"I bought 2 new tires for my 2011 Honda Accord from TireRack. A local Monro dealer was their recommendation to do the mounting. Cost according to TireRack was to be about $29 with mounting, balancing and disposal. I asked to have the rear tires balanced at the same time. Final cost $53, a little steep but not the end of the world. What happened next got me though. The manager informed me that the rear alignment was way out, that I should get it aligned right away and I should get new rear tires as the existing ones were really cupped. I passed on this opportunity and asked to see a print out of the alignment to see how bad it was. The manager said that the printout was unavailable. I was also going to do an oil change at the same time just because I was there and it would be more convenient, I use conventional motor oil but was told that corporate policy was to only use synthetic as that was the manufacturers recommendation, end of oil change. I paid my money and was out the door. The next morning I went to Sears, where I have gone since the car was new, to have an oil change done, with the motor oil I wanted. As a courtesy they too did an alignment check, with printed results. Interestingly Sears said the toe was out a bit on the front, camber was fine, rear end had no issues at all. There was no comment to do any alignment or that I should get new rear tires. Why do I feel I was being sold a "bill of goods" by Monro?"
