"The ordering process was very easy. Loved the multiple options. Still waiting on one monitor. Apparently the one I ordered was not available but was not informed of this until after they shipped the computer. "

"No communication from co. other than receipt of payment.
Even initial shipping notice was from FedEx.
It's 2014, update your process to inform your customer on how the build is going.

You get what you pay for.
1.) The workstation came with a USB cable hanging out the back of the PC.
I'd have to remove the motherboard to be able to unplug the cable from
the mother board based on CPU cooler.
So now I have a 6-8 inch cable just hanging out the back.
2.) I paid extra for 2 extra quiet fans.
- 1 is attached to bottom of case. Not sure the value of that.
- 1 was wired into mother board but just sitting on top of CPU cooler.
The wire hangers to hang it in place were just banging around in the case.
This would not have fallen off in shipping, this was intentionally left this way.
Spent 30min trying to get it connected. And it's not permanent and will
probably vibrate in future.
And the kicker? Right next to where I had to attach it...is an area for mounted
fan with screw holes and everything.

Bottom line:
It seems like someone who does not care about putting together a high-end
system, put this together - meaning, it's the best i7 they have, 32 GRAM, etc.
And they couldn't take a little extra care and treat it as their own?
Sad.

Now I wonder about the CPU insert to board and bonding between CPU and
cooler. Meaning if this part of the unit was put together in a shoddy way, what
about the other areas.

We'll see if this makes it to their review list.

Oh and when I filled out a complaint on these issues - no response.

A rep from MagicMicro, MaxPikovskiy, has responded:

“Dear customer

We apologize for miscommunication and frustration it caused, and for taking so long to respond to your issue. Please take a minute and go with us through your issues.

USB cable hanging out the back – this is a design function. It’s the pass-through connector that brings USB3.0 to the front panel of your case. We have to leave it unplugged for shipping. Please plug it in one of the blue USB3.0 jacks in the back.

120MM fan placement: – System has 2 extra 120mm fans which we placed according to manufacturer recommendations- one in the bottom and one in the front, behind the faceplate. Bottom of the case sits on the plastic feet allowing enough space for the air to come through. Both of these fans work as intake fans, pushing the air through the case and out via existing grill openings.

Important!!! – The “extra fan” sitting on top of the CPU cooler is actually not your extra 120MM fan but part of the CPU cooler. It is essential that you do not remove it from the processor cooling assembly. Wire hangers could have come off during shipping (unfortunately it does happen though exceptionally rare.) The fan needs to be re-attached to the heatpipe assembly, and best to do it is with the guidance of our tech personnel. We would like to arrange a tech call with you to make sure your CPU fan are attached securely. We tried to call you couple times but did not get any answer. We actually do expect customers who have issues to contact us directly and try to resolve them before the write their reviews. It helps clear the issues faster.

Thank you
Magic Micro Customer Service”

"I use a computer until it wears out, or the hardware is no longer supported. I could not get updated drivers anymore, so it was time for new hardware. I picked out the things I wanted in my new computer, placed the order and it showed up just as I ordered it. Dropped my hard drive into it and away I went! I know, I know, you are not going to get rich on my infrequent orders, but when it is time to upgrade, I will be back!"

"Ordered a custom built I7 system for video editing; Speed & performance-wise I am very happy with the I7, which came just as I specified. I also bought an I5 from MagicMicro last year, and I am extremely happy with it in all categories. My one complaint with the I7 is that one of the fans is a bit loud; i haven't yet bothered to narrow it down to the PSU, CPU or case fan. I suspect it is the CPU fan though. This is basically the exact same system as the I5 but with an upgraded CPU. I am extremely satisfied with the I5 system.; I may end up ordering a quieter fan or cooling system once I narrow down the source. For now I have it tucked under the desk with the opening pointed at some sound padding. "

"The computer arrived in a timely manner and as soon as I pulled it out of the box I could hear something fall within the computer. One of the memory sticks was not secured correctly. They said it happens in shipping. "

"This purchase was for a custom built computer, replacing an existing custom built machine. The configuration options available were quite sufficient for me to customize every component being specified for the machine, and without breaking the bank. In fact the machine I ordered was almost identical to the 3-yr old machine it was replacing - and at $300 less than my last computer.

They did take the full amount of time for assembly and testing, which was fine as far as I was concerned. Unfortunately they missed a couple of minor items during this assembly time, but a 10 minute call to tech support fixed the two issues involved.

Overall, I am very satisfied that I got a very good deal - at least $200 less than any other company I checked on.
