"Used to be good but not any more. Incompetent untrained staff at customer service. My last "urgent" order was delayed over and over due to parts not in stock, replaced by them with another parts as well not in stock. After 2 phone calls over 2 days finally dispatched but some parts selected by another operator incorrect yet again.
No reply to my complaint email, no apology, no refund of postage as promised. Absolutely incompetent! I've spent here over £1500 but have been let down. Unfortunately cannot recommend."
"Having purchased a HDD from this company and paid the £4.57 for next day delivery, I got an email a day later informing me that due to unprecedented volume in the warehouse (for that read, too many orders and not enough staff), they would be unable to deliver the next day.
I called them up and requested that they refund me the delivery cost. However, they flatly refused stating that it was not a guarantee of next day delivery. This, I find to be incredibly poor customer service and if you look on their website, the product pages have "next day delivery" and even state the delivery date.
Worse still, having spoken with citizens advice consumer service, they said that they are in breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 as they have misleading statements on their website that could cause the average consumer to make a decision that they would not otherwise have taken. Even after making their dubiously named customer service individuals "Carrie" and "Wesley" aware of this, they still refused to refund the delivery charge.
I for one will never EVER buy anything from this company again and I would urge you all to spend a few pence more (if you actually have to) and buy from a more customer focussed organisation such as Ebuyer or Amazon. As an IT professional, I am ashamed that this company is part of my industry. I would urge you to look on the Internet for other reviews where things have gone wrong with Scan and read other customers' experiences of their atrocious customer service.
I will also be pursuing this matter further with Trading Standards as this kind of poor customer services is simply not acceptable."
"This company are fine unless you have a problem. I Purchased a GPU from scan around 10 months ago. The card broke and I returned it to scan they told me it would take a week to replace if not I would be refunded. A month has now passed and scan have ignored my last 3 email asking for an update.
Today I rang them and they informed me the card was unfixable and no longer made. I paid £360 for the card and they are offering me a £208 refund. That's a £152 loss.
Reading through the Fit for Purpose Act it seems like i'm not entitled to a Full Refund but I am entitled to A Repair or Replacement I would happily accept this but Scan Can't Fix it and will only offer me a card with significantly lower Spec. It would be the equivalent of buying a PS4 it braking after 10 months and scan replacing it with a PS3 just doesn't seem fair.
The Man on the phone was extremely rude and wouldn't help me. I hope people read this and avoid scan in the future they are the worst company I have ever had to deal with."

Having used them for custom builds, bundles and all of my PC needs over the last few years, I couldn't be more pleased with their service.
From ordering to delivery, I have always been kept up to date with the status of my orders. Receiving timely emails and texts regarding their progress. If there is ever a problem with stock availability I have been informed and then been able to make the decision to change the product or await stock arriving.
From telephone calls to emails with the staff, I have always had my needs catered for, especially in regards to the customization of the PC build they did for me.
Philipp really does go out of his way to help the customers out.
Once again when ordering the CM Storm Quickfire TK. I received superfast comms and delivery of the item. Well packaged and had the option to leave at a neighbours house, which some companies won't do and you have to go out of your way to collect the items.
The keyboard itself is nice and compact which is what I bought it for. The intergration of the arrow keys with the number pad is sublime.
I wasn't sure of which type of key to go for but the brown mechanical keys are a nice balance between typing and gaming. Very soft and not as loud as the blues.
Would highly recommend the keyboard for all gamers and people in need of extra space.
I now have more room to move my mouse when gaming.
5 out of 5 bananas for the company and 5 out of 5 for the keyboard.

"Bought a job lot (15) of 12v PWM fans from Scan, they were unable to tell me the connections for them, smoked three of them using the random wire test (my fault) so after research on google found the generic connections and set about testing them, the first tried to kick into life but after a quarter of a turn SMOKED as did two others, no help from Scan on the matter….
Anyone want some useless 12V PWM fans?

"Well a few days ago i decided it was time to light up my custom gaming computer with LED's and being my "baby" it needed the best. So i looked around for the best item and price (obviously) and i found that SCAN had the most choice AND the best price which was nice. First off i was a bit frustrated by the fact that on a seven pound item i had to pay four pounds postage, however that was alleviated when they would deliver it for six on a bank holiday saturday...score!
The item arrived on time, as you'd expect from a site which has plenty of glowing reviews online and it looked like it was packaged by someone in the warehouse who really cared about the condition it would arrive in. It was double packed in bubble wrap which i thought was over the top in a good way and i love bubble wrap!.
Everything worked perfectly so when the email from Scan came to ask me to review them from their site i said okay and left a few words for them to consider. I only got an email back from them in ten minutes saying thank you and they would pass them up the chain, i was really impressed about how they actually care and reply to what customers think...it makes me think that if i ever did have a problem, i'd be in good hands.

