"Worst shipping experience I've ever had. Package never shipped for a week, called to ask when it would ship and was told that day. Unsurprisingly it didn't that day either. Finally we called again the beginning of next week and was told that now we'd need a utility bill and government ID before they'd ship it. Why they waited a week to send that email is beyond me so finally we cancelled it.
Don't order online through these guys, they're basically useless. Either go right to their store or buy somewhere else. "
"Order placed on Oct 2nd, not shipped out till Oct 6th. UPS tracking showed it was delivered with signature required on Oct. 10th but I never received the package and there is no one working in my building with the name listed on the UPS tracking page. Disappointing, but it happens. Contacted UPS right away and reported it. After this spent lots of back and forth with very little assistance or information provided by UPS. They say it was delivered to my address but at least they started a "lost package recovery". Tried calling Memory Express multiple times and was never able to get anyone on the phone so I left several voice messages as well as filled out their email contact form. Almost 72 hrs now and not a single follow up or even a simple acknowledgement message from Memory Express. Checked with other businesses in my building, but there's 10 buildings in this lot with possibly over 50 businesses in them, there's no way I'll be able to find it on my own. I'm out almost $240 and I can't proceed with my build. Maybe they'll find my package or maybe not, but right now I just want my money back so I can go buy from somewhere with better customer service.
Follow Up Update (Oct 16th):
Package finally received - no thanks to UPS or Memory Express; the incorrect address that UPS delivered it to actually brought it to my office building for me, over a week after UPS DELIVERED IT THE WRONG OFFICE, in fact the wrong BUILDING!!! Still cannot believe the complete lack of service from Memory Express in trying to help resolve this issue. I left TWO voicemails, and filled out their email contact form and didn't get any response until I initiated a complaint through PayPal. May not have been their fault, but the complete lack of customer service means I will NOT be a returning customer."
"Once I ordered an item, someone from the company has asked me to provide a utility bill (or phone bill) and government ID. What's next? My passport? My VISA? My finger print ??? I'm aware about phishing and other fraudulous so-called merchants. I canceled the order, for sure. There's more..... after I canceled it, while my order was still «in process» they did the transaction on my VISA card !!!!"
"Bought a new laptop and it was faulty but memory express would not resolve the issue and had to get asus to help which meant i now have a 1500 dollar paperweight, memory express are crooks selling used computers as new"
"SO let me tell you that memory express seems like they do know their stuff, but that's comparing to the most common people(your "best buy's"). I went there to buy a gaming laptop and ended up spending 2300$ and sadly within a week was having colored lines across my screen after 20-30 min and then after that would happen it would freeze and just shut off. then after it would flicker constantly. Now i know many computers have problems with drivers so yes i did update EVERYTHING. Also i gave it 2 days of trying different things ( calling HP for help with BIOS updates). But after the 2 days i decided nothing was working and i need a new one because lets face it, its been 10 days and im having problems with a 2300$ laptop. So i go in and one of the guys, didnt catch his name, but he was really nice and helped with my issue. He set up technician to test it and told me they would call me in a few hours. Few hours turned into a day, which whatever Im not THAT impatient. Anyways here is the problem. I got a call and they told me they tested it and nothing was wrong and to take it back and play around with it for awhile. I was stressed out already and had a issue with that because I have already "played around with it" for a couple days. So i told them "no i will not, its been 10 days and i have huge crashing issues, and screen issues ALREADY" now heres whats funny, a few sentences in and I got a new laptop NO PROBLEM. Just like that. Manager says "since you insist its a problem we will replace it" So its funny because they told me nothing was wrong, i said there was. And now they let me have a new one? hmmm seems a little unprofessional to just be pushed over like that by a customer when they are SURE NOTHING was wrong. So im 5050 about what rating to give them because on one side i got my laptop replaced, but they told me they stress tested it and there were NO problems. IDK but take this how you will, I personally find it funny. (sorry for my bad grammar i didnt pass english 11)"
"Their policy for pricematch is to do as much as possible to deny it. Any little detail that doesn't match exactly, any competitor not operating a storefront, and a host of other minor reasons to deny. Winnipeg staff were not helpful and truly could care less as to whether I made a purchase with them or not.
Don't like the fact that they have broken the seal on products either.
What is in stock is overpriced. However, those with 'money to burn' who want an item asap, they can fill that niche often. Won't even stop in again as I don't need the aggravation."
"I bought from their website many times and I'm surprised to see so much bad reviews. It's been at least 2 years since my last order with them as my computer doesn't need any upgrade yet. Maybe this has changed in between, their price match always been great too! I've read a review about a drop of the difference, being used to the higher percent of course as a customer more savings is always better but businesses are loosing money these days and at least they still price match! :) I've only visited one of their store once for a monitor and everything was good, I still use the monitor today. I remember when I first saw their website when they were a small company pretty much only selling memory, I hope they will win back the reputation they once had!"
"They dropped their price Beat from 25% to 10% and no longer match free shipping. So there is no longer any incentive to shop with them anymore. Cause the Customer Service at their Richmond store is less then One star "
"Very bad service. They open sealed RAM to put sticker, slow shipping, shipping cost error, and then ignored requests for help with doa kit.
I placed my order on a Monday, and only got informed of a problem on Friday instead of shipping tues/wed.
They made me jump through hoops to get order out (min 10 emails). It only got shipped 1.5-2wks after my order was placed. I used verified by visa to avoid issues since first time ordering from them. Slow to get anything done.
