"Wow.
What a scam..
I really wish I would have purchased the items I did from here on a personal card insted of a company card, I could have had my credit card company refuse the charges without going though somone else.
Evil #1 Bait+switch. 80GB HD became more expensive trashy Hitachi HD's when I was informed the only change would be from 5400RPM to 7200RPM
Evil #2 Payed for pretesting. 3 out of 4 HD's arrived at my door in DOA conition. One with a short that fed back into the IDE channels. Please note the Promise SX6000 card is an awesome card and survived! I would recommend that card to anyone. Would reccomend PCrapids to anyone I really didnt like..
Evil #3. Couldent speak a lick of english on the teliphone. NONE. spoke some language.. wasn't english.
Evil #4. Wouldent acknowledge a problem and kept telling me to contact different people.. or JUST HUNG UP!
Evil #5. You should see the return policy thing your forced to sign.. Basicly They are taking my drives back and MAYBE will send a replacement if they feel like it.
Evil #6. Only 1 working phone line out of three numbers given. All others have a constant phone system equipment busy signal on them.. Maybe its from 10000 PO'ed people... maybe...
Evil #7. Had the unmitigated gaul to include the line "We apreciate your business" on the bottem of their RMA disclaimer legal form.
Evil #8. Glacialy slow. This order went in December 16, 2003. Tried for months with no success dealing with them... Currently its August 11, 2004 and.... well.... We have a pool if the RMA will actually be returned with working drives.. Currently odds are 3 to 1 against.
Save Your money.. Save your time.
This isnt a business its a scam.
They took me.. I hope they dont take you.
Thought I could save a buck ended up costing me dearly.
Good luck and God bless.

"Total bait and switch company. Very disappointing that businesses still rely on these tactics. Unfortunate that consumers like myself have to waste our time and energy trying to find a reliable company with competitive prices. Beware of pcrapids.com, they are a complete waste of time.
This review is regarding order #909029."
"Th motherbord did not come with cpu retention bracket. contacted many times and i was told they will ship it. I endup buying it from another venter. cost me more money and more than a month to get the computer going."
"Horrible! They delayed my order for two weeks and they eventually cancelled it stating it was a "auto-verification problem with my credit card". They tried to say it was MY fault!! They either did not have the boards, or didn't want to sell them for the price advertised on Pricewatch. After this painful delay I went to BZBoyz and had the same problem. I've heard that these two companies are actually the same business. I'd recommend Infinity Systems Plus, Inc. My credit card worked just fine there, and will continue to do so."
"Total Switch & Bait - THIS COMPANY IS A
SCAM.
www.bzboyz.com, www.partspc.com, www.pcrapids.com and www.tufshop.com are all the same company.
Advertising on Price Watch to lure the unexpecting customer, promising a deal. They do not honor their prices and will not accept your wwworder as advertised."
"TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY!!! I purchased multiple computer components from various companies to build a system for a friend. I purchased the motherboard/CPU combo from PCRAPIDS.
First of all, NewEgg managed to get their product to my doorstep in only 4 days from the order date, and that was with standard ground. This order from PCRAPIDS was ordered the same day as everything else and took 10 days for 2-day Fed Ex. Way too slow and not worth the extra charge for shipping since it won't get there for many weeks anyway.
Then they charged me the pretest charge, even though I tried to uncheck it when ordering (apparently you can't opt out of this). They also sent me an email (4 days later) asking me to upgrade to the retail box, I wrote back asking them what the status of the order was and just to send it as is. They charged me the retail upgrade and never responded to my email.
To top it all off, the motherboard was DEAD when I got it. Pretesting? What a scam! I emailed tech support twice, no response. They guarantee a response in 24 hours on their website.
I tried calling tech support twice, but received no answer. When they did pick up the phone, a person says, "we're busy" and hangs up. This happened twice more after that. I talked to the motherboard manufacturer and they agreed that it was defective, so I called PCRAPIDS to get an RMA. Finally when I talked to someone in customer service (after about 5 attempts), he said (in barely understandable english), "I check on it" and hung up. This happened twice before I gave up. I sent a final email requesting and RMA and the website said that I would only be refunded $125 of my $185 order and they may not even refund the CPU, but rather exchange it. I'm out $60 and have a defective motherboard that I was charged $10 (against my authorization) to pre-test?? That's insane. THIS IS HOW THEY ARE MAKING THEIR MONEY!!! Very unethical and possibly illegal. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I called my credit card company, told them PCRAPIDS was unresponsive to my request for tech support and an RMA, and they credited my account for the full amount and said they would go after PCRAPIDS for reimbursement. As of this writing, I still haven't received an RMA. If I didn't have an awesome credit card company, I would be out $185. DON'T shop at PCRAPIDS, period!!!"
"excellent product and services.

"This company tries the bait and switch. They claim to have items at time of order, then they email you back that the item is out of stock and ask you if you want to pay a little more for an upgrade. No other options giving to provide what you ordered for the same price. This also delays the order. Stay away."
"i placed the order on 11-25-03...it is now 12-3-03..i still have not received my products yet, that is discouraging..on the brighter side, i have been kept informed of my order status along the way (plenty of emails)..i am building my computer and all i need are the final products from this order to complete my masterpiece...SUGGESTION: speed up the order completion, shipment, and delivery process...P.s. i actually ordered 2 items from pcrapids.com and have not received the second item yet either..."
"I liked their website's ease of use and they had a nice selection. Just enough to make a good purchase decision on."
"I was very pleased with the fast and prompt service that I received from pc rapids I was referred by a friend and I will continue to use your online service in the near future. the case that I purchased was received undamaged not a scratch I haven't been able to use it due to the fact the motherboard was bad. don't worry I did'nt purchase that from your company. thanks for such fast service. krista wilkins "
"Not worth the trouble for the lower price. I was very dis-satisfied that after they cancled the order I was still contacted to purchase upgrades for an order that was not going to be sent."
"This company advertises 72 hour turnaround on orders and yet my order had not even shipped after a full week. Checking on the website showed the order being "in process". During this time I did receive a "bait-n-switch" email offering to upgrade my order with bigger, better, faster, etc. I phoned in several times asking about the order and was told a representitive would get back to me, but I was NEVER called. Eventually, I cancelled the order."
"PC Rapids did not have all of my order in stock. They tried to clear old inventory out by selling it to me as a comparable part (part was not even compatible). I had to contact them for the upgrade that they said just ask for it in the “comment box”. And the final straw was they could not verify my Visa Card. Their costumer reprehensive spook poor English and was rude to me on the phone. In the end I canceled my order and will never do business with them again."
"in general it was not much different than other internet purchases i have made. i do suggest that we be able to get to a more precise catalog, ie; instead of going through each and every manufacturer you it would be more convient to just list items and pictures. my last item i needed was an intel 3.06ghz processing chip without the fan and heat sink. i went through hell trying to find it and finally had to just email you with the specifics hoping for the best, even though i had been assured by an email by one of your representatives that i could just purchase that item. some of us out here are looking for smaller items than you make available. thanks for you time."
