"Camera arrived after a couple of delivery issues (UPS fault). Lens exceeded my expectations - love it!"
"I am enjoying the new lens."
"camaera was excellent, but lens had focusing issues, exchanged out without problems, you guys are great ********"
"This will be my first stop whenever I am looking for used photography gear!"
"Note that my experience is with usedphotopro.com, which is the part of Roberts Camera that sells used equipment. Check their Yelp reviews and you'll find complaints similar to mine about the used gear they sell. Of course Yelp reviews are usually left by people buying locally who can check functionality before they leave the store. Online purchasers are stuck with having to do that completely on their own and re-pack and ship things that don't work.
I like supporting independent businesses and Roberts used to be a decent place to buy from. Based on my last two experiences, not any more.
I placed an order for two used flash units, both of which were described as being checked and in working condition. On arrival, one was completely dead, the other did not work correctly.
OK, anyone can make a mistake. Well, in this case, two, so when I got an email from them saying "20% off All Used Accessories", I tried again. They have a couple flash receivers I want. Put 'em in my cart, enter the promo code but it doesn't work.
I call and after waiting on hold for a while the word comes down from the main manager; receivers are not accessories. Really? Their only function is to attach to a flash unit and provide a remote connection. They have zero functionality otherwise. In short, an accessory. Search the same product on KEH.com (the largest used camera dealer in the world) or the B&H used section and guess what? Flash receivers are accessories. And while you're there, do business with KEH or B&H instead of Roberts. The stuff they send you typically works and they don't play semantic games. And they have LOT more inventory from which to choose.
They apparently don't want my business and I don't want their aggravation so I just unsubscribed from Roberts email list and won't bother them again."
"Super fast delivery and the lens surpasses my expectations "
"I broke my Nikon D3200 and needed it to shoot my son's gallery opening. So I went online and found a slightly used beauty at Robertscamera.com. On Fri. Feb. 28th, late at night, I placed the order. I waited until Roberts opened on Sat. the 29th to call and make sure I would have it as soon as possible. I paid an extra $15, I believe it was, for 2 day shipping. I was assured at the time that it would go out on Mon. March 5th and I would have it by Tues. I called again on Monday only to find that they had failed to ship it out as promised. So now, instead of getting the camera on Tues, it would arrive Weds or possibly Thurs. The opening was Fri. night and I had never shot video with the camera, so I had hoped to be able to figure it out with enough time to experiment comfortably. After I graciously explained my dissatisfaction with the proposed outcome, they agreed to ship it overnight (arriving on Weds.), at their expense, and refunded what I had paid for priority shipping. I would shop with them again."
"always reliable and spot on on grade of used merchandise"
"Ordered a new hiking/camera backpack for $399.99....opened the box and the tag said $339.99. $60 difference online as compared to in their physical store I suppose, but that's a ridiculous difference and one that will likely keep me from ordering from them again."
"Just what I was looking for at a fair price. The folks who grade your lenses do an excellent job. If I am looking for a new or used lens I always check with you folks first and I usually have to go no further. Please keep up the excellent customer service."
"Price for a Xume lens cap substantially more than anyone else. Unfortunately, other suppliers were back ordered and Robert’s was the only one with stock.
Paid $33 for fed ex 2 day shipping which arrived in 4 days!
Overall, a negative experience."
"It was great and works great I will be doing more business with them "
"I ordered a used Fujifilm XT3 and from what I could tell it’s only been used a little. Their ratings are lower than I would give something. Not a bad thing for us customers. This was my first purchase and the shipping time was good. Faster than the large companies in New York, so that’s a huge plus in my book. Overall I look forward to doing more business here. "
"The lens was rated very good, more like nearly new, with super service."
"Ordered a used-like new lens from Roberts, and you can't even tell if it is an old lens. Works like new! I have been in Roberts before and love how personable their staff is with customers and how much information they know about certain lenses and camera bodies. "
