"Plastic Jungle (PJ) specializes in the buying and reselling of retail gift cards. I sold two gift cards to them a month ago totaling $85.52, and have not received any payment. They received the gift cards and were supposed to remit payment within ~4 days. Originally they were supposed to deposit the money into an online account via Paypal. After a week with no deposit, I contacted them and they told me that they tried but could not deposit the money and there must be some issue with my account. I called Paypal. They told me that they had no record of anyone trying to make a deposit into my account. I called PJ back. After I insisted that Paypal had no record, they realized that they were using the wrong account name to try to deposit the money and promised that it would be deposited within 4 days. Another week went by with no deposit, nor contact from PJ. I contacted PJ again, and a representative, Moses Patel, told me that they tried but could not deposit the money. Again, I called Paypal and they had no record of anyone attempting to make a deposit. I called PJ back and told them to mail me the check. They said that they would expedite this case and mail it to me within 4-7 days, and I would receive a confirmation when the check went out. Two weeks later, I still had not received the check, nor andy e-mail contact. I contacted them and they said they would prioritize this case, get the check out to me in 4-7 days, and contact me within 24-48 hours with an update. This time, I spoke with a manager: Vishesh (would not give me his last name) whose employee id is 8401. It's been 4 days and no update, nor deposit.
In the mean time, they somehow linked my account with other customer service complaints, so I have been CC'ed on other e-mail exchanges with customers looking for where their payments are. On these e-mails, plastic jungle linked some personal information, such one person's volume seller agreement contracts. I notified PJ, but doubt they will notify their customers. I have notified the customer whose contract agreement I was forwarded.
Not only have they scammed me of $85, but I'm sure they have violated consumer privacy laws by forwarding me these other e-mails.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! It's not worth the headache.

"Now They want My Bank Account Number, Driver's License, etc..!!!
I have sold a few GC in the past and got paid via PayPal. Very easy.
Three days ago I sold 5 GC and received my Confirmation for each one, and was told a 2nd email would include a shipping label that I would Print to send them the physical cards. Later, I received an Update saying Status: Cancelled for all 5 GC without any explanation. So I wrote Customer Service because they no longer take phone calls. I wanted to know what I had done that was incorrect, and they responded I needed to fill out a Volume Seller Agreement and email them My bank Account Information, My driver's license, etc. The reason: the large quantity of cards that I sell to them. WHAT! I only sold 3 gc last year. Their response from India was that I Could Not sell to PJ unless I sent them the VSA and they approve it. I wrote them back and they responded with the same answer, that I sell too many cards to them and they're trying to make my High Volume transactions easier for me.
...Forget it, My PayPal is good enough to sell a few cards. So I went to another site gc.com and was quoted more than PJ. I am going to give them a try.

"Three times they canceled orders because I was not at my billing address at the time of the order. I was at the address each time. I will not be using Plastic Jungle again. Their system is flawed and the "customer service" below par."
"Very good experience. I signed up, payed by PayPal, and in less than 24 hours, my Barnes & Noble card was available for use. I completed my B&N order with no problems whatsoever, and saved 14% buying the card through Plastic Jungle. I'll definitely be ordering through them again!"
"I was really hesitant to use plastic jungle after reading the reviews on this site, but like another reviewer I did some research on the actual company, and they are doing great. Other reputable companies also recommended PJ so I decided to try them. I opened an account and bought 5 e-gift cards yesterday, and by 930pm that night all 5 were in my account ready for use. I applied them to the appropriate retailer and they worked fine, no worries, no hassle. I did have a PJ rep call me to confirm my account details, and they had a very strong accent which I had a very hard time understanding (I got off the phone still unsure of what exactly they said), but other than that there were no issues. Will definitely use their services again "
"STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Horrible customer service, canceled order for NO reason, no explanation given."
"I have used PJ to sell cards many times prior to 2012. They processed my cards and gave me payment promptly. I couldn't be any happier. This was when they responded to email inquires and when the customer support was in the USA and not INDIA.
Since January 2012, I have been trying to sell some Elephant
Bar cards which I never had issues with. Every time I submit it, the order would be cancelled right away. I called support and India picks up and tells me "your order has been cancelled due to technical difficulties, and we would not be able to process your order". WTF? What does this mean? No explanation besides I won't be able to sell them. Email support has not responded and it has been over a month. AVOID!"
"As everyone else says. AVOID! DO NOT USE! Unless you want to argue with incompetent people all day whom you can't understand. I paid them nearly $300 for a GAP gift card only to find it cancelled two days later. When I called, their excuse was "you were not in your billing area when you placed the order". I was sitting in my living room. How much closer do I have to be?? They told me I could purchase another (at a higher price/lower discount). No thank you. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else!"
