"Lorex Cameras are the best... I have 8 Cameras with night vision and (listen in)audio. The cameras work exceptionally well, both in the day and for the night vision as well. Quite superior to what was available just a few short years ago. I use the Lorex monitor and software to monitor my abode as I'm wheel chair bound and it give's me one up on any intrusion. " This is it, this is the system After weeks of searching and reading reviews of many different systems, by many different companies? Lorex 's 300 netHD Series was my final choice and have no remorse, nor regrets.
Fantastic system in so many ways. Ease of installation, capacity to record, video quality (night and day), ability to view away from home, actual alerts sent via email on phone if set in motion mode (with snap shots for viewing) and the many, many options system has to personalize and tailor the system to personal preferences.
Do not let price deter you. Did me in the beginning of my search. Yet once you learn what to look for spec wise? In my case (all that I wanted (options, video quality etc.) was in this system. But nowhere on the internet for the same price.
Best I did find? A system that had same qualities and options for the same price I paid. But no cameras. At 150.00, some companies as high as 400.00 a pc. that is a major factor. My NVR has 8 camera capacity and Lorex did only include 6. Yet that was a major savings on the pocket book.
So when you are choosing a system? Whether it be a Lorex, or another. Be sure to focus more on what you need and want, than price itself. Because in the case of Surveillance Systems? You do get what you pay for.

Installation was relatively easy; I did purchase some cable extensions to get power to some cameras, and I purchased a range extender for an outside camera which made a big difference. Remote viewing works well on my laptop but is a bit in-and-out on my smartphone. "Awesome cameras I used them on vacation and they worked every time. Installed in about 4 minutes with a few glitches, which may have been wifi issues. I had to call customer support for a password issue and they were a 10 for resolving the issue. As they say Easy Peezy lemon Squeezzy"

"Bought these DVR's to replace a restaurants pre-existing system..

After install the cameras looked clearer and sharper , plus added another 2 TB drive ( total of 5tb ) which gave me 664 hours of continuous recording..

Very impressed and so was client he hired me to replace the other 2 DVR's with the same unit ..

"I needed an additional remote POE switch due to the construction of my house made it difficult to pull 8 camera POE wires to where my DVR is. I connected this switch to my network then pulled the POE cables to a much easier place to access. Worked great!"

"While the team at Lorex has been very pleasant, ultimately I have been stuck with a camera I cannot use and cannot return. I purchased a camera and housing as separate pieces from Best Buy. It overheated. Lorex diagnosed the issue and sent me a replacement, as a single piece. We determined it couldn't work in our wireless area. I could not return to Best Buy because it was no longer the same item, Lorex wouldn't accept it back, Lorex wouldn't return my original items to bring back to Best Buy. All of this took dozens of phone calls, weeks to determine. Pleasant people but with horrible customer service policies."
