" Placed an order on the 23rd of May....they never shipped the order, and didn't notify us about it. I sent them an email 4 days ago and still haven't heard from them (its June 5th), and they have no customer service number to call (that I've found) only a link to an email. I will not be buying from them again.
*****
I am amending this rating due to a misunderstanding. Monarch did (unbeknownst to me) send an email to my mom (for whom I was building a system) about a product delay.
Also, I was personally contacted by a representative who read my Resller Rating post and offered me a discount on the merchanise I was purchasing, asked if there was anything he could do to *right things* and also made a great effort to help me troubleshoot my system once I received it. I found this to be an outstanding experience even though I was initially very upset. Way to go Monarch!
Unfortunately, my system still isn't running, however according to the forums I've been reading lately, it is likely a motherboard vender issue rather than a supplier (Monarch) issue."
"Their customer service is non existent. I have yet to receive a formal email from anybody that works there to explain to me why it would take 4 business days to just even sent two items. On top of that I paid for 2 day shipping and it turns out that I will not receive it for another 3 days. Be aware that these guys will take their sweet time to fill the order no matter how urgent you need it. Contacting them the way they request by email or their online submission form is a waste of time since all you get is automated emails. Back in the days where mail order took some time I could understand this but in today's time where everything is done electronically I do not get why it would take more than 1 or 2 days to ship two items!"
"Easily found what I was looking for, and their coupons and deals and unmatched. I used a coupon off of PCPerspective for quite a bit off, which is the reason I ordered there. Shipping was prompt, although annoying that I had to sign for the package, as I go to school during the day and work at night.
Newegg's got some competition now...:D"
"I ordered a system in early April which shipped slightly late. Just over 30 days until I took delivery.
The system was rapidly overheating right out of the box. I could run under no load for about 8 minutes before it shut down. Systems can be returned for replacement only so I called support rather than trying to diagnose the problem myself. After receiving no answer to several calls I finally reached support where I spent nearly an hour on hold. The tech I spoke with was excellent and after a few minutes we determined that way too much thermal compound had been applied to the CPU. Compound was squashed all along the sides of the CPU and was really very messy. I cleaned it up and the heating problem cleared up. Anyone who has installed a heat sink knows not to use that much thermal compound. It was extremely amateurish and I felt the need to review the assembly of the entire system for any other mistakes.
Monarch promises "48-72 hours of burn-in diagnostics and a 62 point Quality Control inspection" but I simply can't believe that this was conducted in my case. I don't see how a system in my condition could have passed the testing they claim to conduct. I paid $75 for the convenience of assembly and testing which was a total waste. Monarch also claims to flash your mobo with the latest bios but this wasn’t the case. There was a revision from February that they missed. They simply do not live up to their claims. I will never order again and I suggest others look elsewhere especially for an assembled system. If I had ordered parts from Newegg and done the assembly myself I would have had a properly built system in 2 weeks for about them same price minus the assembly fee.

"Great prices, quick communication, and easy to deal with."
"Well, I see that there has been alot of people with problems here. I must say, I've ordered from Monarch once in the past, and they had speed shipping so forth. I ran into a problem with them this time, They was suppose to get Retail processors, instead they got OEM. They called me, to tell me this. They said, "If you want the OEM, We can offer a 3 year monoarch warranty, with a heat sink and fan." I was able to choose the heat sink and fan I wanted (pay the difference between the two), which was really nice. I ordered more from them, because of thier service to me. I felt very good. I felt like the belt over backwards to help. I will switch all my dealing from newegg to monarch.
Thanks again!"
"Had a little order hickup but were real nice about it and upgraded most of my order for a value of $50-$60 more. Nice!"
"Great service called to update me on status.
Will definitely do buy from again"
"Excellent service! Customer responsive and genuinely concerned. Would not hesitate to buy from this company in the future."
"I heard about this store from two sources: word of mouth from a friend and price quotes from www.pricewatch.com. I felt pretty confident that I was going to get exactly what I ordered and Monarch Computer did not dissapoint. My order was processed and shipped within a day and came to my house in two days, as advertised by the shipping mode I selected.
The product came in perfect condition and not a scratch in sight. The only minor inconvenience is the fact that FedEx requires a signature in person with all of your purchases from Monarch. A signature on file will not do. However, Monarch apparently does this to help fight fraud by verifying who receives the orders.
I WILL BE returning for future purchases."
"I had originally written a really bad rating, because the item i had originally wanted was said in stock when i ordered, than 2 days later, the site changed saying the item was on backorder, but yet i didnt receive a email.
I than had cancelled my order, putting my imput in as to why i felt this way in cancelling this item.
Not even a day later, I had posted a bad rating on this seller, and than I got a call on friday by Sterling who in my opinion is one of the nicest and most helpful guys from any company that I have ever done business with, and corrected the situation, finding a OEM version of the processor i wanted (I didnt mind oem). He also had it next dayed to me (saturday delivery) and also added some free shirts and hats.
