"I writing about the online service which was terrible. I cannot speak for the stores because I haven't been to any. Shopping online from the UK I bought a dress for what i thought was £210. After I checked out, they charged an additional £78 in taxes and postage which was excessive. When we tried to return it for a refund because it was the wrong size, they would only refund £238 charging us twice for 'services and handling' even though we had to pay for the postage our end too! They didn't respond to emails and couldn't find order details on live chat. The website and merchandise suggest real quality, but all we found was sharp practice and shabby customer service. Would avoid if I was you."

Their buyers are generally great, and the stores stock high-quality and reasonably-priced apparel and other items, particularly shoes (they carry highly unusual sizes; Nordstrom began as just a shoe store in downtown Seattle and the company has maintained the shoe side of the stores particularly well). Best of all, the return policy is superior, and if a product does not hold up, Nordstrom will take it back without hassle. "

"Ordered 230$ uggs (with tax- 250$) to be delivered by mail since they didn't carry them in the store. They said it would take 3-8 days and it did take the full 8 days. Also when I received them they where used and not in original packing. It had looked as if they where returned and just shipped out again without any care or inspection what so ever. I am extremely disappointed and shocked considering it came from such a large well known business. I expect much much more from them. If I knew that I would get a used pair of uggs for the same price as a new pair I would have just ordered directly from UGG. deffinately do not trust the mail away from Nordstrom"

I ordered one dress.
It cost $20 to be shipped to me and now it will cost $35 to be returned. Buying and returning one dress from cost me $55. Imagine a store that charges you $55 just to try something on? and not to mention that it took 10 days to arrive, and the box was smashed and crumpled when it did.
While I do not expect free shipping - $55 is outrageous.
I will never, ever, order from them again. I am so profoundly disappointed and embarrassed to have squandered my money this way. There are so many other great online US retailers that ship to Canada like LL bean and Lands' End - that it's shocking that their system is so bad."
"I LOVE shopping at Nordstrom (in store and online)! It's SUPER easy and they have the best return policy. I bought ten (10) bridesmaids dresses online, shipped two sizes to each of my 5 bridesmaids so they can choose their size. Returning the unwanted size was so convenient! Also, the dresses went on sale, so I was able to get a price adjustment on all the dresses! I would definitely recommend Nordstrom! "
"Just received my Nordstrom order. I purchased skin care products from the Philosophy brand and got a free gift with purchased which I wasn't expecting and I loved it. Shipping was very fast. It was suppose to be here on Friday, March 23rd and I received it on Wednesday, March 21st. Plus, it was free shipping. I will definitely purchased from them again. Everything arrived nicely packaged and it was fast. Very excited to have received my product earlier than expected. "
"I'm a little disappointed at the look of their site now. It is nowhere as easy to navigate as it used to be and I was only buying make-up! The other disappointing thing is that, if you use one of their coupons, you can only use one online. I have $40 in coupons that I could use all at once in their store but am only able to use $20 online. The shipping is free now which is a plus. The small bottle of makeup arrived in about four days but in a HUGE box. Cracks me up - you could have fit 20 bottles in this one box. Thankfully, as stated above, I didn't have to pay for shipping or I would have been ticked."
"I have had nothing but trouble with Nordstrom with my first foray into shopping online. I ordered a pair of boots and they arrived promptly. Unfortunately they were defective as a section of the sole was commin unglued from the boot. I was messed around so much trying to return the boots and recoup all the money I had paid (they wouldn't exchange re Australia) and they wanted me to pay these huge return costs to send the boots back. I was online with so many different 'customer service reps' over the next 3-4 weeks trying to get it sorted so that I wasn't footing the bill for the defective product they had sent me. Finally they agreed to pay the return postage and credit me pretty much all of what they had cost me to get them to Australia. Foolishly, I then dicided to give them another try and reordered the boots. This time they sent me a pair of USED boots of a completely different colour than the original ones that had been sent and that I had ordered. I'm starting to think the company deals in seconds and used items. I haven't got the time, energy or inclination to go through the return process yet again. I guess being an Australian customer means you get treated like crap. Complegtely disappointed with the whole scenario and will NEVER use Nordstrom again."
"I just had an awful experience with Nordstorm.com.
Nordstrom was once a reliable retailer but sadly it appears as though at least the website part of the company is not up to providing quality service.
Where to start?
1) No giftwrapping option for my item
2) Recived an email saying item was shipped with not tracking number available. Three days later I get another email stating item was just shipped and now I have a tracking.
3) The clothing was obviously opened and returned. Clothing just placed in a box, no bag and a brown tissue wrapping with a broken seal.
I could get a better customer experience ordering from Sears.
Very sad."
