Freshness Guarantee Joke

"I've had 3 orders with Mikes over the last year, but my recent order was a Cohiba Luxury Sampler and Rocky Patel Humidor Selection Sampler. No issues with the Rocky sampler, but when I opened the Cohiba sampler each of the cigars had fuzzy white spots on them. These spots were clearly mold because they were fuzzy and elevated off the wrapper; additionally, 3 of the cigars had mold in the foot. I emailed Mike's customer service the day after receiving the shipment with photos and detailed descriptions of the mold, and requested either a refund or a replacement. Although I received a quick response, it was dismissive of my complaint and claimed that the mold was plume. Again, the spots were fuzzy, elevated, and in the foot - this is mold, not plume.

Reading Mike's "Freshness Guarantee" it's obvious that they are completely dismissive of any possibility of quality issues with their products. Once they sell the product they no longer care about customers satisfaction - I will no longer be order from this company!

Customer service lies

"Placed an order on Aug 8th, on the 9th I place a 2nd order, which is a gift for a friend that's moving. Mike's decides to combine the orders. Problem is they don't tell me so when the gift order arrives, which I paid for faster shipping so as expected it to arrive 1st, I give the box to my buddy and off to the west coast he goes. A few days later I check the tracking of the slow order and there's no status, shipper says the tracking number is no good. I send an email to customer service and they call me and tell me they combined the orders as requested. She tells me I requested the orders be combined. I have no clue what she's talking about and I'm telling her I never contacted them about anything and I was being totally professional, I was just trying to figure out what was going on and where is my order and then "click" she was gone. I then sent a 2nd email thanking them for not informing me about the combined orders and lying about me requesting the orders be combined and that they just lost a customer. It's been three days and they haven't bothered contacting me so I guess they don't really care. Seems no one cares anymore. "

Bad customer service

"I ordered a sampler because I like to try different cigars although I have my favorites. I ordered off Groupon a "Cuban sampler" which really weren't Cubans but that didn't matter. What did matter is that the cigars sent were not the cigars listed in the sampler in fact one of the cigars was a cheap convenient store cigar. I called customer nonservice and the barely English speaking person was rude and tried to play it off like it was my fault for ordering the sampler in the first place. They agreed to send a replacement with my next order....So in order to get a decent cigar replacement I had to place another order. I'm done with Mike's...."

One of the best online stores

"I have been buying my cigars from Mike's since July 2015. I have never had any issues besides the time that my cigars did not arrive on time but I cannot blame them for that since they shipped the same day so the postal service would be the one to blame. When I called to find out why my order wasn't delivered, they explained to me that the order shipped that very same day and that the USPS website was reflecting a "delayed" status on my tracking number and the expected delivery date had been "moved" forward for more 2 days. I've learned my lesson and upgraded the shipping method on my future orders to UPS and never had any shipping issues ever since. Mike's is the fastest to ship from all other cigar companies.
I also had a different issue with some of the cigars in the box I purchased (the were a bit dry) so they apologized when I called and gave credit in my account which I used on my next order. They also offered me to open, inspect, label and reseal my future packages which I think it is the best call to action cause I never got any dry cigars ever again.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

"I contacted them about the Groupon that I purchased. First off they delayed the shipping. Then the lady who answered the phone was rude and unprofessional. She ended up transferring me without warning. Surprising she did inform the supervisor of what was going on. I sent many emails requesting them to contact me further about the delay. I gave very specific times and they said that would be great. Unfortunately the supervisor doesn't know how to tell time and ended up continually calling me. Then the supervisor kept calling me the wrong name. My name is James not Jim if I wanted you to call me Jim I would have stated my name is Jim. They did issue a $10 Credit but to be honest I didn't even want it. I was being lied too many times by this company and do not appreciate it. They said I would receive it by this Saturday. I doubt it.... Please do not buy from them. You will end up very upset and wasting time. I love Groupon and all but there was a reason why they were on Groupon. "

Terrible

" Absolutely awful customer service the lady was so unprofessional and was telling me to get things straight it was appalling. I ordered cigars and get the wrong ones in the mail and they told me it was my fault that I got the wrong cigars not on their end. And that if I want to return them I would have to pay for it to be returned and then pay for shipping. I will never order from Mike cigars again they are terrible ."

I wish I could give -5 stars

"My boyfriend bought a cigar sampler coupon off of Groupon for his dad for Christmas. When my boyfriend put through the order he didn't realize he forgot to put the house number and didn't realize until it was never delivered. So we contacted the post office and asked them to track the package. They couldn't find the package. So I called customer service told them exactly what happened and they couldn't even help me. It was a joke. First off if there was no house number where the **** were you delivering it to? You should have called or emailed him before delivering the product. Secondly, she said she could put an investigation to see where it went but we never heard anything back. All we want is either another to be sent or our money back. Pretty ridiculous that he wasn't able to get his cigars and some random person is enjoying a free gift. "

No Response to Issue with product

"My last order of cigars from Mike's arrive with the box having a broken seal. Upon further investigation I found small amount of white blotches on many of the cigars.
I wrote to Mikes twice along with sending pictures of the product in question.
The rub - not a single response from them. NO additional questions - no apologies for the box being opened - nary a word.

"I've been ordering from Mikes for a long time now. When I saw these bad reviews I had to give my story. It's shirt and sweet. I'm a long time customer for over 10 years and get fast service with high quality cigars. The few times I had a problem it was solved quickly. I'm a customer for life "

Perfect Cigars and Great Turn Around

"I wanted to take a minute to highlight the great customer experience I received at Mike's Cigars. I got what I ordered delivered when it was promised and the sticks are in perfect condition. I always spot check delivery humidity levels to see if I need to give the cigars some time in the humidor before I smoke them. These were delivered at about 65%. Perfect!


I told a friend about my experience and feel the need to write this review. The reviews here don't adequately reflect the experience I have received at Mike's Cigars.

Like dried out cigars with the wrapper coming off?

"Then buy from Mikes. You will get old, dried out cigars that have been in a dry warehouse for a few years. I do not even know where they get this junk from. Don't even bother to call "customer service", no one picks up and no one answers your email. This is a rip off operating that should be shut down.
I bought $59 worth of cigars on Groupon and all 10 were dried out, one was crumbled in the box. Called CS, no answer, wrote and email to both mikes and groupon, no answer.
Screw them both, buy your cigars from J&R, at least they will be fresh.
Bottom line - stay far away from these frauds
