"Nutrend has been great.

My previous computer was a Power Mac Performa. I was very satisfied with Apple--especially their service. I had a defective mother board. They sent a tech to my home to replace it free of charge.

So I was worried about coming back to Windows especially after earlier unhappy times with DOS machines.

Windows XP was pretty new when I bought this system. Nutrend service has been really fantastic. I speak to the same tech all the time. He always calls me back within an hour max and he is really on top of the game.

Whenever there has been a troublesome component--they have immediately authorized its return and sent a replacement.

They have guided me through a couple of upgrades even when I didn't purchase the gear through them--only because they didn't happen to have the item I wanted at the time.

I always check them first since their prices and service are truly unbeatable.

I wholeheartedly recommend these guys with no reservations.

"I order a new monitor the ViewSonic E70f+SB 17" cause I was sick of my packard bell 15". I looked at another site but they jacked up the price right before I got paid so I found Nutrend on pricewatch.com and from resellerratings rating it convince me it was ok to buy from them.

I order Friday May 2nd and it was shipped that night and I recieved it the following Wednesday. This was the first time I brought from them and I had no problem with the order and the monitor works great.

I would recommend them and more then likely buy from them in the future.

"I ordered a CPU, CPU fan, and cable at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. I recieved the items just as ordered on Friday afternoon (Fedex 2 day for only $2 more). The ordering process was simple but registration was required. The prices were competitive though I was willing to pay a little more for the good reputation of good service through this site. I wish their parts selection was better but that apparently isn't thier main focus (which is building systems). Regardless, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again, and I will. My only complaint is the CPU was sent OEM and not in the package pictured. But for the price I'll get over it."

"Ordered a 1455 giga machine. It arrived on 4/23/03. I unbox it, plug it up and boot. Screen comes up. Then to screen showing ide irq settings etc. Hangs there for a long time... tells me to load recovery disk. After that loads the screen says, "Error 88 unable to find drive." Hmm... I boot this time with the xp setup cd thinking maybe the OS hadn't been loaded... annoying but not a big deal. Nothing... except an intriguing message, no hard drive found. Take out the disk reboot... sure enough in the boot screen there is no primary or slave drive displayed. Hangs again like normal. I call the company tech line while I open the case to inspect the ide cable and the power cable to the HD thinking maybe they were loose. Nope, snug into the drive. 40 minutes later I call the main number on another phone and ask to speak to CS. Ask them to note the file so tech support can see I called. Asked them to note I was having a HD problem. Mariba, the rep, said she could note I called but not my error etc. I needed to talk to tech, told me wait time shouldn't exceed 10 minutes. I waited another 20 minutes and then hung up. I'm posting here because CS staff for the company seems to frequent these boards. I'm hoping for a positive resolution. Will post more after I talk to tech.

Update: I did finally get to talk to tech support 2-3 days later. The gentleman's name was Eric. Very Nice guy and professional. After I explained the steps I had already taken he promptly agreed to ship me a new HD overnight without me asking!!! The HD arrived a couple of days later. I got home plugged it in, same issue. So I called tech support again. Spoke with another rep. Also professional but seemed to treat me with a bit of disdain. Maybe it was because it was close to closing time. He helped me but wasn't enthuisastic about it. In any case the tech helped me to get the PC to see the new HD. I then had to reinstall Windows XP. Since then the PC has worked great. Overall a B+ experience, oddly not because the HD had to be sent back but mainly because of the attitude of the 2nd tech.

My computer started acting up for the last month so I called tech support, they tried but had no success. I then sent the computer back to them, they replaced/upgraded my mb, installed an new xp2100(b) and new dvd drive. I guess my computer had a virus, so they didn't "need" to make it right but they did. My 1 year warranty expires in 7 days so the timing was right. They did all of this at no charge.

"I attempted to order a pair of headphones from nutrend on Sunday, and they charged my credit card right away. Three days later, still waiting for them to ship, I get an e-mail saying that they are out of stock, even though their webpage clearly says "Stock: Yes" on the item's page. I'll never order from them again."

"Order placed on 3/28 15:00, order received 4/2/03 14:30 (Case, mobo, cpu, ram, hd, cd, cdr, fdd)

Put computer together from parts ordered on 4/6/03, computer would not turn on.

Replaced p/s (power supply) with a known good (borrowed out of my wife's computer), and computer turned on.

I contacted customer service just a few minutes ago where I spoke with Mike. Advised him that I am co-hosting a lan party on Friday, and asked if we could cross ship (I ship defective part today, he ships replacement part today). He said he could not make exceptions from their policy, and they will not ship until they receive the defective part.

I explained that I would even be willing to pay a restocking fee (which would come out to a few dollars for the p/s) if he would be willing to send out the replacement p/s today. He said the only way he could do this would be if I sent back the entire case with the p/s (since they came as one). I advised Mike that it would be cheaper to buy another p/s from another vender than to pay the shipping on the case and the restocking fee. Mike seemed not to care, he kept hiding behind his statement "we can't make exceptions", giving me the impression that he did not care about the problem his defective power supply has put me in.

To qualify a vendor as having a "good" customer service department you HAVE to be willing to make exceptions depending on the situations that your business places your customers in. For this I give them two thumbs down, and after this incident, will not be shopping with nutrend again.

Was just contacted by Regina (sorry if I spelled it wrong) from nutrend's customer service department. She advised me that situations like this are not that common, and that they will ship me out a new p/s today (2nd day air so it gets here on Thursday). Regina also advised me that they will be sending me the 400W p/s in the place of the 350W p/s that came with the case at no additional cost. I advised Regina that this is exactly the kind of customer service I expect from a reputable company, and thanked her for attempting, and succeeding in resolving my situation. Nutrend has charged my account the price of the new p/s, and will credit it back after they process the RMA from the bad power supply I sent back to them on 4/7 (usps).

It would have been nice to get this kind of service when I first called in, but KUDOS to nutrend for following up and righting the wrong.

I will update again after I get the p/s. (Thanks Regina)

Received the new p/s on Thursday 4/10. New p/s worked just fine. Had the new PC up and running for the LAN party, was a huge success. I am now waiting on nutrend to proccess my RMA so I will be credited for the p/s they cross shipped. will update after credit has posted to my account.

Credit was received on 04/18/2003 for the cross swap of the new power supply. Have to say computer has been running perfectly, new p/s works great. All in all, besides a little unforseen complications, everything turned out great. I am overall pleased with nutrend, and would honestly say that I will shop with them again. Thank you for proving me wrong nutrend.
