"Avoid Monro at all costs. The individual garages will not stand behind their work, and are very condescending, and the corporate office seems to encourage that attitude. My story:
After 4 new tires were installed, it came back with 2 tire pressure sensors leaking. They would not admit fault, tried to sell me new sensors that they would install (at normal rate, of course). They actually accused me of lying, saying that is why I got new tires, because the old ones were leaking. An untrue and baseless accusation. "
"Very friendly people. Got the job done quickly efficiently explains everything very helpful I think your prices are average."
"Always a great experience dealing with honest people!"
"The technician provide a knowledgeable selection of tires and prices for me to choose from. Also recommended an alignment to insure the proper wear for the new tires."
"Excellent service, friendly staff. They gave my car a thorough inspection and didn't try to tack on additional issues when there weren't any. "
"Rick and Jim was great. Thanks Again PS I will be back, with all my cars."
"I've been a customer of this shop since I moved to the area 10 years ago. Unfortunately the new management at this place is terrible. I dropped my wife's van off to have the front brake rotors, that were warped, and pads replaced. They called later to tell me that the rear pads and rotors also needed to be replaced. I doubt this was the case but agreed because I wasn't there to check them out. A week later I took the van for a drive and heard a screeching noise every time the brakes were pressed. I brought it back over to the shop and was told "we used crappy parts". I was then told they were going to replace all four rotors and pads again with better parts. This was without them even looking at the car. They said they had to order parts. and that I could come back the next day. When I returned they told me the parts were not there yet. I returned again several days later and was told that the manager never ordered the parts. I made an appointment for 3 days later which I took a day off of work for and when I arrived I was informed that they couldn't do it because the manager's father died to which the other tech behind the counter giggled. I was also told that the lead tech's mother died. In all of this time I had never received a call to change my appointment. I immediately called the corporate customer service line and was told they would talk to the area manager and call be back. I did not receive a call that day so I called them again the next day. I was told that the area manager had not called them back yet. I called again the next day and told them that I want to go to another non-Monro shop to have the brakes redone and that I would return their parts for a refund. They refused and offered no real help. I've since filed a formal complaint with the MA Attorney Generals office and am waiting for them to respond. It's one thing for one manager at a local shop to treat a customer this way but when the corporate customer service has zero response it truly says something about a company.
After the review and before their response the brake noise got progressively worse. I took the car to another one of their shops that was about 30 minutes from my house. I made a 9:00 appointment so that I could have the problem fixed and then go to work. They didn't touch the car until 10:30 First they tried to blame it on my parking brake, which it wasn't. Then they discovered that a caliper bolt was missing explaining the grinding noise. Scary! The manager tried to charge me $5 for the bolt that the other shop forget to put back on. The front brakes were still screeching when he asked if I wanted to take it for a drive. Unbelievable. He tried to send me back to the original shop to have the pads replaced. I didn't get out of there until around 3:00. After I got close to home I could hear a rattle in the front driver's side tire. I had to return to the shop to have them fix the pad shim that wasn't in properly. I've since taken it to another mechanic because the back brakes were still making noise. He had to lube everything because Monro didn't use any lube anywhere.
I received a callback a few days after I called them in regards to their response to this review. I told them this whole story and the supervisor actually said "Mistakes happen". I won't be making the mistake of going to one of their shops again. The two days off of work trying to get them to fix their mistakes cost me more than the brake job. Not to mention the danger they put my wife and kids in.

"Great service and attention to detail. Also like free tire rotation and other services offered at this location"
"Monro gets you right in and their service is quick. Friendly staff and great service."
"Friendly, quick and inexpensive. Will definitely go back."
"I visited Monro in Hamden, CT. I am very pleased with my service. I came in wanting a synthetic oil change, tire check, and brake check.
The synthetic oil change was done at a reasonable price ($75 + taxes and fees = $85). I called Meineke to compare prices, and their synthetic oil change starts at $89.99.
I feel that the mechanics at Monro did a very thorough inspection of my vehicles tires and brakes. They gave me an excellent run-down of my car's condition (one slightly warped tire, possible bearing wear, possible shock wear). I do not feel that they tried to cheat or over-sell me. The mechanic made sure I understood exactly what was going on, and I really appreciated this.
As to the quality of the work, I cannot attest to Monro's maintenance and repairs. Like most people, I'm not knowledgeable enough about auto mechanics! Still, I felt very comfortable with their work. I will definitely return for my next oil change. I'm not sure I will do major repairs here, because the hourly rate is quite high ($105/hr). "
"I usually go to the shop in Jamestown, but Jim the guy in charge was so terrific (besides the guy who did my car) that I will return to this shop from now on. Both my cars will go to shop #50. Fast, effecient, friendly service..."
"Quick service, cheap oil change with no hidden fees!"
"I visited the Monro located in Lancaster OH and I am very pleased with the service I received. I have never been treated with so much respect and felt like I was not being cheated. Thank You for the awesome service Josh!!"
"I have always taken my vehicle to the Jeep dealership for my oil changes and spent $30/oil change. I went to Monro and my experience and the price will make me go back when the time is appropriate for another oil service."
