"Well, what can I say?! I've read good reviews everywhere and being from the same forum network, (POTN), I have been aware of LensesForHire right from the planning stages (well, slight exaggeration).

I decided to rent a couple of extenders for the BigginHill 2008 airshow weekend (Friday - Sunday). I originally planned to rent a 2x, 1.4x and a 24-105 so asked about availability and Stewart kindly offered to pencil me in for the lens as I couldn't book it till the nighttime.
Then I decided to rent: 2x, 24-105 and a 50 1.4 instead. Stewart emailed to make sure i didn't make a mistake which I thought was great customer service.

I received an email from Stewart on the Wednesday telling me that the boxes were dropped off at the couriers and that I can expect the boxes on Thursday.
I then received a rather amusing email later that day telling me to expect a 'slightly bigger box' than expected. Stewart then explained why the boxes are bigger than expected.

The box came on Thursday to my girlfriend's work address, it was indeed BIG! Inside it are 3 boxes and lots of foam!
These boxes were fitted with soft thick padded foam to protect the contents. Instructions on how to mail them back, a return label and printed instruction manuals were included.

The lenses came with a filter already attached (the filter case came as well). The lens bag and hood were there as well.

I shipped everything back in the boxes they came in. I didn't opt for the return shipping so I took this box to the post office and chose Special Delivery with insurance and guaranteed next day. (£22)

Overall, it was an excellent experience and I will definitely be hiring again. I'm now deciding what to hire for the RIAT show next month :-)

I hired a Canon 70-200 2.8 L for a week although technically was able to keep it for 8 days as they do not start the hire period until midnight of the day that you receive the lens.

It came boxed and packaged like fort Knox with instructions of use, how to return it, a carry case, lens hood and pre printed labels to make returning it all easy.

I had originally tried to hire the Canon 70-200 4 L but after submitting the order it transpired that the lens was out of stock for the days that I needed it. Stewart emailed me with a few hours and offered to upgrade the lens from the 4.0 to the 2.8 at no cost. This sort of service can not be beaten.

Thoroughly recommended.
