"Ordered an AMD AM2 4400 CPU on from Monarch on 23 May and used PayPal. At the time Monarch's site said it was in stock and would ship in 2 days. I cancelled this order on 30 May as no word on shipping date and news that AMD was stopping production of 2X1mb cached AM2 CPUs. After numerous calls and getting the same story about changes in accounting dept, have to contact the credit dept manager, refunds must wait 5 to 15 days, etc, still no PayPal refund. I will most likely have to go the PayPal resolution route. Monarch Computer appears to be an enigma. Well positioned in the Southeast and Atlanta to become the "Newegg" of the region. However, due to either gross mismanagement or an operating philosophy as first a system builder then secondly a compter parts store, they are flailing and headed for an eventual demise. I would be a total supporter, both as buyer and supporter, if their business practices and parts buyers customer support improves. At the moment this seems unlikely and that is such a shame. I'm fairly certain that in the next few days I will be asking for my refund through the PayPal resolution process and will limit my future PC parts buys to the West Coast."
"Purchased a videocard from monarch. I cancelled the order the next day and they still charged my card.
Two months later and they still haven't reversed the charge AFTER contacting them 5 times I've had to repeat my problem over and over. The first time I was just dismissed and told it would take 15 business days THEN they said the servers were messed up and they lost some canceled orders THEN they said they would print and personally walk my canceled order to the right place THEN they said they would get special permission to cancel the order themselves. The last time I called they said they have no notes about someone saying they would personally cancel my order. I've been dealing with this from 5/06/2006 till 06/22/2006. I am in the process of doing a charge back. Whats funny is the second to the last time I called they told me that all charge backs are contested. Weak.
Be aware that as soon as you place a order with monarch they charge your card. I've made lots of purchases with them in the past but this did it for me. There are too many other companies out there fighting for the same dollars to waist any more time with them."

"I purchased an SD card from Monarch computer. The next week after I still hadn't received my item, I decided to call Monarch. I was put on hold for 40 minutes and someone gave me a reason that it's a new item and the shipment had been delayed from their warehouse. That was fine, I didn't have a dire need for it. Another week goes by and I still haven't received it, after which I decided to cancel the order and purchase elsewhere. I called for a refund and the person said "2 to 3 weeks for processing." That was 6 weeks ago. I sent several emails, left messages to no avail. Finally disputed with my credit card company... be warned!!!"
"Monarch Computer Systems website showed item to be in stock and available for shipment by FedEx 2 Day Delivery within 3 days from date of order approval. I contacted the company twice between June 13 and June 16, and received a reply on June 16 that the order had been shipped. On June 19 the website order status shows the item shipped but no tracking number. I'm not sure whether I'm going to get this order or not. My opinion is that Monarch Computer Systems is having some serious problems meeting customer expectations, and as a result I will never order from them again."
"Monarch used to be very good, but my latest experience has been terrible. Three weeks waiting for my items to ship, and then only a partial shipment ... the rest on back order, when everything I ordered said it was "in stock". They also charged my credit card right away so they have been using my money for three weeks. They don't respond to emails or phone calls at all. I finally cancelled my order and will probably have to dispute the charges with my CC company. Stay away!!"

I placed an $570.97 order on the date and paid with paypal. The order was canceled and I waited a month and still didn't get my refund. I emailed them 2x during the perios and have not received any response.
it's now been 1.5 months I called 3 times this two week and spoke to a rep and got the same reponse.
"I will send a refund from to the refund manager and they will give you back the refund to your paypal account. it should be next two days"
still no refund. the last time I called I was put on hold for 15 minutes than I got an answer machine. I called again and got the same "forward to credit manager" story so I ask to speak to a manager..
The guy said she was busy and to ask me to leave my name and telphone number.
Still no call back, email response or paypal refund yet..

"I had placed an order on May 29 for a custom furia 2. I had read the reviews on this site about monarch and decided to go along with this company even tho the process was a little long. The thing that turned me off after ordering is the dishonesty of the company.
I had ordered a system with the new amd am2 mobo and chip. They list things in stock even if they are not. The chip was backordered and one of the representative emailed me promptly telling me about the delay. I was okay with that. I even upgraded my 2 7900gt to 7950gx2 because I was okay with the little delay. The representative who handled the upgrade told me everything was in stock on the 9th. The problem came after everything was in stock.
Every representative you talk to would give you a different shipping date. I was told first June 26, then a date before, then later the 30th! The website says 10-5 days to build. Everything was in stock on the 9th!. The problem is are they going to change the date again? After struggling on the phone to figure out wtf was going on and getting no response, I got fed up and cancelled my order. the guy who handled my cancellation said there was no penalty or restocking fee. Little did I know, that wasn't the company policy...I wouldn't have cancelled the order if i know i was gonna get hit with a $375 restocking fee.
I called to complain and got a hang up from this one rude lady which kept refusing to listen to what I said. I then talked to this guy and he was very helpful and understanding. He went out and found out who took my cancellation call. He then confirmed that I was misinformed by one of their representatives and therefore, I get my full refund.
Refund takes over a week. So we will see how things go for now."
