"This company is a internet scam. They sent us two dead sticks they called "trees" and would not accept a return or offer a refund of any kind. I lost $100+ dollars and had no recourse, other than hours of arguing with my credit card company over the phone. Apparently only an "expert" can pronounce a tree officially dead. Go read all the reviews at Dave's Garden before you buy anything from this company. AVOID!!"
"I ordered an Incrediball Hydrangea. When it arrived it was extremely small, almost dead and was just basically a couple of sticks. When I called Nature Hills to complain about their product, they told me they had many satisfied customers and hung up the phone on me. I will spread the word not to order anything from this shady company."
"I ordered a serviceberry shrub last May. When it arrived it looked like it was dead - little sign of life in the branches and completely dried roots. We planted it, gave it several months and the only sign of life was slightly green under the bark when scratched.
We contacted their service personnel who said to give it time to recover. Fast forward to today, 11 months later, and only 3 of the dozen stems have the slight green under the bark and the rest are completely brown. We contacted service again and was told about their replacement "guarantee" - we have to pay half the cost of the plant again plus their exorbitant shipping cost.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice, shame on me.
I know which plant company I will NEVER do business with again.

I purchased trees on two occasions. On the first occasion, the tree never shipped and I inquired. Then they shipped the tree.
On the second tree, it didn't ship so I inquired again. They said it wasn't cold enough. I checked again in December and they said it was too cold. I asked for my money back. They said I had to call in to do that. I called in, and they promised my money back. A month later, they still have my money and I have no tree."
"I ordered 2 pomegranate trees and 1 lilac. Pomegranate trees arrived first and in very poor condition. Neither of them was of the size described on the website (woefully small), leaves yellow and falling off. Stock looked like it was dying. It was not simple to resolve this. Due to the condition of the pomegranates I didn't want to take a chance on the remaining lilac. I felt I stood a good chance of receiving another grossly inferior product, so I cancelled the lilac. Today I find out I'm being charged 10$ for cancelling the order. Nature Hills is taking advantage and their charge is absurd. They should step up and waive this fee based on my experience and their terribly disappointing pomegranate trees. Shameful behavior and sorry customer service. I'll never order from them again. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!"

My first order (2 trees) did very well so I decided to try again with some bushes I couldn't find locally.
They are a really nice size and appear very healthy.
So far I am very happy.

"I didn't find this review site until after i had already sent in my order, so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I order a royal empress tree and also a couple different varieties of roses. The tree and roses I received in the mail were as described and I received them in about a weeks time. It's been several months since I planted these in march and they are looking beautiful! I'm glad i didn't cancel my order because I have something to show off to my neighbors now! "

A year later 4 of the 5 trees are dead. The 3 of the 5 did not even bud. Only the American Sycamore is doing well, actually very well. Nature hills has a 1 year warranty but make sure you read the fine print. They will replace the tree within the year but it will cost you 1/2 of the going price at the time of complaint and you have to pay ALL the shipping. Why would anyone dump more money into a company that sends out 3 dead trees out of 5 and a year later only the one tree is alive. So I basically paid $228.12 for 1 tree. Quite a rip off!! And no it is not the planting of said trees that killed them as I have planted over 123 trees and only lost 1 other tree. 4/5 trees died vs. 1 out 123. My recommendation Find another nursery. So what if they are the #1 nursery in the country. They won't be if they keep on sending out dead or dying trees. I will never use them again. Check out other reviews of Nature Hills Nursery

"I ordered 5 virburnum bushes from Nature Hills online for $184. My first issue was being charged the full price, not the sale price. I called and they said they would credit the $7.50, but this never happened. When they had not shipped after 10 days (but my credit card had been charged day one), I called and inquired. They told me they would not ship until fall, but the web site never said that. I asked them to cancel my order. I waited another 10 days and the credit did not show on my credit card. I called them and they said to wait another 10 days. When the credit still did not show, I filed a dispute with the credit card company. Only then did the credit show up, minus a "10% cancellation fee." Do not do business with these people; they are crooks. "

"Do not buy from Nature Hills they are outstandingly terrible at costumer service. Quite often the type of plans that you will be sent will be plants too young to withstand temperatures and claimants that nature Hills said would be fine.
I have tried to contact them to return the orders only to find out that I need to ship back the plant that is dead back to them in order for them to give any sort of consideration for a refund. So I attempted to do so and I've been trying for over a month and have not received a phone call back or any assistance. They will call you back right away if you want to buy a product but they will not call you back if there's any issues which is why I say do not buy from nature Hills. Meanwhile they have decided to hold onto all of the cash that I paid them with no refund or phone call back"
