"I recently purchased a 3XS System (custom built PC) from Scan. I became aware of Scan through the website of a graphics card provider, and noticed their advertisements in various PC magazines. Naturally cautious, I did some research on the net, and Scan seemed to receive generally positive reviews. From my own experience, I can only echo those positive reviews: I was very happy indeed with the whole purchasing experience, and am delighted with what I've now received.
I was impressed with Scan's website, the ordering system, and the direct updates during the build period. There was a slight delay from the initlially anticipated build date, but then only by a matter of a few days, which didn't cause me a problem. The important thing for me was that I was told about the slight delay very early in the process, and Scan stuck to the postponed date.
Having received and then unwrapped my PC, and, indeed, having opened the PC up to remove the additional packaging inside (provided to avoid components coming loose in transit), it's clear a lot of time and care had been taken to put it together. It has an excellent feel of quality to it, and performance appears impressive. I've not been able to play PC games for some time, but with my new system, I've managed a few hours with Crysis with all settings ramped up to the highest possible - awesome!
I can only say I'd happily use Scan Computers again, and will no doubt do so, as and when I need to update what I currently have. I've already passed on positive comments to friends. "
"I was recommended to Scan for the purchase of a PC that was powerful enough to run the music software etc that my son uses. The advise I received was second to none and I had no hesitation in placing the order.However there was some issues with the delivery, all my fault due to going abroad. "When I was first looking around for a machine that would handle all the particular needs of my music software and third party hardware devices in a Windows 7 environment running on i7, I did a web search, and came across this company. My exploratory email to Scan resulted in a highly detailed, case specific response from a technical consultant that demonstrated he had read and fully understood my email, and responded point by point, unlike so many copy-and-paste emails one tends to receive from Tech Support departments.
Follow up emails from me were promptly responded to with no less detailed emails from him, with individually tailored information. Through this I quickly came to realise that he, and by association, the company itself had an extremely well grounded and thorough grasp of music technology, so I decided to spend the extra money and have them build the computer. I have not been disappointed.
The machine I eventually received, apart from a couple of initial problems to do with memory compatibility with the motherboard and installation of a third party driver, since swiftly rectified by a company representative attending my studio, has surpassed my expectations in quality of build, performance and quietness.
When I eventually got to speak to staff in person, I was delighted to be able to talk to such knowledgeable, good humoured, 'can-do' individuals who would not give up until I had got everything working with my particular software needs, even well after closing time on a Friday afternoon on one occasion.
I can only recommend this company in the highest terms."
"I've been shopping with scan.co.uk for several years now, buying various pieces of peripheral hardware for both business and personal use. Their price and service have always been first-rate, and I've never had any problems and have recommended them to friends and colleagues.
Their 3XS custom products have always appeared excellent and so when it came time to replace my CAD workstation I decided to give them a go, and ordered one of their Core i7 workstations, adjusting the specification to give me exactly what I wanted.
All I can say is -wow! The system is beautifully put together and operates flawlessly: it's the fastest, smoothest desktop I've ever worked on.
The care with which it was packed for shipment told the tale, really. It arrived packaged like something somebody cared about: protected inside and out with foam, anti-static wrap, etc -I almost didn't want to un-box it. But I did, and it's a real piece of craftsmanship, a welcome change from most contemporaty mass-produced electronic goods.
This type of kit is not for everybody but if you're after something truly bespoke then you can't go wrong with something put together by scan.co.uk."

"I recently ordered and had delivered a very high end PC from Scan.
All during the ordering process my single point of contact was more than willing to help as we designed the PC (by mail and telephone) over several days in different combinations, eventually arriving at the specification that fitted my exacting needs.
A slight delay due to the lack of availability of the graphics card I had ordered was solved by my SPOC calling and making some alternative suggestions that would give the same performance I required.
The PC was delivered on the date specified with extensive packaging (including internal padding) ensuring its safe arrival. Very impressive.
The physical build of the machine is excellent, I have rarely seen such a tidy interior, withall the cables and ancillary equipment tucked and tied away.
Finally post checking by email from Scan to ensure all was ok with my delivery topped off what was in all an excellent service from them.

"Over the last few years I have used a few retailers but Scan is the one I return to time after time.
They always send out my order in good time to arrive went I want it too.
Their backup service has to be second to none.
I have had problems with my self built gaming PC lately so emailed Scans technical department for help. This was late on a Wednesday night I had a reply by the Friday, in the meantime I had sorted out my problem (a PSU dieing). When I emailed back to say I had sorted the problem, and got a new PSU from them they came back a asked if the old PSU was still in warranty, if so they would be able to replace it.
It is rather nice to deal with a company that still seems to care about their customers."
"Very happy with overall response, help and delivery from Scan. A week ago my new motherboard (part of a large self-build PC order) went faulty. Scan went out of their way to turn around my RMA/returns in as short a time as possible in order for return of goods by the weekend. (NB fault hard to locate so they checked M/B, GPU card, PSU, RAM and Processor combination for me and returned all components plus replacement M/B) A company who deserves even greater success built on their their own excellent '3XS' customer relations protocol. I would not hesitate to recommend them."
"I have been buying from Scan for years (At least 6 or 7 I think!). Initially I used two or three different companies and would shop around but Scan have emerged as the best prices with the biggest stock all round over the years so now I order from them only. I have to say their customer service has improved greatly since the early days and they are a pleasure to deal with. I'm not a massive purchaser but I do build and fix computers for friends and run my own IT Consultancy so quite often I need parts quickly (i.e. next day). I like the updates that they email me to say "Invoice Printer", "Payment Authorised", "Order Picked", "Order Despatched" so I always know how things are progressing. If for any reason I haven't received the "Order Picked" by 2-3pm on the day before I'm expecting my order (this happens now and again but not often), and no-one has contacted me with a reason, a quick call or email via their "Contact Us" section of the website elicits a quick response and things are back on track. I have visited their store on occasion to pick things up over the counter and their staff are a pleasure to deal with. I have also dealt with their returns department on several occasions and find them very knowledgeable and fair. Scan are a company I recommend to many people, all of whom have been extremely pleased with the prices and swift delivery. Scan may not always get everything right, but what company does? I am well known for my low tolerance with companies that don't deliver on their promises, but Scan have kept my custom for over 6 years now so they must be doing something right! "Seamless ordering process. Once ordered was helpfully asked how I would like PC to be set up, then kept informed of each stage of the pc build. I found the entire process very slick, and with a great product at the end. Product arrived with very clear instructions on how to set up. Excellently packed with all internal components supported by anti-static bubble wrap. One thing I did find surprising was the amount of extra bits & pieces that came with the pc. Most companies would just ship the pc, but scan sent every part that was left over, including the original fans which I upgraded. I thought this was a nice touch and these parts are always handy to have spare at a later date. In all a great experience and highly recommended."
"Each time I have used Scan.co.uk my order has been dispatched and delivered next day, packaged well and never any problems with the contents. I had to contact customer service to ask a question about a delivery and recieved a full, polite and informative response in minutes. This was such a breath of fresh air from other companies I used in the past.
As for their delivery service, they seem to have been picked well too, each time I have had a delivery I have been out of the house and they have always taken the time to find someone in a near house to leave the package with rather than make me have to go to pick it up from a depot.
Scan.co.uk are fantastic, it's a shame more companies don't work like they do.
