"On Saturday, December 23rd, I had a 9am appointment for an oil change at the 1640 Post Road, Warwick, RI Monro location. I chose to drop off my car as it was Christmas weekend and would be able to spend my time more productively than sitting in a wait room.
My family has used this location for various reasons for over a decade as initially the customer service was impeccable. Unfortunately over the years, the customer service has dwindled but we continued to utilize this location as it was convenient. This has all changed after the appointment on Saturday.
I dropped my car off for 9am and after not receiving a phone call that the oil change was completed by 3:30pm, I stopped by thinking they must have forgotten to call. When I went into the shop the individual I spoke with had to ask the mechanic the status despite my key being the only key on the board behind the desk. He came back and say "I apologize but it is going to be next day" I explained I had a 9am appointment for an oil change. I asked if I was forgotten as an oil change is something that should not take more than 1 hour and he replied "no" that they "had a lot of walk-ins and people waiting for their cars" and since my was dropped off, "they are seen first". I asked if I had just waited with my car at 9am if it would have been done right then and there and he nodded his head in agreement. The shop did not close until 6pm which would have given him an hour and a half to complete my oil change but this was not even offered. I took my car back as my family was going out of state the next day. Not to mention a 2 day oil change is laughable. Right next door to this location is a Valvoline that has oil changed in 20 minutes for a few dollars more.
My take away from this experience is that Monro has no customer loyalty, if you drop your car off, you have no idea how long they will have it and their customer services is extremely poor. Thanks for wasting my time."