I unfortunately had 2 motherboards go faulty and they replaced them with no quibbles at all. Sent out a good courier that pick up my faulty goods at a convenient time for me, a one hour window( no annoying 7.30am-5.30pm slot). They also gave me a free tube of high quality thermal paste free as a gesture of goodwill. Scan not only have very cheap prices for quality merchandise they have a insurance policy, 'scan sure'. for a very small charge your hardware is insured against accidental damage for 30 days. this gives new amateur, first time builders the opportunity to build and own high end gaming computers at a fraction of the cost of lower quality prebuilt computers. First timers can relax and have a go at building their own machine safe in the knowledge if they accidentally break any components they will be replaced completely free of charge for up to 30 days days. Then after that Scan have excellent returns policies for any faulty goods, as I said , I had two motherboards go faulty and they were replaced quickly and efficiently with no arguments at all. the turn around time was very quick too. "Scan.co.uk are only interested in taking your money. If something goes wrong and you need them, they don't get back to you quickly and or you get a generic robot response which doesn't help.
Their customer service is so poor in comparison to other big names in the industry like Amazon and Ebuyer, which have always been extremely helpful to me. I would not recommend them to anyone.
They might be slighty cheaper on some goods, but there is a reason for that ... THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

"I Bought a 600GB WD SATA 3 WD6000HLHX RAP on the 20 Jun 2012. While installing Windows 7 I discovered the hard drive was fault it was making a grinding noise while writing or reading from the hard drive. I emailed in and was told that the hard drive had to be packed in bubble wrap which had to be in a box. I found this a little odd considering when my hard drive arrived it was simply just wrapped bubble wrap in a post bag. I sent the hard drive back and when I plugged in the replacement I discovered this had the same issue’s now I understand these things can happen and again this was just in bubble wrap so to make sure it wasn’t the transportation that was causing this fault I drove to your shop and had the replacement replaced only to find once I got home that the 3rd hard drive has the same issue. As you can imagine I was not very happy and so emailed in with the entire problem and it took 3 days to be told the best scan could do for me was replace the hard drive and offer me free delivery on my next order which equates to £3.99. I was not happy with this and considering it have been a month since I first had the problem I couldn’t afford to wait around for a week while you guys changed it again. I came into the store again on the 28th explained all of this and was told that there were no managers about to be able to give me anything for the hassle this had caused and if I wanted to speak to someone I would have to come back during the week. I work Monday to Friday and so don’t get time to just pop into speak to someone and being without a computer for a week is not really an option. I decided to just get the replacement and speak email in about the issues again. However on getting home I discovered that the 4th replacement has the same problem and to add to all this I find that they dropped the price of the Hard drive from £153.11 Inc VAT to £135.58 Inc VAT and was then old they they still couldn't do anything but offer free delivery I was planning to buy the rest of my PC from Scan over the next 2 months but if this is the type of service I’m going to receive I’ll think twice before buying or change to Aria for my future purchases. I’m very disappointed in the way I have been treated as a customer especially considering I had been recommending scan to all my friends, family, and work for our future it supplies. i would diffinally not rocommed Scan any more as they maybe a good suppliers but when things go wrong they know nothing about good customer service."
"Bought a Scroll 7” Tablet From Scan International on the 25/11/2011 for the wife for Xmas. Found out that it had a dead usb port on the 01/01/2012. This was because the unit seemed to function ok and it wasn’t until the wife asked me to put some photos on it for her that I discovered the usb fault.
Contacted Scan 03/01/2012, item was collected on the 06/01/2012 and I received the replacement on the 19/01/2012.
The replacement was filthy dirty and I had to disinfect it before switching it on.
On switching it on I found that this was a used item. It had details of the last owner including his full name, his picture, a picture of his car, his daughter or wife’s name. Skype and email details and Kindle ebook downloads from a year ago.
Received item on the 29/11.2011, 28 days would have made it the 27/12/2011 from received or 23/12/2011 from purchase date.
Scans response it’s outside the 28 days, so basically tough.
Scan do not account for the Xmas break like most companies whom extend Xmas purchases to the 31 Jan.
I bought new and expected a new replacement for the faulty item instead I’m stuck with a second hand at least 1 year old used unit.
Can’t claim via Barclaycard because although it was purchased using my Barclaycard it was through a third party, paypal.
In case you don’t know, Barclaycard does not cover you because of the use of a third party.

"Quite simply the best online purchasing experience I have had and I do buy quite a lot online.
I placed two orders yesterday about 2 hours apart, with a very simple and quick order and payment interface. After that I received regular updates letting me know the status of the order/delivery process, I was also able to track status both on the Scan site and that of their shippers at any time, and this morning received email and text message giving me a one hour delivery window, for today, which is SO helpful if you want to plan your day. Less than 24 hours from order to delivery is pretty impressive, and this did not require me to pay extra for express - their standard delivery rates are not expensive, and you do not get the impression that they are making up their margin on that element, as other retailers often seem to.
So all of that was as good as it could be, and the amazing part is that the items I bought from Scan (a set of Gaming PC Speakers and a Cideko AD03 Ipad stand)were at least 25% cheaper, including delivery charges, than anywhere else I saw on the web - cheaper even than eBay!
I will most definitely be buying from them again - great price, great performance, and friendly customer service - easily as good as Amazon, and quicker and much cheaper.
