"I'm done with their online ordering. Customer Service is great but Communication/Notification about order status/cancellation is almost nonexistence.

Ordered once through Amazon, order never got filled until I contacted them. Why? Because it's coming directly from the manufacturers. Order did come.
Ordered again directly from their site, instead of Amazon, (bc they're only one that have what I'm looking for. I called after a week of waiting for order status. Order was cancelled but not a notification was sent out. Why was it cancelled? Something to with Paypal won't pay them because something to do with the delivery date that they set is longer than the 30 days hold by Paypal.

"I purchased two sports bras online because I don't have a store close to me. I received them quickly; unfortunately, they didn't fit. The return form did not offer "refund" as an option, so I called customer service. I was told that I could receive a refund; the company has not yet updated the form to include this. What?? It has been three weeks since they received my return (I know because I purchased tracking) and I still have not received a refund. I've called twice already, and each time I was told it takes a while to process. What bull!! Once I receive my refund, I'm cancelling my VIP membership (apparently, I'm not really a VIP) and I'm never purchasing from this company again!"

"I went to the store in Bellevue, WA and purchased a pair of running short. I was asked at the checkout if wanted to join the VIP programme, but I declined. No one informed me at that time that I wasn't going to be able to do returns and exchanges if I wasn't a VIP member. On the receipt, in bold letters, says "30 day merchandise returns".
So the shorts didn't fit and I went to return it. I was told that I cannot return it because I wasn't VIP. Not even exchange it. They claimed that whatever is on the receipt applies to VIP only. Then they offered me a membership ($25), so I can get my $33 back. WHAT!!!!
The manager was busy selling shoes to a customer in store, while 5 other sales people watched him do it, so he never showed up to deal with this issue.
Totally the worst customer service! SCAM!
DONT BUY AT ROAD RUNNER SPORTS!!!!!

"Last year i ordered two pairs of "Basics" running shorts (one MM and one LG size) from them and I was satisfied. This year I wanted to order the M again but they were out of stock. So, I ordered a pair of similar shorts from their own line "R-Gear". The size M shorts they sent were so small in the waist it was obviously a defect, so I exchanged them for a Large. I was charged a 20% restocking charge, so I called to complain. I was told rather rudely that the they had determined that the shorts I returned were not defective because when compared to the other shorts in that brand they were the same size. I took photos of those shorts next to the Basics brand clearly showing that the Large shorts in R-Gear were MUCH SMALLER in the waste than the Medium in the Basics brand! I would post all the photos here if that were allowed. I used one for s my profile photo. Anyway, they are not interested in seeing the photos at Road Runner. I called them again and got the same pathetic excuse ---- that they are not responsible for the accuracy of sizes! So be prepared to pay 20% every time you return a bad size, or 40% if you have to make two size exchanges as I would have had to if I had cared to do so."

"RRS sold me a pair of shoes at a good price and told me they were in stock and would ship within 48 hours. I'd stopped shopping in malls when I saw their ad. Now, one week later, they had still not shipped, I asked them where the shoes were. They said they were on back order and should arrive at their location that day and ship at night. They also claimed they told me the shoes were on back order when I ordered, which was a complete lie. In fact, while chatting with the CSR, I went back to their website and they still claim the shoes in my size were "In Stock." RRS will lie to take your money."

"I purchased a pair of shoes from this store through Amazon, which I assumed had been vetted by Amazon. First of all, I had the shoes in my cart but went back later to make the purchase and they do not show if you are purchasing B width or C/D (which is what I ordered) so I removed them and went back and make sure I selected the C/D. When they arrived they were the B width. When I contacted them they said I had ordered the B but I could return them however I would have to pay return shipping. I let them know that I know for a fact that I made double sure I had the right size before I made the purchase. As disappointing as I was with the store, Amazon was just as bad because they denied my claim because I received the order. Being a Prime member you would think that I would get the benefit of the doubt, especially with a company with such a low rating.

I would never buy anything from this company again and I hope that someone puts them out of business soon!!

"I did a return using the USPS. It was a lot less expensive at the time. I followed up with a phone call and was told it takes 2-3 weeks to reflect a return. It's been 5 weeks and they claim to have never have gotten it. First and last time to do business with them…and I do a lot by mail. Never had this problem with other companies!"

