My wife and I are experiencing lower back issues with the sleep number bed, due to the hammock effect of the single bladder. I have not yet received our air-pedic, so I cannot comment on it as yet. "Gerald Misemer is the person who assisted me with my Air-Pedic Memory Foam 700 Series (solid) King Size. He is an honest dealer, straightforward and does not bug me with follow up emails asking to buy the item. He tells me what are the on-sale items and gives me pointers on choosing a bed instead of forcing the issue. Even though the pricing is online, I don't know how much the discount will be, so I called the second time and another associate got my phone call and just abruptly say, our prices are online. Then I asked about the 700 series on how much they are on sale, he said "Oh they are not on sale." Then he will not tell me which were on sale. So I asked for Gerald. He said Gerald will honor what with the price that he gave me. Which he did and Gerald told me which beds are on sale and why they are so. He also assessed my need whether I want a split king or a solid king. He told me, if I dont plan to raise the head of bed to read or watch TV then I am good with solid king size bed. I am very pleased with Gerald.
The bed, however, was disappointing. It does not have the three zone adjustments as advertised which was the pivotal decision of buying this particular brand. The head and leg are one adjustment and the pelvis is the second adjustment. I was expecting the trunk, pelvis and legs are the three zone. So, if you are short, like me, 5 feet, the bed do not have an advantage. You are better off with a memory foam bed without the air system.
When you adjust the hardness-softness, the machine will wake up all person in the room. It was not quiet as advertised.
The mattress is heat-retaining. It has been a month now since acquiring the mattress and they have not sent me the "Airflow Transfer System – Optional, but recommended FREE (Normally $399 – On Sale Now)", so I requested for one. I guess it is not sent automatically with the purchase. I hope this machine will help.
Gerald also asked me to inspect the box, if the box is damaged, I should make a note before I sign the delivery slip. Because they will not be responsible if the bed is broken and was not noted in the delivery. Of course, this is only suggestive of external damage. They used "Sala LTL Freight" though the box said, "Do not use Forklift" the package has tears front, side and back, good thing the mattress was not punctured. On the day of delivery, plan to be off work for half the day because it will arrive 3 hours after the "expected time of arrival"
You can't return it if you are not happy with the purchase. Unless you shoulder the entire shipping cost to you aside from the $100 fee you paid shipping it to you and the shipping back to them. Apparently, they paid part of the shipping to you. That is why the bed is still with me.
The instructions to hook up is in small print, not that clear, I have to read it so many times to understand it. The color of the tubes helped with the hooking up, maybe that is why you don't really need to read the instructions. You just need to figure out which is the head and feet part.
The first night my back hurt, because it does not align to me, so I program it to the lowest setting wherein you virtually sink into it. Then gradually adjust it every night.
The remote controllers are wired, attached to the machine. Seriously need upgrading. But they are long enough. You just can't connect it to your phone to adjust it or find the comfort zone.
The "FREE Organic Cotton Stretch Mattress Protector with GreenShield" is soft, comfortable, made of high-grade material. Does not have any smell on it, you can use it right away. It is deep enough to encircle to the whole mattress.
If the website advertises a discount, you have to confirm which ones are actually discounted and how much. The website advertises discounts that do not even apply to the bed you like just to draw you in.
Hopefully, you will find a great salesman like Gerald and not a **** like the other one. There is a reason for calling.

"My husband and I decided to purchase an air bed due to our difference in size (I’m 5’4, 120 lbs, he’s 6’3, 240lbs). We did our research and decided to go with a six chamber bed. We narrowed it down to either Boyd or Airpedic. Gerald, the gentleman we spoke with at Airpedic was exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous. I began by asking numerous questions about construction, materials, features and Gerald was able to answer all of them and more. I was jotting down notes for my husband but Gerald said he would send it all in an email which was extremely helpful. I was impressed that after he spoke with me, he encouraged my husband and I to NOT purchase a mattress during that initial phone call but to look into the new information he provided and call back with any new questions. We were not pushed into buying the mattress which was a huge relief! I like the fact that the mattresses are made to order and don’t sit in a storage facility until being purchased. The use of medical grade urethane instead of vulcanized rubber was another big selling point. Other beds may claim to have 100 sleep numbers but you would never have it below 10 because it would be nearly fully deflated. All in all, I was overwhelmed by the quality of the mattresses and the professionalism of Gerald. I would highly recommend their beds. "
"I appreciated all the information provided on the website listing exactly what components each bed had and the quality/density of the foam. I have done a lot of research on air bed and Selectabed is more up front about the beds and provides more choices than several competitors. I especially like the options between memory foam vs standard foam. The price is still higher than a standard box spring and mattress but I am counting on improved sleep and longevity. "I communicated with Gerald Misemer during this process. I called at first and then we went into communicating in email, which I prefer. I had many questions and Gerald patiently answered them. He didn't just answer them, he went into depth so I could fully understand. I took his information to my husband and we could make an informed decision on what we want.
There are other air beds on the market now, but what got me interested in the air-pedic is the lumbar air chamber. After I receive it and sleep on it, I will do a complete review.
