"Never had a problem with PR for years until warehouse changed employees and changed from making an appointment up to 2 weeks out to having only 5 days after closing. And it takes 1-2 days after closing to get notified that item is ready for pick up, making really only 2-4 days. Rules are rules so thats not bad. But the new scam is when you win an item, it states closed and your 4 digit ID with your city next to it is showing as 'winner'. But when you go to account activity to get all the info for the winning item, it shows someone else won it and won it for $1, $2, $3 more. Bidding is only done by increments of $3 or more. So not only was your winning item taken away from you, somehow it was done post closing for a not allowed increment. This was a major complaint for many of us, last year and PR denied ALL of it but it stopped happening for almost 1 year and now its back again. One bidder I spoke with says its internal and they know a trick to bid a winning bid, post closing. Another bidder said its some type of hacking. PR response to me last year was if no money was taken from my checking, whats the problem? Well, the problem is that it breaks auction laws set rules. Once an item is won and is closed, that item goes to said winner and CANT be bid on and item taken away, post closing of item. I know of @40 complaints (10 are mine) and PR keeps responding with every excuse imaginable. This is for So-Cal location. Unknown for New York or Memphis locations. "
"PropertyRoom.com is an untrustworthy website that falsely labels products and ships items inconsistent with product descriptions. I ordered a ring that was described as "3.25ctw White Sapphire". However, upon receiving the product it was clearly cubic zirconia. Furthermore, after attempting to wear the ring, my finger became discolored due to the materials of the band immediately fading. I believe this is just a cheap drop shipping operation. DO NOT order from this site!!! Or at least be aware of the risks and misrepresentation!"
"Been shopping at Property Room for about 5 years. I have purchased jewelry, clothes, sports cards and coins. I check out the prices on the internet for a similar item before I bid. If the bid price plus the shipping is the same or close to the internet price I do not bid. Shipping: product usually arrives within 6 days. I received shipment updates which are great. Quality of the jewelry has varied, pictures can create the illusions that the item is a steal. I have learned to check other web sites for the description, price and condition for the jewelry, clothes and coins. Must read the coins description carefully and check coin dealers online. I have been very satisfied with the goods and service I have reserved from Property Room. EJ P"
"I wish I had read the PropertyRoom online reviews before making a purchase.
I won an auction for a cornet, brass instrument. The photos of the instrument were deceptive, in my opinion, because they failed to show more than 20 dents in the horn and other damage.
Four of the dent are serious, with 1/3 to 1/2 of the brass tubing crushed. There are three one-inch holes in the bottom of the instrument case where the luggage feet would have been. In the fourth corner of the case, there is a three-inch dent and cracking. The horn and the case have a putrid smell. The stink is so bad, I had to put the instrument and the case outside the house.
An estimate of the repairs from a local, reputable music shop: $50 per dent or $1,000 and $120 for an instrument cleaning. The case is not worth repairing or cleaning. The cost of the repairs and parts replacements are close to what a new or like-new horn would cost. Since I believe the auction photos are created to disguise and conceal serious faults.
Because I believe the PropertyRoom.com photos in my auction are deceptive and my personal experiencein this auction, I consider the website as misleading and untrustworthy. Avoid the PropertyRoom Website. Pursuing a refund is not worth my time and effort to confront these people. I want nothing more to do with company."
