"I have had one of my worst online buying experiences with the DA Stores. I bought an ‘in-stock’, expensive, white leather sectional that was prominently displayed on their website and here is a list of everything that went wrong:
1) There was NO communication from DA Stores on the delivery timeframe after they received my payment. In fact, I had to call to get my online order status changed from ‘pending’ to ‘processing’.
2) After 4 weeks, I called them to check on the delivery and they said they’ve had to add a couple of weeks due to the Chinese new year (yes, that’s where they ship from). Even after those 2 weeks, I had to keep calling to check on the status of my delivery. They finally delivered after 12 weeks.
3) The delivered sectional had missing pillows/ backrests. On contacting DA Stores, I was told that they NOT be able to commit to a timeline to complete my delivery. So yes, I got the delivery but it didn’t look like anything I’d ordered nor was it usable.
4) The delivered goods were damaged and I was asked to send in pictures of the damaged goods by their rep (name withheld). Upon follow-up I was told that rather than filing a claim, they would like me to get the repairs done myself through a local repair shop – and, of course, pay for the repairs myself. Upon insistence, they agreed to pay $75 for a self-repair kit from Walmart or Target. The offer was both insulting and aggravating.
5) Good luck trying to reach your rep live; even their mailboxes are full and unable to accept messages.
In summary, please do NOT try to buy from DA Stores if you would like your purchase to be delivered on time and if you would like to remedy an incomplete and/ or a damaged delivery."
"ordered 2 nightstands in December - which still show as "usually in stock". They charged my card right away and the items were to be shipped soon thereafter. February, my order was still processing, so i called and they indicated it would ship soon. March, it was firm that it would ship March 30. They apologized for the manufacturer delay. Just contacted them April 9 and the order still hasn't shipped, so i canceled the order and asked them to credit my card. What a waste of time. "
"Online shoppers beware! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They do not follow up, or follow through on orders. The only time they contacted me was to get my credit card number (they claim did not keep on file). I ordered a sofa and a matching coffee table last August, and after email inquiry and a long wait my sofa finally arrived in November. Emailed and asked about the table and was told that it was still on back order. Waited till January 2011 and emailed to find out the status and was informed via email that they have no record of me ordering the coffee table and the received another email with "perhaps you ordered the coffee table from another company." After several calls and emails they finally acknowledged that I did order the coffee table and was given three option: a substitution, reorder and get it delivered around end of April or May, or a full refund as third option. Opted for a full refund and was told that the refund check was mailed, will be mailed over and over but they never delivered. They finally credited my Credit Card account partially when I filed a complaint with the BBB and the California State Attorney's office of Consumer Affairs. They somehow satisfied both above agency and case was closed, but they still owe me the remaining amount and an apology letter. They kept emailing me that check will be sent and asked for my home address (not on file???) which I kept emailing them , but still no check. I am still waiting for my check for remaining amount and an apology letter. I have all email, phone records and other docs to back up my complaint."
"Because the price was so good (with free shipping!), I was worried that I was just giving my money away to some unknown entity. But from the first time I called customer service to track my order, I got right through to a rep that was helpful and clearly based in the US.
Unfortunately, when the shipment arrived (via a well-known freight carrier), the package was severely damaged as were the contents. And since I didn't immediately report the problem due to long days at work, I just knew they would ignore my plea... website says within 24 hours. Not an easy task when photos must be taken, uploaded and described.
But not only did they respond quickly, but they sent out a new shipment without argument. Unbelieveably, the second shipment was also damaged, but left this one with the driver. Once again, they responded quickly and gave me the option of trying again or cancelling the order for a full refund. After speaking with the manufacturer, they realized it wasn't going to get any better until the packaging issue was addressed. So soon thereafter I received another email stating that a refund was the only way to go. Best of all, I didn't have to send anything back and I received my refund in full on my next billing cycle.
So I don't know what happened with others to have given them a bad rating, but my experience with this merchant was pleasant. Amazingly so considering the low cost. Everyone I dealt with was professional, courteous, patient and most of all, helpful. I would definitely recommend them."

One item is not the quality I expected for the price I paid and recently found this particular item in a local furniture store for less than half of what I paid. This leads me to believe that Modern Furniture Warehouse is very overpriced for the quality of products they sell."

"This place has some of the lowest prices I have ever seen on the Internet. I purchased a drafting chair for $132.00 with free shipping. They were $35 cheaper than the next best priced offering on the Internet. I purchased the chair on Sunday. It shipped on Monday and it was delivered by Wednesday. I also checked out their BBB rating and they had an "A" rating with no identified problems. They are good! Fast shipping and the cheapest price by a long shot."
