"Ordered some archery related products from them via their website on Friday. Called Monday morning to advise them to ship Fed Ex, as I live in a rural area and have no USPS delivery to my home. (Their website says those are the two delivery methods they use). I was told they couldn't specify how it would be delivered. As there was no way to guarantee I would ever even get what I ordered, I tried to cancel. I was told I would be charged 15% for "restocking". I canceled the order and plan to dispute this on my credit card. They will probably get their $14 but are going to work for it. Obviously, I will never order from these rip off artists again and neither will anyone I know. I should have done my homework. Sometimes a low price isn't the best deal.
After canceling the order, I received telephone call from them, advising they had made an error and I could specify shipping methods and to call back if I still wanted the item. I didn't as I had already ordered it from a reputable company. A week later, I received an email, stating they shipped the order and charged my credit card. I called them back and told them to recall their merchandise and to make sure it was not delivered. They are supposed to credit my credit card but have not yet done so. And of course these idiots insist on charging me a "restocking" fee for something that was canceled before it was ever shipped. Major clown operation. Don't buy from them!"
"I ordered a police related product from them and received an email confirmation. After 10 days they still had not shipped the product. I needed it for work, so I ordered it from somewhere else. I called TGSCOM to cancel the order. The customer service rep told me it had only been seven days since I ordered. I corrected her and told her the date I ordered it and had received e-mail confirmation. She told me the order had now been canceled. Later that day she sent me an e-mail telling me that she forgot to tell me earlier that there would be a 15% restocking fee because they had ordered the product from someone else, although they hadn't received it yet. TGSCOM wants 15% to restock an item that they never had in their possession. Their web site says there is a restocking fee for returned products, but I didn't return a product.
I feel they should have informed me at the time of purchase that they did not have the item in stock. With modern inventory systems that is a simple task. I understand why they didn't though, because it would have cost them the sale. Further, I should have been informed when I called to cancel the order that there would have been a restocking fee instead of hours later in an e-mail that I wasn't in the office to receive. I replied to their e-mail and didn't get a response, but the restocking fee now shows up on my credit card statement. I have seen several complaints on the Internet where they get people with the restocking fee. It appears TGSCOM stocks little, if any, product and is simply orders items for you from someone else. They may get the 15% eventually, but I have disputed it with my credit card company and they are going to have to work for it. I will share my experience with TGSCOM with all of my fellow officers and gun enthusiasts."
"Absolutely the worst company I've ever done business with on the web. The site indicated that the product was in stock when I ordered. I called 8 days later and was told it was being shipped from their warehouse. They told me they had 7 to 10 days per their website rules. The customer service rep did not know where the warehouse was located and could not explain why it took 10 days to go from one location to another within the company. I left a message for a supervisor and was never called back. I called them back 10 days after order and they had no updates. They said it was still in route from their warehouse. I just cancelled my order and spent $30 more somewhere else. "
"High cancellation charge for good not being shipped. I think the other guy is right. They don't have anything in stock. They just order the goods when they are ordered. Those guy must have made a fortune charging for cancellation on unshipped orders."
"Order was placed on 4/20/2010. 7 days later the item has not shipped. I was told by the CSR that it usually takes 7-10 business days to process an order before it ships out. It's obvious now that they do not stock any of their items and only order them from another retailer at the time of purchase.
Cancelling orders cost 15% for non-firearms, and 25% for firearms, which is not disclosed at the time of purchase. This is assumed to be their shipping costs and overhead from ordering from another retailer.
In the end, if you're willing to wait 3-4 weeks for a product in order to save $10, go with Midwesthunters.com. If not, stay the heck away."
