"Great service, no high pressure tactics or attempts at up-selling, the opposite in fact. They spec'd out exactly what I wanted, made some simple recommendations, and in the end (after a delay because of a supplier problem) the system ended up costing me less than initially quoted. Now that I've had it a couple of weeks, it's a solid, QUIET, beautiful machine, and I've had no problems. (gotta love the lack of bloatware, too) Haven't had any issues requiring support yet, but should it happen, I'm confident they'll live up to their billing. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for the kind of service you won't find elsewhere!"

1. I placed two orders for identical systems within ten minutes of each other, and they verified promptly over email that I intended to request two systems.
2. The standard customer service perks of Puget -- detailed order status to the point of obsession, a dedicated consultant who knows not just what you're after, but why, etc.
3. Knowing I was after a quiet system, I received a phone call from my consultant who reported that a certain piece of hardware was slightly louder than he remembered it during the building process.

You're not going to get anything like that from Dell. I admit I had a twinge of buyer's remorse when I ordered (being the first time I had dealt with Puget), given the premium over what the components would have cost me if I had chosen to do another home-build. "I decided to purchase a desktop computer through Puget Systems because I had gotten tired of the major manufacturers and their poor customer service. Puget Systems, on the other hand, got rave reviews online for their customized systems and excellent customer service. Taking a risk on a less well known brand of computer manufacturer was not an issue for me, as I am pretty computer savvy. When the computer arrived, it worked wonderfully -- for a day. Afterwards, all sorts of problems started coming up until by day 3 the computer was completely unusable. During this time, the Puget systems technical support was wonderful despite my frustration, and to my surprise, many employees across different divisions got involved to help me solve the problem. Since the problem was ultimately a computer hardware issue, it was decided that I should return the system for an entirely new one. I was surprised to find that the staff worked arduously, giving my system the priority it deserved, so I could get a new one built as quickly as possible. In a very short time, I had my new system, and it works wonderfully. I heartily recommend anyone thinking of buying a computer to go through Puget Systems. Since the computers are custom-built, you get exactly what you want, and most time, with better quality parts than those used by the major manufacturers. Their customer service is superb. Their employees are extremely friendly and ready to help at any time. Compare this to most computer manufacturers: Unlike Puget Systems, their customization is limited to the parts they have selected for you. So the options are limited. More important, the parts are not as high quality, and their customer service is often deplorable (I have had customer support at the major manufacturers actually read the manual as they spoke to me!). This is because they are public companies and their sole focus is cost cutting. So they outsource their staff to foreign countries and get the cheapest parts at the cost of the consumer because of course prices stay the same. Since at Puget Systems the technical support employees are also the ones who build the systems, they are extremely knowledgeable and patient and explain to you the purpose behind every component in your system."

"Customer service prior to purchase was simply excellent - couldn't have been better. I talked to them for six months before buying, and they were always there for me.

Computer construction was excellent. Their checkoff procedures is on the web for me to view, and it reminded them of each little task to perform. Construction was quick and flawless.

Computer Operation is flawless, with respect to their construction. Granted, Vista isn't flawless, but the computer was tuned well, built well, and runs wonderfully well. The Antec case is the quietest I've owned. I can just barely hear it, and I have three hard drives spinning very fast inside, with the CPU fan and case fans - very, very quiet.

Post construction support is excellent. I've asked their technicians a few questions and have received courteous and informative answers. A software glitch cost me my CMOS settings, and they helped me recover them very easily.

The configuration process was a pleasure. All the available components were clearly displayed. The input process was designed to have good human factors. All my questions (by email) were promptly and fully answered.

After placing the order, the ability to follow, in detail, the manufacturing, testing and shipping progress was nice and helped allay the concerns of dealing with a small remote company. All promised dates were met.

After receiving the shipment, the machine went together smoothly and came up nicely. The only problem was the display mounted speakers didn't work. "I ordered a basic photoediting workstation built around the IntelCore 2 Duo 8400 on an ASUS p5Q-E mobo. It was shipped 5 days later. I am very satisfied with the performance relative to the Dell Dimension 8400 it replaced.

Novice buyers should be forewarned that the machine comes with none of the step-by-step manuals of "name brand" computers. Some courage is required to pop the case and add drives/boards.

My sole complaint was the absence of an E-SATA to E-Sata connector, or at least, a warning not to use the internal SATA cords for external ports!"

Received my computer a week late. They had trouble with the restore software. Reason being compatability with a new motherboard they where offering. I felt that should have been resolved before it became an option. My computer arrived and was perfect. Realized it was missing free burner software. That was strange because the check list showed that software was operating correctly?????????
Conclusion, the computer is great. Clean install, no bloatware and fast. Would I Buy another Puget Computer. Without a doubt.
