"It's amazing, Anything you might actually want to buy is always out of stock, but all the cheap garbage you would never want is ready to go. Ammunition? magazines? nope. A cheap Chinese pocket knife? Yup.
Their fees are amazing as well. if you order too little, you get hit with a fee. if you (finally) find something you want.. well, shipping is suspiciously high."
"Be careful with this company, their ammo prices are great but they make up with shipping charges. First off when they get product in they do not release it at a given time. They will release some and then an hour later some more. Right now with the ammo craze they have limits on the ammo so when ammo is added to the website you can only buy 500 rounds and pay 15 dollars to ship. Then an hour or 2 later they add more ammo and the same thing happens, before the end of the day you will be able to buy 2k rounds on 4 separate orders, but you will pay 60 dollars in shipping. If your lucky enough to get more than one item on an order, they will place it on hold and say they oversold but will immediately ship the remaining item to you. Don't bother calling, you will almost always get a busy signal, because of everyone else calling trying to combine orders(they will not combine orders by the way). Seems like all companies selling ammo are doing the same, they either jacking up the prices or they get you with the shipping. either way good luck to everyone."
"First time order with Midway. They had what I was looking for and it arrived...but took way to long to ship. Initial shipping/tracking notification was 2/11/13. Package finally arrived on 2/22/13. 11 days for shipping from MI to CO...pretty sad... They use some weird 3rd party postal service in between UPS and USPS. I suppose I would order again, just know I would have to wait..."
"This isn't going to be a lengthy rant, since everything with my online purchase experience went smoothly. Though I didn't receive email notifications of my order status for some reason, I was able to log into the Web site and find what I needed. I received a notification via email for an item I was hunting, at which time I placed my order. Within one day I had a tracking number. From there it was just waiting for the truck to arrive. I am very pleased with Midway's accurate in-stock/out-of-stock status as well as the ability to get notifications when items come back in stock. Pricing is competitive and shipping reasonable. Plus, they didn't give into the price-gouging and rationing like many other sites have recently. They have me as a loyal customer."
"Like any business, often MidwayUSA gets everything right (not counting their horrendous shipping fees). That being said, its the atypical situations that define service quality for a business. Where MidwayUSA fails miserably is in fulfilling backorders or on items that are in high demand. With the recent political situation and run on .223 ammunition, I decided to order some bullets for reloading. The bullets I chose were on back order but with an estimated arrival date only one week later. Since I have been a long time customer and had mostly positive experiences with the company, I put in my order. A week came and went and the only thing that changed was the estimated arrival date was changed to another week later. Another week passes and the date gets changed again, and again, and again! At the time I placed this order, there were other suppliers with stock I could have used, but its much too late now. Sure MidwayUSA didn't charge my credit card but because of their outright lies I am SOL now. There are other much better companies to deal with than MidwayUSA. Between Graf and Sons and Brownell's you would do much better. Dishonest business practices should not be rewarded. You have been warned."
"Just another company making a killing on the current situation, hiking up prices. Giving false dates on when things are going to arrive. Convincing would be customers to open an account to receive notices when back ordered item will be available, only to postpone the arrival date and severely increase the price when they do make it available!!! Shop elsewhere, these are dirtbag tactics, tired of scumbags trying to make a dime over the current situation."
"made two seperate optic orders with midwayusa. both were shipped fast, packaged okay, and billed properly. as always most reviews are from disgruntled consumers who take the time to write a complaint. because i had two good experiences in such a short time frame thought it might help some other consumers with their particular needs"
"SCREW YOU MIDWAY.
Last cent ever to be spent there.
They sent me a upper in less the adequate packaging and it comes with nicks and blemishes all over it. I cannot blame the shipper it was midway who packaged it.
Let them know about the issue while they had product in stock still for replacement. They do not respond.
Wait over 20 minutes on the phone to tell them the situation. They blame the manufacturer for a blemished piece and to conatct them or to send it back on my dime for refund since they are not in stock now.
Why am I paying out of pocket for returning a product they sent me damaged or was damaged by their poor packaging.
Lady on the phone was beyond rude when I asked her to explain the policy again since I was amazed at lack of Midway using pre paid return labels.
Plenty of little guys to choose from out there now. Midway seems to have become a large company that lost touch with caring for customers."
"Wow where do I start, its sad to see such a fine company go south. Have made many purchases with Midway USA in the past but they keep going down hill. Despite the huge amount of money they have been making recently because of the gun situation. They still choose to ding there customers buy charging them extra for backorders. They not only cut my backorder quantity in half from 4 mags to 2. They charged me extra because my items were on backorder. Items they had on sale in October when I ordered, long before this gun craziness. But they refused to honor my order, saying that it came from the owner, Potterfield
Well good luck to you but, I will be taking my business other places that don't screw there customers or take advantage of polital situations."
"being a gun nut i have bought brass bullets and other things over the years recently yes before the gun rush i picked a dpms lower in 308 in my adventure to buy an upper i tried midway i found one at a higher than ar 15 price which i expected it was in stock on 12 20 12 i ordered and went through the cc hassles on 12 23 12 i checked to see when it would be arriving as i have to make sure to catch the ups man it stated it would ship til 12 24 12 ok so i check 12 26 its been changed to 12 31 12 ok so its christmas so i get all my lower parts sitting here waiting all it ever says is not shipping today for a while you could still order and wait for back order now you cant ,,, i dont really think that they care you know they buy from their manf do you really think dpms hasnt send a upper or two to a big outfit like midway ;;;surely im first in line considering they had one in stock when i ordered now no back orders accepted on it which means a price increase so lets see if they make me tired of waiting and i cancell my order they can mark mine up another 50 plus makes sense to me i found another sme upper for 90 bucks less of course they are out of stock now do you really think there is a run on almost every part they sell????"
"Up until 2010, Midway was the way to go - good prices, great customer service, reasonable shipping. Since then, it seems that the company has taken steps to bolster their bottom line. Their standard shipping is horrible (which is to say that UPS is horrible), and they're making an extra few bucks on every order through their handling charge. If something is back-ordered, count on another handling charge when they complete your order. If they don't have it, they should cover the shipping (not to mention the handling fee) when it comes in. Just-in-time inventory is a stupid business model for a mail order retailer. They insist upon shipping insurance, even though UPS will absolutely not honor their commitment if they lose your order or it gets damaged. Too bad; I enjoyed them while they lasted..."
"Midway's shipping of small items via UPS and USPS is very slow. Be prepared to wait up to two weeks for delivery. I am going on nine days since ordering and shipping still waiting for an item to come from the post office. If you need something soon use priority mail or go to another vendor. After reading some of these reviews and seeing their prices become uncompetitive, I've pretty much given up on shopping at Midway."
"I ordered several items including a $90 Mossberg 500 Shotgun barrel. The barrel is packaged in a clear plastic case. You can CLEARLY see the barrel is BADLY rusted thru the packaging. They sent it to me anyways. I wrote them to exchange it and they expect ME to pay the shipping back. I paid for a NEW barrel and received a RUSTED one. MidwayUSA customer service SUCKS."
"3 orders and no issues. Sales prices are decent. I like the way their monthly sales overlap a few days. for about 5 days you get 2 months worth of sales."
"Midway, as other etailers, has begun using UPS Surepost - charging the same as their previous low-cost shipping but substituting a slower and lower quality product. I was told by the script-reader (telephone support) there was a way to choose what would be a higher cost shipping option on the appropriate page but I couldn't find it. Midway has lost my business, as will any other etailer that uses this poor excuse for a shipping method."
