Awful once again! Brought 5 beautiful young girl's tops in again, and manager girl behind counter with horrible attire on shakes her head and yells "no," in front of the entire store! Tactfulness not needed to work here! Clothes looked dirty and worn way down! Not impressed again! This place is looking to rip off kids by selling used goods at premium prices. Go to good will. At least they appreciate the sale!"
"Each time go I In there they have turned me away even before looking at my clothes, but would look at at the person before and after me clothing. The second time this happened, I asked what is the best time to come in. The employee told me tomorrow (Friday) and to call before hand. I called and the employee on the phone was not professional, and I got turned away again. Needless to say I will be taking my name brand (expensive brands) elsewhere. "
"I left a couple of boxes filled with nice , gently used , popular brands for a teenager, early twenties market. When I came back for an assessment the sales girl gave me back the box saying “ take it somewhere else, we don’t have time “. Later today I listed everything as a bundle in Facebook Market and just sold it for $85. These Platos Closet are not you’re option. Avoid the bitter taste "
"Went to sell clothing and they only accepted 3 items that I took in out of like 40 at least. They didn’t even take the good quality items I brought in, they took the worn ones which were in ok/good condition. I had guess jeans and other quality brands which they didn’t even look at. I even called ahead to ask which brands they took and if they would take them, I was assured that they would and yet I was told that the clothes were too worn and out of style even through the shirts had been worn literally once and were bought very recently. I opted to donate the clothes they didn’t take because I didn’t want to have to bring them back home. My husband told me I should have taken them to donate somewhere else because they will probably take the clothes out of the donation pile and sell them after I leave so they don’t have to pay me for them, he’s probably right. I will not be going there again to sell clothes, it’s a complete sham and I thought if I take clothes there at least I’ll make some money for myself. Would have been better to just donate and not get anything at all, that’s how little money you get. I will never go there again and I recommend you don’t either! "
"Do not go to this store. The sales associate opened the changing room door on me and did not apologize—they flatly said “well I knocked.” I have worked retail and that is horrible customer service—they hire high schools who do NOT know how to put the customer first and empathize with having their naked body shown to the entire store (door was wide open and doors face the front of store) and including a male sales associate. A MALE as a female customer. That is not appropriate. This was horribly handled. Further, my clothes on the hold rack were all put back while I was in the changing room because of poor staff communication. Mistakes happen and the manager offered $5 off, but I have been going for years and this was enough to make me see that the brand has changed and sales associates don’t care about their customers. Go to Goodwills in the area with wider selection and good quality. "
"I visited Platos Closet recently and I absolutely loved my experience. I found a bunch of really cool clothes, even a couple high end name brands, and everything is in really nice condition. The workers are all super nice and my Cashier Megan was extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely be visiting again!!"
"This store is not worth selling your clothes. Even the brand new clothes are returned for the reasons best known to them. They basically want crisp, new high-end clothes. They are very selective and offer very little (peanuts) in return. Never visiting this store again. Not worth it. "
"So I’m not a 20 year old, but that doesn’t mean my cloths are out dated. Yet, none of my cloths, even dress that still had tags on them weren’t good enough. I was told they were all out dated. Really. Some of the cloths weren’t even mine??? I say BS "
"I am used to people pestering me to wear an illogical mask these days, but very few have been so bold as to actually demand you wear it, much less wear it properly. And I have heard of even less who will actually kick out a buying patron of their store for not wearing said mask properly!! If you doubt that anyone would be so petty, I would recommend you take a visit to the store then. ( Actually I don't.)
My husband went on to actually buy his clothes, or I would not even have an invoice, as I was forced to put my clothes back!!"

"Where do I start? We live 30 minutes away so we called to ask about what they’re buying, and we’re told to bring our things only to be told when we get there that their inventory is nearly full before we even walk in to give them our totes. They want to pretend like they actually look through the clothing you bring, but it's evident that they don't. They tell you that it will be 35-40 minutes to process and sort them, then text you 10 minutes later or less to tell you they're done. Upon returning, they want to give you a generic excuse as to why they don't want any of it, including "wear" when I saw a Walmart shirt on their rack with an unintentional hole in it and faded Dollar General workout pants. You’re kidding right? They want to talk about wear when most of the clothes we brought are near new, even some with tags. Let’s top that off with the attitude you get from almost all of the employees. One customer was outside giving away his rejected brand name clothing and was scolded for “loitering.” Don't waste your time trying to sell here nor your money fueling the less-than-mediocre customer service and shady marketing tactics. You're better off selling it yourself. One star is too generous, but it doesn't let you review otherwise. Speaking of reviews, their positive reviews aren’t legit. There’s just no way. Those people are either getting paid to review it, like maybe their second-rate employees, or people having some type of Chinese water torture done to them. "

"I went to the Plato‘s closet in Orland Park Illinois on September 15. I brought in some clothes for them to look at. I have been going there for a while and their doors are always very hard to open. It makes it even harder now that you have to bring your stuff in a bin or a basket so both your hands are full. After leaving the store with my basket I proceeded Out the door by having to open it with my hip. Both my hands were holding the basket but as I was going out it started to slip and I hit my back on the door handle. Employees never offered to help hold the door. This was very painful and two weeks later I still have a huge bruise on my back. I tried contacting their corporate offices sent them pictures and left emails. I was told the owner would contact me but that has never happened. Eventually I was able to contact a liaison to the district manager in which I forwarded all my emails and my pictures that I had sent to their corporate offices. I was just told that they would look into the matter of the door. Very disappointing won’t be bringing clothes there anymore. Definitely felt like they didn’t care."
"I have tried to sell nice decent clothing at this store lots of decent clothing! All Plato’s Closet gave me for one bodysuit was $1.50... Out of all the clothes I tried to sell they could come up with buying one bodysuit for $1.50??
I bought over $400.00 worth of clothes and they did me like that???
I will NEVER go back and WILL NOT EVER go back and have NOT went back since!
Your store is very deceitful with the selling and buying policy..."
"It took me a couple years to figure out what kind of clothing they do take they must be within 2 years old, freak condition and InStyle or something unique. They also started taking larger sizes, and if you fold and press out your clothes before you bring them in it makes it much more appealing to buy. I've had no problems in the Littleton Colorado store everybody has been so nice and helpful. "