I received it before noon on saturday (the next day) and I was very pleased and grateful.
Next time i look for some computer parts or peripherals I will definitely go to monarch computers first, because mainly of Sterling.
After I had lost faith in this company, he was there to correct the situation leaving me a satisfied and pleased customer.
Thanks A lot Sterling.

" This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and after I got my product, I had to immediately return it for repairs.
I placed my order for my custom modified computer system. They claim that the order will be shipped in 10 - 15 business days from time of your order. After about 13 business days I called to find out if it had shipped. There were problems with the case, so they had not even began the build. Then there were two other issues with the hard drive and the video card, but no one had EVER, EVER contacted me in any way to either inform me of the problems or look for direction from me on a solution. All told, I pick up my computer 25 business days after order. If I had not made several calls to check on the status, I am confident it would have taken much longer. Many times, they don't answer the phone and when they do, most times you are put on hold for up to 30mins.
When I showed up to pick up my computer, they then informed me I needed to have the credit card that I purchased the computer with in hand so they could make a photo copy of it. No one had ever informed me of this and I had spoken to them MANY times about when I could pick up the computer. I did not have the card with me and after I almost competely lost my temper, they worked through the red tape and allowed me to pick up my computer, that I had paid for a month earlier and had driven about an hour to get.
I brought the computer home and the sound card had been incorrectly installed and so I had no sound. The video card was also only working part of the time and I later found out that it was bumping into something on the mother board. This led me to wonder how they could ever have tested the computer and not known that these two most obvious items were not working correctly. I returned the computer for repair after having it one day. They made the repair within a couple of days and there seem to be no further problems for the moment.
I really hope that I don't have other problems with this computer, because dealing with their customer support is maddening. I am a completely mild mannered and even tempered guy and dealing with this company could turn me into a raving lunatic. I am soooooo sorry that I purchased my computer from this company!"
"Some very helpful people in tech support, but watch out for their record keeping. I was supposed to get credit for a video card I returned. I was then told they didn't have it. Then they said they had it. Then they said they didn't. Then they said they did. Either way, they indicated I couldn't be refunded unless I had the tracking number even though they had the card. Then I asked what card they "hadn't received" and they couldn't tell me. Of course, all of this was after they slipped in a downgraded card (in error I hope!) on a warranty repair and then sent the wrong card to replace it. I sent the company a detailed summary of transactions and asked the company to show me how I was not owed a refund and they punt my questions. They won't answer anything. People I've dealt with at Monarch have been helpful and nice...it may be a few supervisors or upper management that is aloof and responsible for the problems you may experience. I was told they recently upgraded their computer system which may help out a bit. It is quite bothersome however that they show more concern for their bottom line than making sure customers don't get ripped off. Especially given my experience with them being prone to make errors and not claim responsibility. Be careful with this dealer!"
"Aparently monarch's customer service seems to think an upgrade to overnight shipping will alleviate their insanely slow service. After spending 5 days processing my credit card, they sent it to their warehouse. I was assured it would ship friday(26th), and called friday to verify, and they said it would ship that day. It is now Wednesday and the product has not shipped. According to customer service it has been boxed and ready to ship since friday, so either they lied to me, they are awful at tracking their own boxes, or they like to make people wait. Either way it is unacceptible, as they are the only company in the 8 orders places on or since the 17th that has not delivered my product. Also customer service lieing is not tolerable."
"I placed an order with Monarch for an eVGA video card for my aging AGP system. They had a decent price and offered a free game as a bonus.
I requested that the item be shipped to my work location due to the fact that they state that all packages require a signature and I'm not home during the day. No problem...I thought.
I altered the billing address of my card to reflect my work address after they indicated that they were unable to charge my card. I don't blame them for wanting to ship to the billing address as it's a fraud prevention technique and I do support it, however, they claimed that they were still unable to charge my card after I had made the change of address. I grew tired of e-mailing back and forth with their billing dept just for a video card so I asked them to cancel my order. They pleaded with me not to cancel but I persisted. I then received an e-mail reply indicating that my order was marked for cancellation.
Problem solved right? WRONG! To my great surprise, I discovered that they had in fact put a charge on my card for the item and never shipped the product. My order showed as being cacelled on their site but suddenly they would not respond to e-mails and were difficult to reach by phone. After a number of failed attmepts, I filed a dispute with the card company who informed me that they have up to 30 days to credit my account. I think this is unacceptable. I was able to reach a Monarch rep who informed me that they were 10-15 days behind schedule on credits. I asked that he e-mail me a statement indicating that I have a credit pending which he promised to do after verifying my e-mail address but of course I never received an e-mail.
I'm happy to report that my card company did stand behind me and refunded my purchase price but I'm extremely dissatisfied with Monarch computer and will NOT make a purchase from them in the future."