"i've bought about a dozen gift cards from plasticjungle in the past two years. the first few where physical gift cards to cabelas, home depot, and bass pro shops. i had one problem last year with a cabelas card...i used it to place an online order but a few days later i got a phone call from cabelas telling me that the giftcard i used was bought with a stolen credit card. PJ was good about taking care of the situation by refunding me for the card but it was a hassle nonetheless. about a month ago, i used PJ again and bought an ecode for lowes. even though the order confirmation screen said i'd be receiving my ecode in a few minutes, i did not get it until the afternoon the next day. then, this week, i purchased five $25 bass shops gift cards. again, i got the message that they would be delivered within minutes. i waited and waited. by the next afternoon, they had still not arrived so i emailed PJ customer service. no reply. on the morning of the second day, i called PJ and they said it could take up to 48 hours. i was not happy since i was trying to place an order before a promotion expired. finally, at the 49-hour mark, i got the codes and immediately *tried* to place my order. three of the ecodes worked fine but two of them did not. the BPS website keep giving me a "card number invalid. it must be a 19,0 field" error message. i called BPS customer service to have them check the giftcard code and when i read him the numbers, he said he could not find them in his system at all. in fact, he said that one of the numbers includes a sequence that they have never used. ugh. so, i called PJ customer service and explained what happened. the woman was nice and said that she'd issue me a refund on the two that didn't work but i told her i didn't want a refund, i just wanted two ecodes that worked because i was ready to place my order. she said i'd have to place another order...well, i am NOT going to wait another 49 hours for the new codes to arrive. i'm seriously thinking the aggravation is not worth the 7-13% i'm saving."
"ORDER CANCELLED! I purchased posted e-code gift cards on Plastic Jungle using PayPal only to find the next day my order had been cancelled. I called and was told they were so sorry for that (from India), and I could re-place the order. Guess what? No codes available! A complete waste of time."
"I think most (perhaps all) of the negative reviews on here are fake. Below I explain why.
I wanted to buy some stuff from Bass Pros Shops. Found this site and saw I could save 13%.
I'd never done business with Plastic Jungle (PJ) before so I did my homework. The review on here for PJ are horrible which scared me. But I dug a little deeper (newspaper articles, Linked In profiles of management team, venture capital that has invested in PJ, etc) and I saw that every other source on the internet says these guys are legit.
So I placed an order with PJ at 9:51pm yesterday. Got my eCODE gift card delivered via email 3:28am. Just placed my order and the code was accepted.
Based on my experience, the positive press PJ has received, the venture capital they've been able to attract and the fact that anyone can write a phony review on this website, I've got to conclude that a competitor has been posting fake reviews.
And if you read the negative reviews they all sound the same (i.e. sent in my gift card PJ, PJ lost it, I had to talk to PJ's incompetent IT in India, and I eventually lost my gift card money). The fact that all the reviews are identical furthers my suspicion that the majority of the reviews here are fake.
If you're concerned by the reviews here I'd say dig deeper and come to your own conclusions. "
"I have used Plastic Jungle twice, and in both cases I had a good experience. I recently sent a $50 Target gift card for $46 to PayPal transfer. The letter was received and Plastic Jungle immediately transfered the $46 to my PayPal. I added my own tracking to the letter, and apparently some thing wrong with the tracking Plastic Jungle adds to the free shipping label. I believe their tracking bar codes may be fake, as no record was ever recorded by USPS while my own USPS tracking was recorded.
In the end, I had a good experience, but make sure you add your own tracking. Gift Card companies like Plastic Jungle are known for making excuses, so do every thing you can (for example, tape up the letter you send, add your own tracking) to make sure Plastic Jungle can't get around paying you by saying the letter was never received or ripped open.
A long time ago I sent in a $25 Best Buy gift card to Plastic Jungle, and Plastic Jungle eventually sent the check in return. I would say they are trustable enough, but don't forget my advice. "
"I stopped using Plastic Jungle a few months ago. Now I only use E Card Exchange (www.ecardexchange.com). They have been wonderful, I get my cards most of the time as brand new in just a few days. The whole team has been wonderful. Thank you"
"This company is a fraud. On January 4, I sold them a Barnes & Noble gift card. They sent a confirmation email that stated "GIFT CARDS THAT QUALIFY FOR INSTANT FUNDING No need to mail us these gift cards" and "Timing: We will send your payment of $40.50 within the next 24 hours.". I waited for weeks but no payment. I made the mistake of assuming payment was on the way and discarded the card. Payment never came. I called and emailed repeatedly and was told they were unable to "validate" the card. Now, I have no card and no payment. I called repeatedly to ask if they could retrieve the card number from their database so I could get it reissued from B&N. They told me they had terminated the record. What a scam."
"worst. experience. EVER!! It took alost 2 months to get our new gift card...and only because we called and called and emailed and annoyed them! We eventually reported them to the BBB and finally got our money! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I would give 0 stars if I could! They have outsourced customer service that feeds you the exact same line every single time."
