, please contact Customer Support by phone (available 2-6pm PST Mon - Fri) ***-***-****. Thank you for understanding!" But I HAVE CALLED. During THEIR specified times. PST time zone! And I have left them voicemails with my full name, method of contact and order number, and a request to cancel. And yes, I did check my SPAM folder in my email and there was nothing there.
Please, don't be tempted by the lower prices. They're only listing them lower so they can entice people to take a chance. I've contacted one other customer during this time, and they are having issues with Kirin Hobby as well. Not able to get in contact with them They purchased three items on one receipt. Two of the three Preorders were set to arrive during the month of June... She received one of the June orders but not the second. And has received no update on the item. Kirin Hobby does not care about the customer. They only care about receiving your money. Spending the extra money on a trusted figure-selling website with good reviews is worth it. Please read reviews and do not ignore the negative reviews."
"I ordered an item from Kirin Hobby in mid-November of 2016, as a Christmas present for my husband. By the week before Christmas I had still not received the item, and so I tried to contract them. The standard email response indicates "Due to the high volume of emails received, we currently have a backlog of messages, so we're not able to respond to everyone right away. Please allow for some time to respond. For immediate assistance, please contact Customer Support by phone (available 2-6pm PST Mon - Fri) ***-***-****. Thank you for understanding!" First - w hat legitimate business has a 4 hour window for operations and customer service? Red flag number one. I tried several times over multiple days to contact them at the number listed, resulting either a busy signal or just rings forever. What legitimate business doesn't have voice-mail capability? Red flag number two. I kept trying for several weeks. Finally, in January - still not having received the item, I finally had someone an answer the line. he indicated that the item was shipping out that week - said it was backordered (no notification earlier so I could decide to purchase the item from another seller prior to Christmas, or apology). I finally received the item 2 months after the original order date, and when we received it was damaged/not fully functional. I tried again to email them to inquire about returning the item and got the same auto email response. Tried again calling multiple times with same busy signal or ringing into eternity. As of now I am out my money and beyond frustrated in dealing with this place. Horrible experience. Buyer beware."
