"I went to Plato's in Kissimmee to drop off a full large bag of clothes. Many of the items were brand new with the tags on them still. I happen to be a shopaholic and sometimes overbuy...LOL. I walked around the store as I waited for them to go through my stuff. The place was jam packed with cheap, no-name clothing that looked way over-used. I was surprised. I tried not to touch anything as the store had an odd smell. When they texted me to go back to the counter, they denied every item that I brought in saying it was worn (not at all) or they simply didn't buy those brands. I said yes, I can see that Loft is not up to par with your Old Navy and Wal-Mart selection here. Are you kidding me? The clothes they sold looked like street walker clothing, so I guess my taste is not for them. I proceeded directly to the Goodwill donation drop off and gave them everything. Someone will be happy to buy my brand new, unused clothing. I was offended by this place. "
"I dropped off clothes to sell them, which they were all freshly laundered, but they claim all of them had a smoke odor. I checked them and smelled them all. They didn’t have even a single bit of a “ smoke odor”. And apparently they aren’t accepting shoes right now? Lol. Conway Plato’s Closet is trash anyways. They claim they don’t buy clothes that have stains or that aren’t in style, yet half the clothes there look like someone just used it to eat their dinner off of. And most of them look like they belong to my elders. But whatever lol. Somehow Nike shirts and sweatpants and underarmour isn’t in style."
"Black Folks Not Welcome Here...I dropped my garments off to get checked, returned because I didn't receive a call, and was told my items was not excepted=,,, which is fine but when I looked in my box all the cloths was folded up exactly like I packed them... first of all you could have called me to let me know, and When I showed her the Nike Sweat shirts, Polo Long sleeved Shirts, I guess she didn't want to look bad in front of the other white shoppers... I will copy this message everyday until I'm heard.... Raciest people should not be in business to the public, put white served only on outside of the building. I had some of the same garments a white couple had in front of me. 0 stars They don't want their white buyers buying cloths black people wore. It's code DISMISS quietly if black people come in, they want us to buy but don't want to pay us. that is why they don't tell you in your face when you drop them off. because they can't let people know they can't take your cloths because you black.
I didn't see anything on the racks with any of the brands they claim they only accept.. just a lot of no name brand shirts and pants....which cashier took those in and paid for them. o I forgot it was a white person... I will contact legal advice and get the news in there with a fake black shopper...and see what happens you should not have a business if you can't serve all."
"I first went to the Plato’s Closet in Greensburg, PA. All of my clothes consisted of American Eagle, Nike, Hollister, Abercrombie, Victoria’s Secret and Lucky Brand. I had about 25 pairs of different clothes and she only took 8, telling me that it was due to staining or they didn’t take the brand. This made no sense because every item was worn once or never worn at all. I checked their website and saw that all my brands were listed as “Best Sellers.” I also went through every article and found no stains or tears. I then decided to try the Plato’s Closet in Pittsburgh. They did not take any of my clothes because they were “too old” and “out of style.” This also made no sense because their store consisted of clothing that looked like it was made in 2004. I take very good care of my clothes and I understand that not every article had to be taken but to take nothing was ridiculous. In conclusion, it’s a waste of time and I definitely won’t be going back."
"Now I know that these teenagers have no sense of of what high priced and good taste are. IE: I took 4 bottles of high quality perfume in to sell, and opi/essie nail polish (new).
Like the other ladies I was alsomade to wait at least 45 minutes. After all that time I was offered only 2 dollars for Cartier, Giorgio, Donna Karan and Ferragamo! Oh and 25 cents for the nail polishes. Needless to say I will NEVER be doing back. I told the girl that if she knew the quality of the perfumes and polishes, her answer " we don't have high prices". Since when?!?!?!
Also they do need to train the staff in customer service. Or maybe they just don't care.

"I had 4 garbage bags of clothes that included forever 21, victoria secret, american eagle and charlotte russe and they rufused to take all but 2 clothes from the bag. All of these clothes were in perfect shape and barley worn. I only got $4 for 4 bags that had about 40 different clothes. This place is a total rip off. Highly do not recommend at all. "
"I walked in the store with my sister, and combined we had 4 garbage bags filled with name brands, and half with tags on. Most of the clothes had been bought within the last year and were what we would consider still in style. After about an hour and a half of them digging through the bags. Let me remind you we had 9 new-ish pairs of American Eagle Jeans. They had a bin of the clothes they were going to buy, and it was maybe like 8 things. They took NONE of the jeans. As they said, "the rest of these clothes are not in style anymore". But Im sorry the things in that store looked like they were from 2010. And the two girls dressed the same as the store. They never honestly went over the prices, they just said this is worth $40. Im sorry but not to be rude, one of the hoodies with tag still on it was $35. But we took their offer anyway, because at the time we did not understand we could decline the offer. (which is on our part) But overall NEVER shop or sell your clothes their at this establishment, unless you are wanting to get scammed. "

"I bought a pair of jeans for my husband in the Exton PA store that were to small. I took them back 4 days later and the manager in that store was rude a d ignorant. She made me wait for a ridiculous amount of time and when she waited on me she acted like she didn't even want to help me. No please or thank you she acted like I was beneath her. She works in a used clothes store I don't think she should act like she's better than everyone else. She was rude ignorant and horrible. They should fire her . Train your people better. I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know not to go there because of her."

"I walked in to sell some clothes. The girls in front had to finish their conversation before saying hi. Then took them 45 minutes to look through the 2 bags I brought. And they didnt even look at the clothes they talked the whole time. Then when i asked why, the lady who gave back my clothes said due to staining they wouldn't take any of the items. Most of clothes were brand new and had never been worn. Not sure what stain they seen, because there were absolutely none. And when I asked she was so snippy with her response. She couldn't even make eye contact. What horrible service!!! I used to come here quite often and now I wont be back. Maybe hire people who actually know what customer service is. "
"I took two huge boxes to consign. Some new stuff with tags on even. Brand names. Worth thousands of dollars new. I know these places are picky, so I didn’t expect them to take many things, but they didn’t even take ONE. I’ve been to other consignment stores before and they closely inspect every article of clothing (and always take at least SOMETHING off my). Platos closet rushed through my stuff so quickly, a lot of stuff was in the same order it was packed, and much of it wasn’t even unfolded! Never coming back! The girls in there didn’t even look like they knew much about fashion anyway. Wearing old hoodies and jeans that looked to be a decade old, one dressed like a ****..."
"I had purchased two pairs of jeans for my boyfriend went home he tried them on and they didn’t fit, unfortunately my brother was hospitalized that week and I wasn’t able to return the jeans within the seven day return policy. I was two days late, had the receipt and tags still on them. I explained this to and the manager and she insisted there was nothing she could do. Had no help, didn’t even know customer service numbers to give me. And could care less. Wouldn’t even offer in store exchange. THE TOLEDO LOCATION ****. Avoid Brooke the “manager“. "