When my order arrived, I noticed seals broken on my 2x32gb ddr4 kits (corsair) They claim must open to put their sticker on each stick of ram (8sticks). Others do not. Who opens sealed memory and gives as new with a sloppy gooey sticker on it?
Then I noticed they over charged for shipping. I contacted them and they fixed that (but waste of time).
And last; when I installed the ram in my x99 system one kit was not being recognized (xmp issue). I contacted memory express to help out. And they ignored my 3 attempts to contact them!! Terrible service. Luckily corsair stepped in and helped.
MemoryExpress definitely NOT recommended.

"I bought an ASUS P550CA-XS51-CA laptop computer at Memory Express. Unfortunately the computer out of the box was not able to consistently maintain a WiFi connection. Service at Memory Express told me they were aware of the problem with this computer and initially provided misleading information about how to fix it.
Finally after 3 hours of fruitless diddling with the WiFi issues, it appeared that it would be necessary to modify the BIOS to correct the problems. I was unwilling to do this myself on a brand new machine, and I also balked at Memory Express Service doing this because it would mean a delay of a couple of days at least and would require yet another trip to the store.
I wrote the experience off as a bad purchase and returned the item. To Memory Express's credit, the refund was done promptly.
I have been a customer of Memory Express for many years, and am frankly shocked at how badly this purchase went, and at Memory Express's overall bad rating.
Memory Express has so far (after two weeks) declined to post my review of the ASUS P550CA-XS51-CA on their website. Shoppers should be aware that the reviews at the Memory Express website might not be a true reflection of the experiences of customers."
"Placed a special order online was told 1 to 4 weeks now it is 8 weeks. Great price but terrible customer service"
"Great stores in Calgary, I usually go to their location in the NE of Calgary, they have always price matched for me and have what I need within 24 hours. Just picked up an i7 CPU that was on sale on tigerdirect's website and they gave me the price match discount with no problems at all."
"Some staff sound-like "technohippie" but just messed up my item/order.
Then I had to go back and exchanged that. They just asked bunch of relevant or irrelevant questions. As I expected, they were unapologetic. The service is just obsolete: "Never admit any fault = no liability". The staff who don’t like working here, you don’t need to, just do something else. Don’t try to give customers bad attitude.
Man, superficially looks experienced doesn't make you really to be the one.
Most of their merchandises are available on other online sellers for lower prices. Once the things are originated in mainland China; that's basically no difference where you would buy them. If those don't like that, try and get parts are totally made in the U.S./ Taiwan/ Japan, let's see if there's any?
BTW, no idea why they would ask for your personal info while making your purchase? They never inform/explain to their customers why they would need your info. in advance.
That's why we always get weird calls!!
"
"Good prices, the item i ordered was not available and they gave me another item (higher value) instead.Ordered couple of times never had any issue. They will check if you are the person who ordered (by calling you on your phone) if it is more than couple of hundreds of dollars, feature i like (to me it means that they want to protect their customers ). I will certainly buy from ME in the future too."
"I spent $1000s on this computer at Memory Express Winnipeg because I wanted to upgrade my 8 year old desktop. I was phoned 3x by Memory Express to confirm my order and I asked the service rep. that Thunderbolt was on this Asus motherboard after I ordered the Asus Thunderbolt card separately. I received the wrong Asus motherboard without Thunderbolt. 1st exchange for the Asus motherboard went smoothly for an Asus Z79 deluxe motherboard with Thunderbolt. But, this Asus Z79 motherboard did not include the 5 pin to 9 pin adapter for Thunderbolt card to work. 2nd exchange did not work well, I was forced to disassemble my computer at the store to return and exchange this motherboard for a motherboard that has the 5 9 adapter included. While I removed the cpu back-plate, which had sticky pads for support, the motherboard warranty sticker ripped while stuck on one of the sticky pads. The service rep. saw that I was having this problem, I showed him how the sticky pad was stuck on the sticker and he just watched me rip the sticker and then told me after that the motherboard warranty was voided. I was told that this motherboard with no functioning Thunderbolt could no longer be returned for exchange and had no valid warranty, but also that the additional 4 years warranty was invalid as well. They sent off an email to Asus about the ripped sticker problem.
I phoned the store 3x to try to offer suggestions to get Thunderbolt to work on this motherboard: purchase an earlier version of the TB card through Asus, borrow an adapter from another motherboard, or order up the 5 9 pin adapter part 14003-00380000. Then I went back to the store to find out that they did not write down anything of what I asked and were confused about the thunderbolt header cable that acts as a copyright control. Currently, Memory Express is waiting to get an email from Asus to confirm that my Asus z79 deluxe motherboard is no longer under warranty and requesting a 5 pin to 9 pin thunderbolt adapter for this motherboard.
And after all that, they refuse to re-assemble my computer because they just don't have the time for me as a customer.
Update:
Now Memory Express is able to exchange my current Z79 deluxe motherboard for the next level up which includes the 5 pin 9 pin adapter an extra $100. Asus has not responded to the retailer email for the 5 9 adapter request yet. I will update my review once I get all my computer parts back from Memory Express.
2nd Update:
I was able to exchange the "defective" Asus Z97 deluxe motherboard that did not have the 5 pin 9 pin adapter included and bought the the super deluxe Asus Z97 deluxe motherboard that has the 5 pin 9 pin adapter. Asus made the error in not including a 5 pin 9 pin adapter for every of their motherboards that have a Thunderbird option. Thanks to the manager and the tech. staff of Memory Express Winnipeg who helped me sort this out! "