"I have never had a problem with propertyroom, mainly because I knew what I wanted, what it was worth, and what I was willing to pay (including shipping). Apparently, a lot of complaints are with shipping costs. I guess these people would assume that someone, as a businessperson, would be only too willing to send them something for nothing. WAKE UP! Would you buy, for a few thousand, a car - sight unseen? If I were spending that kind of money, I think I might insist on driving it first, and checking it out for mechanical issues. And the complaints about jewelry? I guess they wanted to buy the Hope Diamond for $25, and get free shipping on top of it. I don't work for these people, and have no idea who they really are, but I know exactly what I am interested in, I check out the prices, and then go from there. I got my granddaughters some inexpensive (cheap?) jewelry, and checked out the prices on Amazon. Propertyroom, including shipping, cost about $20 for one item, Amazon has then exact same item listed for $77. So I save about $50. Nothing wrong with that. If you are looking for a high-class piece of jewelry for an anniversary present, go to an honest-to-god reputable shop and pay the real price, you cheap so-and-so. You always get what you pay for, and it doesn't hurt if you pay with your eyes wide open. Know what you are getting, and why, and you should find this place fine. It seems to me that about 95% of the complaints boil down to, "I was trying to get something for free, and the b@stards made me pay for it." No kidding. "
"Emerald and diamonique earrings turned out to be glass diamonds and plastic emerald. Even the metal was a cheap wanna be gold plating over copper. The earrings were verified by a gem specialist. Needless to say I was swindled. "
"Melanie, in charge of FRAUD, is the biggest FRAUD out there. They claim they can't ship items separately, which is why the shipping is so expensive. They charge a ridiculous fee (over a couple thousand for me personally) to have each item individually packaged and shipped, except they don't actually do that. They ship them all under the same tracking number at a FRACTION of the cost. And if you do get a good deal and win, they find excuses to lock you out of your account so they can relist your items. BAD BUSINESS. They also don't have an answering service, don't return phone calls, but are quick to email a response. Something VERY SKETCHY about all of this. Please learn from my mistakes. "
"I won a few items at good prices but, they had issues with my credit card. They block my account for payment issues they claim. But is not true if you win something and if they are not happy with the price they will make anything to close your account so that you don’t get anything "
"I have been attempting to purchase a vehicle for the past three months. With the hopes of buying one at less than 2000 (a prius). The prices being asked for the vehicle as is, essentially the market price of a used vehicle in the market. I believed that i was being outbidded, so i was fine with that, however i noticed that the same vehicles go through bidding at least 6 - 8 time already within a month. It leads me to assume that these products are not being sold to winning bidders due to whatever reason, or this is some type of scam that involves insider bidding to hike up price, and as such whenever you see the item repeated it was sold to an actual bidders."
"Good site, good support . ."
"I purchased an item , had all the funds in my bank account to pay for item at time of purchase , but was denied the item because they tried to say it was fraud. B.S. I called my bank and they confirmed that there wasn’t and never has been fraud of any kind with my bank acct. . After being contacted once by property room I called and emailed them over 15 times combined to no avail . I was never contacted back after the initial contact and I see now that item was just resisted .Wait ! it gets better , after claiming it was fraud they took a 25% relisting fee out of my acct , wait . According to them there may be fraud with this account but they had no problem charging me out of that same account .WTF? If this isn’t a true scam I don’t know what is ! I’ll be seeing you in small claims court propertyroom , you are the frauds here.!"
"I recently discovered Property Room. I bid on and won 3 different pieces of jewelry. The two pieces I received thus far are fine as far as I can tell, but I am relying on the details that PR writes for the item.
I have noticed that it’s beginning bids are not competitive with other auction sites (eBay for instance) that often offer free shipping. They may want to look at comps before setting the prices to incentivize customers."
"click on cust service it says page does exist !!!"
"Spend your money elsewhere. This company has the worst customer service I have seen. After purchasing multiple items of jewelry in one day, I requested combined shipping. You would think I was asking for their first born child. The response was ridiculous and no one was willing to accommodate a simple shipping request. I followed up with the merchant that was selling through property room directly and became extremely concerned. This was not a reputable merchant and they could not remember the business name they were using. After speaking to the merchants they are partnered with, I do not have confidence in the legitimacy of their products. "
"i have purchased couple of vehicle from propertyroom
service was horrible - trucks were totally different from the description(which was run and drive )
most has serious mechanical damage -which made me lost a lot of $$$$$
BE CAREFUL "
