7-13-08 Update: Now that I've had the computer for a few months and have needed help solving a registry problem that I had with Vista, I am thankful that I purchased my computer from Puget. Their customer service folks are exceptional. This was not the easiest of problem to solve, but Heather worked with me into the July 4th weekend to effectively troubleshot the problem and solve it. Puget provides good old fashion tech support that has long since been farmed out to cheap oversees labor by other PC companies. Additionally, I want to say that if you value a well designed quiet machine, Puget's line of quiet desktops are really a joy to use. The machine is whisper quite and powerful. You can't really say enough about Puget. Truly a rare company."

"When shopping for a company to build a custom computers, there are lots of them out there, but none with the stellar reputation of Puget. After ordering a system from them, it is clear why they have such a good reputation.

The pre-sales support was excellent - they really make you feel as if they want to sell you what you need and what works best, rather than what makes the most profit for them. The range of selection of components they offer is much larger than most, and includes all high quality components.

Even with ordering a E8400-based system, with a processor that was in scarce supply, the system was build and arrived exactly one week after I placed the order, which was right on the schedule which was estimated prior to placing the order. The packaging of the system (a box supported with solid foam place in a second larger box) and the details they provided - such as a sheet listing all the components in the system and the associated serial numbers - was above and beyond anything I have even seen before.

I did have a problem with my graphics card fan running a 100% all of the time, but Puget very quickly agreed to send me a new card before I had to send back the defective card. They also tested it before-hand to insure the new card fan did not have the same problem and paid for the shipping of both the new card and returning the old card.

Overall I couldn't be more pleased with the service and the system that was provided. They cost more than some other places, but the service and support you will receive more than makes up for the difference."

"so far, I love these guys. I had great help in configuring my system, it arrived on time and works great. they included a great binder with all my hardward cds and serial numbers, etc.
I have two small nitpicks - on their site, they show different shipping materials than I got. I would have preferred their foam blocks to the 10 million peanuts my machine arrived packed in. The second issue is that there was an error in the graphic showning which vga connector to use so I spent an hour on the floor swapping out monitor cables thinking either that or my new monitor was the problem. however, all is well and I'm pleased with my new machine. it's not as quiet as I'd hoped - so if silence is your issue get very specific with them about this."

"I was looking for a new computer for quite a while and after having a Dell, I wanted a company that was going to be more flexible for building exactly what I want. I tried Dell, HP, Alienware, and none of them could do exactly what I wanted. Then I came across Puget by doing a web search. I had never heard of them before but loved what I saw.

I went through their configuration tool which I think is the best of any company. Then came the moment of submitting the configuration. William got back to me the same day and suggested some ways I could actually trim the cost down while still getting excellent performance. Usually salespeople will upsell you, so this is a refreshing change.

After playing with the configuration for 6 months and paying off some bills, I finally settled on the setup that would work best for me. I placed the order on 4/16/08, got my system on 4/22/08 which was a day early. The system was plugged in and it ran perfectly out of the box. The cool thing was that they really do a clean install so it was nice to not spend hours taking spyware off the system. The interior was the cleanest I have ever seen and also got comments from friends saying how good the job was done.

Simply said, the build quality of the systems are excellent...the service is even better. I give Puget an A++ for doing an excellent job and can honestly recommend them to anyone. My next system, which will be a notebook will definitely come from them. You may spend a few dollars more but everything you get back in return is well worth it.

EDIT- 6/7/10: 2 years after buying my system from Puget, it is still as great as the first day it arrived at my house. Being a former Dell customer, I knew what I was looking for (media editing, graphics) and did a quote for a system that has a 3.0 Core 2 Duo processor, dual 500GB hard drives with Acronis TrueImage, 4GB RAM, Vista 32-bit Ultimate (since upgraded to Win 7 64-bit Pro), Antec P182 case, DVD-RW, among other things. The same day, William emailed me back with some options that helped me save money and was able to eliminate components I didn't need. I also really appreciate that he was honest and didn't upsell me on things I never needed. When I bought my system, everything arrived very neat in the best packaging job I have ever seen, and a couple of days earlier than the original shipping estimate.

Over the time I have had my system, it is a true workhorse being dependable day in, day out. The 2 times that I did need tech support (1 was for a failed hard drive, the other was to help fix a configuration issue that McAfee caused), everyone was truly awesome. They also followed up to make sure that everything is good after taking care of any issues. Jon actually emailed me at 2:30am once to make sure things were working correctly and gave me advice on how to take care of the configuration issue. This level of service is never found at Dell or any of the similar companies.

Puget is not the cheapest. However, the product quality, neatness of build (look inside a tower Puget builds compared to a Dell or Gateway and you'll see a huge difference), no bloatware to remove, system is fully tested prior to shipping (and you see the results), and support that actually stands by you when you need it. They definitely give the best all-around value. You also get a quality relationship with a great company, which is priceless.

I continue to be very happy with the system they built for me and it still screams as fast as the first day. When my next system comes up, I am definitely coming back to Puget.""

"I ordered a custom computer from Puget. I wanted it to be fast and quiet. After consulting with Puget, we agreed on a configuration with a Quad Core Q6700 CPU and 4GB RAM, and a quiet but reasonably quick video card.

They built the system and delivered it right on schedule, and it runs whisper quiet and it is every bit as fast as we expected.

I did price similar configurations with other quiet computer builders, and Puget was actually a bit less expensive.
