I have had to chase them, about my order which hasnt even left their warehouse! my order was 10 days ago.
They have canned responses, I dont think they have real customer service people - I dont trust them with any banking details.

"I ordered my shoes August 10th. Today is august 25.
No tracking information.
I had to contact roadrunner to even receive an email regarding my orders status. Although, I still I have no idea where my package is.
Avoid this website and company if you value your money.
It is not worth the headache and I am partially convinced that my order was never even processed.
Without going into detail, I was told two weeks ago the company sent an invoice to the distributors regarding my package. I call the distributors directly, no record of me in the system whatsoever."
"Worst experience EVER. First, the WRONG shoes were sent to me. Called back and there was no way I was going to get the shoes I DID order in time for my vacation. I am also concerned that I will be paying this 24.99 a year until I die. According to the other reviews, even after cancellation, they continue to charge this annual fee for years. "
"I purchased a pair of shoes at the local store in Costa Mesa about a year ago, and this month I was suddenly charged $24.99 for their VIP membership. I never agreed to any VIP club membership while I was at the store, and they just used my credit card on file to take money from my bank. I think this store's practice needs to be thoroughly investigated."
"I shopped at Road Runner in 2012 and the store employe signed me up for the VIP program. At that time I specifically said I didn't want a yearly membership and he said that automatic renewal was turned off. However, I was charger $24.99 in April of that 2013. So I called them and reversed the charge. Before April 2014, I preemptively called them to tell them not to charge me again. Service rep said he has made sure that my account is closed. However in April of 2015 it AGAIN happened. I called again and they said they will refund the money. They are a seriously SHADY business. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. I don't know how long they are going to keep doing this. I am going to file a complaint with BBB too. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!"
"I don't think I've ever had a worse experience buying shoes. Picked out shoes online (ok, admittedly not the BEST idea). However I have done lots of online shopping and the colors are at least somewhat close. These colors were altered tremendously. Most importantly, when I tried to return them- the return packing slip had an exchange option but nowhere to check off for RETURN. After calling the company, they stated that I must not only create MY OWN box, but I need to check it, highlight it, and rewrite my card number underneath. It has been 2 weeks and I have yet to see a refund to my account. Extremely disappointed."
"After 7 years of using roadrunnersports I was double charged. I pruchased a pair of shoes like I do every year. I was billed s econd charge becuase of a mess up on thier backend systems. They will not refund the difference and they have become more expensive than direct outlets. Sad to see a company fall apart like this one."

"Do not buy from their website. First they provide horrible customer service , then they practice bait and switch. I went online, was thrilled to find the shoe I use at a great sales price. I bought it and got a confirmatory email saying the shoes are on their way to me. Nothing happened for days, and I noticed that the temp charges on my credit card never were posted. I tracked the order on their website and found that it was cancelled. After sending their Cust Srvcs a message, I learned that the shoes on sale were not actually available, but that a fit specialist would be glad to help me pick out other (i.e. full price) shoes. What company cancels your order and fails to tell you??? Turns out their inventory isn't real-time, so nothing you order is assured to be actually available.
The upshot is that I found the same shoe at Amazon at an even better price than the Road Runner sales price (which actually wasn't available to me).
As a side note, the website thought I was still a VIP, though I didn't claim it, and it gave me that discount. Later, before my order was cancelled , RR added an additional charge to my credit card of around $20, without asking or informing me. Stay away from them, or watch your credit card closely."
"Good prices on gear, and if you by stuff yearly from them the VIP is a great deal. I however just wanted one big purchase, but signed up for VIP because it only cost $24.99/year and saved over that on the purchase. That was is 2011, and it is now 2013 and I am still fighting them to quit charging me $24.99 every year even though I cancel my VIP service long ago. This is not that rare of an occasion as they have many similar complaints on the BBB website."
"I placed an order online with Road Runner Sports a couple days with my VIP account and utilized a VIP discount code. Today, when I checked my bank statement, I noticed an unauthorized charge of $20 from Road Runner Sports. Upon contacting them, I was informed that my VIP membership had expired at in 2011; they could not explain why my VIP status was still active on the website. Rather than call to inform me of this or cancel my order, they opted to make an unauthorized charge to my credit card. For the record, Road Runner made an unauthorized charge to my credit card in 2011 as well, which is why I had not shopped with them since. After two unauthorized charges to my card, I won't be shopping there again."

"If found the retail outlet was great, but I made a mistake of signing up for the email. I'm now being spammed by Road Runner almost daily. I have repeated tried to opt out of the email but to no avail. They are sending emails that our out of compliance with the Can-Spam Act.
Recommendation ... do not let them have your email address."
"I've bought my shoes from Road Runner for over twenty years. They used to be a top quality and innovative organization. My current purchase was a disaster from start to finish. My order on 9/20 was delayed to 10/1. To keep a long story short, I called 10/1 to find the shoe was delayed again as was the next five delays. For each delay, they added a few more days until shipping. Finally they stated they would expedite the shipping to make up for the delays. Once shipped it took five painful days for FedEx to deliver the package within Southern California because of Road Runner's ineptitude. Road Runner is all about marketing and sales, but now fails miserably with customer service. You've all seen this scenario in corporate America where the company is destroyed from inside, not competition. I'm just one guy and Road Runner's execs may not care, but I'm taking my four purchases a year (x20 years) and I'm going elsewhere. "
