"I would like more reading and activities. At the end of the day it seems like the caregivers are just killing time."
"If it were not for my child’s main teachers, I don’t know how much longer I would keep my child in LaPetite. My main concern is the fact that my child’s feedings are often confused by teachers who are substituted for the day when one of the main teachers are absent. Although I realize that the teachers’ absences are at no fault of the school, I think management could do more to ensure that all the paperwork we fill out in the beginning explicitly stating each child’s routine, is actually read and followed. Overall, I think management has been responsive to our concerns when they are raised, which is great! I like that the app keeps us updated throughout the day (always love receiving pictures and videos!). I would like to see more activities for the infants. They seem to be left out of some of the fun I’ve noticed in the toddler and twos classes. My child has been enrolled at LaPetite for a few months now and I’ve only seen him in the app participating in two art/craft activities."
"I often recommend this school to others in reasonable proximity. The use of communication tools (the app) is really great, and several of the teachers are fantastic in terms of their obvious interest level--even continuing after 'graduation' to other classrooms. Others can be less so, but that's understandable. Perhaps making sure that some more high-energy staff are represented in each classroom? I really trust in the administration/staff/processes, even if there are occasional hiccups. The whole team clearly cares and is highly active and interactive. The constant decor changes are a great example. It's obviously not cheap, daycare, but it really feels like a solid value given what we get. Some might complain about the food or whatnot, but people who do that should expect their rates to go up. Plus, your goal is also to get the kids to eat so it's not like you could just serve fresh organic veggies every meal. Plus, I really love the concept of having them help prepare some of the snacks!"
"My experience has been very positive thus far with teachers, staff and the director. The environment is very caring and nurturing."
"I trust them with my child that's all."
"Most of the staff at this center is terrific, though I have certainly had experiences with low-performing staff. For instance, I would regularly catch one teacher too busy eating (the food we are paying to have our children eat!) to take care of children who are fighting or who have fallen and hurt themselves. Luckily, those individuals have moved on, been transferred, or been let go. My child's current teachers are great - attentive, experienced, and understanding of the children's developmental needs. I also never have to worry about the safety and security of my child, as I know that is a top priority for the staff and management. The management is responsive to parent requests, as I have also seen the center's services and facilities improve during my time with them. The only thing I would note is that while the staff does try to implement early learning activities, this is more a daycare than a school."
"In general, I've loved my experience as a new parent witih La Petite. There's no better feeling than knowing your child is welcomed genuinely in their classroom (s/o infant 3/4) on a daily basis."
"La Petite Academy has been great for my daughter. She loves her teachers and we feel very safe with her there. They have also been very helpful in coming up with strategies to make sure she remains healthy and moving forward to new milestones."
"We wish to have more teachers to accommodate infants in the early morning."
"My husband and I enrolled our son at La Petite when he was three months old, and we were very happy with the care he received over the next three years - we only left because we were lucky to get a great charter school off the lottery for Pre-K 3. The teachers were fantastic, the administration was helpful, and the hours gave us a ton of flexibility as we juggled the schedule of two working parents. Would definitely recommend this location to other parents. "
"turnover is too high so that is major concern; the food options are not healthy/too processed; there were problems with passing health inspection; inconsistent communication; feels more like babysitting than anything like an education experience; we have accepted massive location inconvenience to try another option; the nap length was encouraged (likely because it is easier to deal with a sleeping kid); no ill will, just moving away from what is needed"
"Overal amazing teachers but not everyone is great. Nutrition needs to improve with more fresh veggies and fruits and less frozen canned foods"
"We are grateful for a place where our daughter can learn from her teachers and classmates alike in a safe and comfortable place. We are also thankful for the relationship she has built with Ms Evette and Ms Meko, who have been such a big part of her development."
"Overall pretty good; there is often confusion at drop-off after he transitioned to the toddler room. In understand there has been an effort to resolve this recently."
"Our general experience has been extremely positive. Loving teachers, caring administrators and a warm and welcoming environment."
