"They say they want name brand clothes and athletic apparel. This is the second time I have taken think to the same location with terrible results. I even had a pair of 90 virgoss Jean's and they didnt even buy them. The people there have no idea what fashion is!!! I looked around the store as I was standing there and the clothes looked like something from goodwill. My clothes were definitely better. Just wondering where they hire these people that make the decision what fashion is?!?"
"Honestly, with all the commercials I heard on Pandora radio i figured that my clothes would go for at least store credit. But no. They sent me a text an hour later just to tell me nothing I brought could be bought. I had brought all sorts of different clothes as well! Dresses, rompers, shirts, and a hoodie. Not to mention most of them being Hollister and Aeropostale.
Anyways, I donated them just cause the clothes had bad memories associated with them and I did not want them anymore either way.
Still, if you're expecting to sell to them be prepared not to get much back as these reviews say. It's true."
"One of the worse time of my life. I had four bags filled with shoes, boots, tennis shoes, heels there all barely new. And the rest with clothes that didn’t fit me. As soon as I walked in these **** looked me with the bags and gave me a dirty **** look like “shhiiitttt”. First the **** told me it will be a few minutes I’m like ok. 50 mins pass and still they didn’t even touch my bags. I’m like well I gotta do some more errands can I get a text when you’re done... they said fine with a rude manner. I got a text 30 mins later saying it’s ready and GUESS WHAT!!!!!! They didn’t pick Nothing!!!! With a despite look like thanks for bringing this In... but it didn’t match to our standards of the clothes like bands. And there out of style. “I’m like what the ****”” I even pulled out some pants that were Guess size 3!!! Really!!????
Whatever I grab my **** and the lady was in front of me also told me they don’t take **** here . I’m going to the Goodwill. She also had two bags. You know you’re thinking of getting some extra money on the shot you don’t want instead of the hassle in Ebay and other internet sites cause even in the commercials says... BRING YOUR CLOTHES IN AND YOULL MAKE SOME Money!!! **** that.. THIS **** OR THIS PLACE I MEAN ARE PATHETIC!!! No one this **** place has 1 star ⭐️ not even that we have to choose the worse eating wish there was a button for negative stars.. and this **** **** place is VERNON HILLS IL "
"Not worth taking time out of your day to shop there (Boulder location). Very nice gently used and new clothing I’ve tried to sell was rejected but I have found old nasty clothing being sold in the store. Furthermore, they send out a mass text about a $1 sale on all clearance .. which I, and many other customers took time out of the day to get there for it, only to find that the “big summer clearance” was a small half full rack of old shorts sitting out front. Very disappointed and will not be going back. "
"I went to Plato's Closet the other day and Willow Grove with five large bags of clothes, two of the bags were full of Free People clothes in brand new condition. They looked through all of my stuff, well over $1,000 that I had spent on them, and offered me $22. when I was looking at the clothes that they were selling in the store while I was waiting for them to sort through my things I came across a free people shirt for $20.
I went on let-go, I'm selling my Converses for $30 alone. That place is a scam. You're better off do donating them to Goodwill or people really need them. That experience I will never buy a piece of clothing from there and then. "
"I took my trendy Torrid, Seven7 Melissa McCarthy, Lane Bryant clothes in pristine condition and they only took 2 pieces. This was my first, and last time I will go there. When I left, I felt like I needed a shower. While looking around as I waited for them to go through my items, I was shocked to see what was on the racks, brands from Target, Walmart, Old Navy... Now, don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with anything of those store brands, but I wouldn’t have even taken those items to Goodwill, they were disgusting. "
"I brought by some nice items, Vans shoes, under Armour shoes, Nike shoes and some aeropostle clothes and they ended up out of two bags of clothing giving me $3.30 for two Danskin workout shirts. Their website says they want brand clothing but they basically gave me all my stuff back even though they say they buy all seasons year round. I will NEVER go back again. "
"These guys will never buy stuff from Black people have tried to sell stuff they won’t buy & when you look at the stuff they sell is just garbage at higher price. "
"29 and I don’t dress like a scrub I can tell you that much as I am always complimented of my attire but at Plato’s closet in port Charlotte they always make me feel like I do. Telling me my clothes that I are mall bought are outdated and not in style. I leave once again unhappy taking my clothes to the good will. My experience the few times I’ve been to Plato’s has been terrible I’d not recommend taking your items as they only tell you your outdated and out of style."
"I returned a shirt and Jean's and haven't gotten my money back and it's been over 2 weeks. I called the manager and they keep saying they will call me back or I've been payed already but I have no money or transactions from them on my bank account. It's only $30 but still it's the principal. I'll never shop there again. Hopefully I can get my money back one day."
"I bring a bag of clothes and they only take 4 American eagle jeans Hollister and 1 t-shirt and pumas shoes there where all in fair conditions they said $13 for the items when they sell them jeans for $18 There are 4 registers and only one was open people where just around and talking "
"Teenagers are the only ones who work there and they did not greet me or say goodbye or give me a receipt. But I did find two items from clothing from some of my favorite stores like Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters in good to great condition. "
"this was the worst experience i’ve ever had with giving clothes. i had a full bag and my friend had two full big bags, and combined they gave us $20. they took two items out of my bag, and four out of her’s. these were NAME BRAND THINGS (boutique dresses, american eagle, lily pulitzer, nike, etc.)!! do not recommend to anyone, what a RIP OFF! and ps they were rude. ALSO, they met season requirements (meaning that fall is coming up, and a bunch of sweaters were in there). "
"Girls there were super rude. Don’t greet or thank customers, throw clothes around like it’s nothing, and say rude things about the items people take to sell."
"****...i came with 5 full bags of clothes. All name brand, most of which have only been worn a few time. After 45 minutes of them digging through the bags, they took about one small bag back of clothes. And sent me home with items that were like new. We had 9 pairs of American Eagle jeans that were hardly worn, and we were given them all back. We drove 45 minutes, and ended up with **** results:("