"Update - they are supposedly giving me a refund. However, given their terrible reviews it will be hard to do business with them again.

These guys are scam artists. If you sign up for their VIP (which isn't very valuable) they will charge your credit card $25 without permission or warning. There is no way to cancel VIP online either. It's a total scam as there is no way I got $25 worth of savings with few orders I placed.

"Road Runner VIP membership is a bait-and-switch scheme. Their promotions and coupons apply to non-members but they will always quote you VIP prices, inflating your perceived savings. At the end of the day, unless you carefully ask for the correct prices and do the math, you will not save anything. Better to skip the membership or better yet go elsewhere."

"After placing my order, I received an email stating they were unable to ship one of the items I ordered. I was fine with that, I can understand that inventory mistakes happen. Later, I found that they had increased the price of the remaining items by 40% and I was not given an opportunity to cancel my order.

I'm continuing to work with customer service, representatives named Colleen O., Will, Jennifer, and Ciara have still been unable to correct the pricing that I was charged. I will provide an update if the situation improves, but I would avoid ordering from this company since they change the price of products after the order.

"I placed an order online at roadrunnersports.com on December 29, 2014. I received an email the same day saying that everything would be delivered on December 31, 2014. I used the online chat to confirm that my stuff had been shipped because the web site showed my order "Processing" on the day it was supposed to arrive. The person on the chat said that my order appeared to be "stuck" - I'm not sure what that means, but my order wasn't going to be delivered when they promised. I cancelled the order. With this kind of customer service, I will not be shopping at roadrunnersports.com, and I will not shop in their stores (they just opened one a few miles from my house). I will stick with the companies that I know to be reliable from now on."

"Incompetent customer service. I ordered a product from Road Runner Sports through Amazon.com on Dec 3. I was given a Dec 8-9 day ship date, Dec 11-16 delivery date. When I did not receive a confirmation of shipment I contacted them on Dec 9 and they responded with a canned answer of product ships 3-5 business days, delivery 7-10 business days. When I informed them that the 3-5 business days for shipment had passed and I wanted an updated status I received a response (on Dec 12) they were contacting the vendor for a tracking number and would provide that to me. Four days later (Dec 16) after not hearing from Road Runner Sports I emailed them again to find out what was going on with my order. They responded with the same canned answer I received the first time. By now I had lost all patience with this company and demanded an answer and they came back that it was on backorder with an anticipated ship date of Dec 29. Nine days after my initial request did they tell me it was backordered. I then asked that the order be cancelled as it was not arriving in time for Christmas and since they neglected to inform me of the backorder issue at the time of purchase (their order page stills says it is in stock to be shipped by Christmas) I no longer wanted it. I submitted 3 cancellation requests (Dec 18,19 & 20) to finally be told on the 3rd request that the cancellation was put through. Today, Dec 22, I received a reply on my last cancellation request that the item had shipped! So, I can honestly say I will never purchase anything from Road Runner Sports again. "

"Should have listened to the reviews. My wife ordered a pair of Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit MULTI COLORED. Instead she gets a black and pink Nike Free 5.0. The shoes don't even match the box. The box is for a pair of WMNS NIKE FREE FLYKNIT 4.0. AVOID THIS COMPANY, BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. Bigtime epic fail. Will see how the return process goes."

"I'm mostly an on-line customer and signed on as a VIP member when it was first introduced many years ago. Up until now I've been generally happy with their prices, return policy, and service. It seems that the bells and whistles around Road Runner's customer service is all for show and that its automated nature is beginning to take a toll. Most notably, I have ordered products that their website shows is in stock in my size, only to be informed several days later through an email that the product is not available. I'm one out of three in my recent orders - with two orders being cancelled. Just today I visited the website and the product they didn't send me is listed as being available in my size. Also, I have found that when I browse their website and click on an item, the item is advertised to me incessantly on other websites I visit including Facebook and various news sites. It's very obnoxious. I've tried to cancel the ad through the privacy settings but if I make the mistake of looking at their website for anything, the obnoxious ads come back."

"Pricing to me seems a bit inflated. I recently called about a pair of Asics Kayano 20. Catalog price was $159.99 or so & with my discounts I could have received $30 off bringing the price to $129.99. Priced the same pair on Zappos for $119. Buyer beware! "
