"What a great service--and handled effectively, efficiently and with clear and consistent communications. I'm a serious amateur photographer and wanted to test a new lens (or maybe two) before purchasing. I had an opportunity to travel to Malaysia and so rented the Nikon 18-200mm 3.5 VR lens from LensesForHire for a duration of about three weeks.

From the beginning, I was impressed with the process. The website was clear, there was loads of information to support me in my decision (including links to third party reviews of the various lenses) and all the terms and conditions--and instructions--were helpful and clear.

I was notified that the lens had shipped and was here to receive it. As promised, it arrived in the four-hour window specified. The packaging was all reusable and the accessories included were more than I expected, and included a user's manual, return over-pack and a label for my convenience. I also had information on the insurance value and other shipping options if I wanted them.

After the lens return, LensesForHire confirmed its receipt and then a few days later, as promised, confirmed that they had tested it and were satisfied that I'd returned it in good condition.

I'd strongly recommend LensesForHire to someone who wants to evaluate a Nikon or Cannon (or third party) lens OR who needs a specific lens for a specific occasion but couldn't justify purchasing it (or wasn't ready to purchase then) for just that occasion.

LensesForHire is an excellent option for both professional and amateur--both in terms of what is available and to be able to afford to try something before spending a great deal of money to purchase it.

I have another trip planned in January and am considering hiring a different lens and trying that one out. However, I was so happy with the one I did hire that I may have found 'that perfect lens' for me at this stage in my photo development and am now considering purchasing it (or asking for it for Christmas!).

"I recently used LensesForHire for the first time and I'm extremely impressed by their service. I rented a 14-24mm lens for a week for a commercial shoot I had and it made all the difference. The order process is very easy with great communication from the company and fast delivery.

If you hire for a week they make sure it arrives the day before and you post it back the day after, so you get the whole week. Price is excellent even with the included insurance which is just great as it gives you piece of mind.

I'll definitely be used them again as it's a great alternative to spending tons on equipment, especially for new businesses :)"

"Absolutely stunning service.

Their communication with me was superb and they kept me up to date every step of the way.

The main reason I chose LensesForHire was because they don't charge you a deposit on the equipment you hire, instead trusting you to care for the equipment as you would your own. This is a bold step for an equipment rental company, but very customer friendly. A lot people won't have hundreds or even thousands of pounds to drop on a deposit that could be secured for weeks.

LensesForHire were also the cheapest rental company I found when shopping around, so I was considering them even before I discovered there was no deposit.

The only problem I had was that I could not be given a postage figure for return shipping from Northern Ireland. Courier shipping to Northern Ireland, and the Isles of White and Man, costs the same as courier delivery and pick up to and from mainland UK. This is of course understandable given the distance, but there was no indicator as to what it would cost to return it, either by courier or post office, from these places. I ended up paying £25 to ship it back to them. The cost itself is not a criticism as I was expecting around that figure given the weight and insurance value, but a separate postage option for courier delivery and pick up to and from NI, IOW and IOM at check out would be useful to give an indication of total shipping costs.

Could not rate these guys highly enough, and I'll definitely be handing out the leaflets they included with the order to my photography club."
