"I ordered a DVD which would not work. When I sent it back, I received a message that they would NOT pay for return shipping because the region was was indicated on the site. (Amazon) So, for a matter of $3.20 which I asked to refund, they lost a customer. AVOID these people!"
"I ordered an item off of eBay, and was sent the wrong item. I immediately contacted them to let them know I either wanted my item ASAP or else issue me a refund. They said they'd send me a return label and the item would reach their warehouse in 2 weeks and then they'd refund my money, but they also told me that they couldn't email me to tell me my refund is on the way (suspicious. huh?). I was never originally told they use DHL (I wasn't aware DHL did domestic shipping) and they are slow. I paid an up charge for "Expedited Shipping" and should've received my item in 4-5 days instead of nearly a week. Now with repeated messages to the company thru eBay I get the same, robotic-like responses. These are ridiculous return policies. You should be refunded the money right away since it's THEIR mistake. I've filed cases with BOTH eBay AND their local BBB, so hopefully I'll get something out of it. I'm now out $37 (I'm tight on cash and can't afford to be out money this holiday season). I'll NEVER be using them again, as I've already purchased the same book elsewhere and got it in 2 days for LESS. "
"I ordered a CD from them in March. It arrived and was broken in several places and would not play. I emailed them twice and then called them. The very friendly lady who spoke with me sent a mailer for me to return the CD with the promise that it would be replaced. That was a month ago and still no CD. So.... just like everyone else in the world, I illegally downloaded the disc. ...So much for supporting independent musicians and doing the right thing. Never do business with moviemars"
"They will scam you out of money for horrible quality and the customer service is useless. They are also the slowest workers and liars. Only reason I ever did business with them is because barns and nobles orders through them, also advise avoiding them because they don't care and won't assist."
"I have never heard of "Region Restrictions " and find it odd that MovieMars distributes from Indian Trail, NC which is in Region 1/A1 to my location which is in the same US region and would send me a movie for another country. So the shipping and handling to return the movie will cost more than the movie itself. Very frustrating!"
"A number of their movies only work in certain types of players sold in other countries (not the U.S.); they do not reimburse for shipping on orders even if the region was not clearly identified on the DVD link. I was told to return the DVD and would be reimbursed for my costs and shipping, they only reimbursed the cost of the movie so I was stuck eating the cost of shipping a DVD twice that I no longer have and they did not replace it with one for my region. I was told it was not their policy to reimburse shipping for order errors."
"Be careful when you order from these idiots!! No matter where you live they will charge you sales tax and claim they are located in your state. This is a form of THEFT!! BEWARE!!!"
"I placed order #1 directly from MM on June 24 for 4 CDs. Later that same day I ordered a CD from MM thru BN.com. (MM's website was very badly designed; they would say they didn't have an item, such as the CD from BN, while simultaneously saying on both BN & Amazon they had it. The order form moved characters from 1 place to another; i.e., my first name showed as Jo-AnnP.). Order #2 (thru BN) came on July 3rd; that = 10 biz days. Meanwhile, my 1st order kept not shipping; I emailed them about it on June 30, inquiring status. Never got direct answer, but on July 1st (that's 7 days after I placed order) got email showing DHL had it. That package went from NC SOUTH to GA, before coming north to me in NY State! DHL had it 5 days before it got to Albany PO on July 7; then Albany kept it for almost 72 hours before sending it up to me. I get most of my packages of any kind thru Albany & NEVER have they kept something this long before shipping it up; doubtless was due to the free shipping. In all, 14 biz days elapsed before I got my CDs. Of course I have since gotten my credit card bill & seen that MM did move with alacrity at charging me; I placed order on June 24 and was billed on June 25. Very good service! The question I have: if I hadn't emailed these clowns inquiring status, would they have shipped at all? I had planned to order a great many CDs from them, but will never use them again. "
"Movie Mars is a Joke. I would recommend NEVER ordering from this site. I usually do not leave reviews like this but I am so frustrated and upset with there service and others should be aware of how awful they are before ordering from them. I ordered 2 DVD's over 3 weeks ago and they said they shipped in March... but I didn't place my order till June so that's impossible. After contacting them several times I still have yet to hear back from them nor do I have any my items I ordered. THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE EVER! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. "
"I bought a book from these people on Ebay last week. I wish I'd come here and read others reviews of them first. They didn't ship for FIVE days, and then only after I sent them two messages, twenty four hours apart, asking about it.
I've gotten no less then four rude messages from them since then.
Apparently they think they're too big to care about their customers. "
"I had ordered from them in the past and my bad, I forgot what slow service they offer and POOR excuses to go with it and made the mistake of ordering from them again. I won't make that mistake again.
I ordered a CD that 2 weeks later (and after the email saying it shipped on May 18th) is STILL not here. If this is what they do, one would think they would at least TRY to do it right. Lots of excuses and very little service. Shame on Amazon.ca for even allowing this vendor to sell on their site!"
"Ordered on Friday, received an automated email saying order shipped. On Wednesday I received another message saying my order is now shipping.
I asked why it took 3 days. Olivia said it entered their system on Monday and 2 business days is normal.
Well Olivia, I have an email from Friday said it was shipping then. Also, 2 days is normal? The majority of places I buy from ship no later than the next day, and it was not 2 days, it was 3. While that's not the end of the world, that is still a long time.
I asked her why do I have a message stating Friday when it was sent Wednesday? It has been 3 days with no reply.
I will never do business here again. I didn't check reseller ratings first or I would have never bought from this place.
Thankfully my order was very small.
Horrible, terrible service. "
"Ordered a DVD. They said they had four in stock. After several days, I got an email saying they were still 'Working on my order". When I emailed to inquire what that meant and to better understand when I may receive my DVD, I was told that the order should be shipping within 1-3 business days. Exactly 3 days after that I got a refund from Paypal, with no explanation or communication from Movie Mars directly. Frustrating experience, to say the least. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service and ultimately, I didn't get what I ordered. What is there to like in being treated this way? Massive FAIL, Movie Mars!"
"Well, it looks like I should have come here first before dealing with movie-mars! I had the misfortune of buying from them via Amazon.ca (which in the past was a safe vehicle for online shopping). I got a defective product that they say they will replace if it was damaged by them or in shipping. And even then, I must ship from Canada to N.C. at my expense. Not worth it. Will avoid this outfit in the future and be more careful about market sellers on Amazon in-general."
"Ordered a movie through Barnes and noble 2 weeks ago. I kept checking the status and it said shipped several days ago. Then this morning I got an email saying I was being issued a full refund and will not be receiving the dvd. No explanation. No fault of Barnes and noble- the vendor is Movie Mars. I'll be sure to steer clear of them in the future. "
