"so, i had these guys for over a year and am very dissapointed. such a great idea, but it is so easily exicuted by redbox........ "
"I just got off the phone with Customer Service because I've had a West Wing DVD (Season 3, Disk 3) stuck at the top of my queue with a "Very Long Wait" for about three months. I spoke with a front-line person (Paul) and his supervisor (Sean). Both young men were pleasant but evidently limited in how much they could help me. They said the same thing (and I paraphrase): “that’s controlled by the shipping department and we don’t have access to that department”. When I asked to speak with Sean’s supervisor, I was advised that this simply was not an option. I was frustrated that I had just uncovered a possible “bug” in the Netflix shipping program and there was no one to tell! So, I decided to remove the DVD from my queue and re-add it. When I got to the screen to select it, I noticed the reviews. It was interesting to read at least three others (on the first page, alone!) that complained about the very long wait for the same disk.
Netflix was once the leader in the DVD mail-order and video-streaming businesses and it’s a real shame that they don’t seem to be listening to their customers. I’ve been a member since 2004 and have had almost no problems over the years. Indeed, customers should simply expect quality service (e.g. DVD’s mailed quickly, high-quality video streaming) and that’s been the case for me for eight years. However, it is the manner in which a company deals with its problems that truly defines its level of quality. If this is the best that Netflix can offer (to me and evidently many others), then it’s time for me to start looking elsewhere. I doubt that another company can offer as many selections as Netflix, but I’ve decided to help another one grow. If anyone reads my comments and knows of a good alternative to Netflix, please let me know. Thank you! My name is Dave and I can be reached at ****@****.

"I signed up for Netflix today and looked at the movies they had to offer. Pfff, what a joke. I cancelled it immediately. What a waste of my time. I am so glad I did not keep it and throw my money away. I do that on stupid stuff already. Crappy movies at a crappy price--thanks Netflix for making Americans bend over and get ripped off everyday without realizing it. :)"
"I don't see why so many people are saying that it's bad. i'm fine with netflix. i had an issue with an offer that was sent to me and that i didn't receive the prize yet and they solved it in 10 minutes. At least I don't have to talk to Indian people from Dell"
"Updated 7/21/12
Netflix is horrid.
Over the two years I have used them CS told me to, and I did the following:
Replaced my HDMI cable
Replaced my wifi with a cat 9 direct cable
Replaced that cable since I was told it was bad
Replaced my Panny DVD player with a Sharp player
Net result: No change
My take: Netflix throttles
Note: I have consistent download speed of 760-960kbs, that's 6 times what is needed for hi-def 1 gig/hour download.
It was great when it worked, but most of the time it would revert back to 4/12 bars... terrible, and slow.
I hope someone else comes along to compete with them.
Listen up! Netflix is a necessary EVIL.
When your picture quality gets bad, go to your account online and reset the quality to "best." They throttle.
Also, their pathetic CS reps will SET YOU BACK to LOW if they don't like you!
(Try this for bad: "Change your channel" (On a hardwired modem to Blu-Ray???) Buy a new cable. (I did, no help) It's your Panasonic Blu-Ray player. (Nope, I bought a new player same problem.
The problem ALWAYS seems to be that they reset you to LOW quality.
Go online, find your account and RESET to High Quality!
Someone, someone, please come and compete with them!!! Where are the Chinese when you really need them?"
"Netflix sucks!! The price is reasonable and for a couple months you can watch movies you had forgotten about or never seen but for the most part their movies are old...outdated....and uninteresting. I ran out of things to watch before the split but after it was like I just went to the site and thumbed through what I could watch and left disappointed. You got 8 bucks to throw away....go for it!!"
"when they split services,i only kept the streaming..only one dollar less than what i used to pay for streaming and dvd together, but what can i do their blood suckers now!!!but now main problem you can only watch one at a time.contact customer service, told me i can di two at a time if i put my dvd back,****you netflix..will leave you soon!!!!"
"I am giving Netflix a very GENEROUS 2 stars. The ONLY reason Netflix earns more than 1 star is because of their TV series collection available for online streaming. I was able to watch the most recent seasons of many popular shows such as Grey's Anatomy, South Park and Jersey Shore. But, the episodes of hit TV shows only go so far. I signed up for my 1 month free trial in late September and had watched all the TV shows I wanted by the 1st week of October. After this point, I found that the streaming selection is absolutely horrid. I searched common movies, such as Titanic (which, mind you, is not only a very common movie but also over 10 years old) and it was not available for streaming. So I searched a more recent movie that came out in the past year, also not available. Everything I have searched says "available by mail o DVD" but it's not available for streaming. I'm kicking myself in the @$$ for having not canceled my membership soon enough, because now I've had to pay $7.99 for a month of useless crap. Don't waste your time beyond the free trial membership."
"I was reasonably happy with Netflix until they split up the streaming and mail service and raised the price of my subscription without even notifying me! When I went to contact them about this I discovered that there is no way to email their customer service and that I would have to wait half an hour on the phone to contact them, wasting mobile minutes. Unbelievable! They obviously don't give a (*&(* about their customers."
"So I cancelled my disc subscription and sent my discs back before I left town. Well these idiots sent 2 more discs AFTER I cancelled and now they're wanting to charge me $28 because I haven't sent them back. This is just one of many issues I've had with them.
By far the most annoying company ever!"
"Good selection, instant playback, and low monthly fees."
"Great site, but selection is little. Hope to see more."
"ok problem solved sorry for the review netflix,i guess this has to do all with pirating movies and TV shows from their servers, hey by the way to all who use crack software and buy stolen goods or even pirating movies or how about those idiots who sell boot leg movies ,HEY THANKS FOR KILLING THE ECONOMY WAY TO GO IDIOTS, AND THE BIGGER IDIOTS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT THEM BUY BUYING CHEAP CRAP, SORRY NETFLIX !!!
i am so now totally dissatisfied with netflix, even more now since last night on the phone with Microsoft with conference calling, seems like to me netflix is really poor communication and support and everyone there seems to be programed to say the same thing or line to everyone, Microsoft was amazed to hear how the people at netflix cant handle a situation, Microsoft concluded that the support was so bad that i am still in contact with them and they want to get the problem fixed ,on the other hand netflix doesn't care or even try to help solve the problem, when we asked to speak with a supervisor, she sounded like the rest of the workers there's and even more clues about the problem and just kept saying we don't support silver light, thanks Amy ????????? my problem is i am running windows xp pro 64 bit, i can use silverlight in hdmi mode in full screen with nooooooooooo problems on any website that uses silverlight, if i go to netflix and try to watch movie in hdmi mode on my computer to my tv the same way every other website use silverlight but on netflix I CANT SEE A PICTURE JUST SOUND, AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG ON THEIR END,SURE THERE IS ,SURE THERE IS, i used the 2.0 version for 4 weeks, then it asked me to upgrade i dont want to upgrade,i cant veiw movies in hdmi mode with other versions just 2.0 and now that 2.0 doesnt work i cant watch any movies except for in pc mode only, what a joke"
"I really like customer service, no extra long waiting time and very helpful."
"I will cancel the membership soon. It takes forever for the DVD gets to me. When you ask they will blame on the USPS. So if you receive only 3-4 movies a month. That's more expensive than you rent at Walmart Store. The instant movies most are OLD movies; it's not worth the money. "
