"I always loved SmartBargains and purchased many suits, dresses and shoes, so I was disappointed to learn of the "upgrade". While I love the Prada shoes and the price was incredible, I no longer have a relaiable source for affordable career wear. There were only three suits on the website, instead of several pages in my size, and the suits were hundreds of dollars. If I want to buy high end, designer suits and dresses, I can find them anywhere. SmartBargains was an alternative choice for well made, stylist, affordable clothing.

Also, I tried to call the customer service department when I disocvered the change and was on hold for more than 10 minutes and never spoke to anyone. The shoes that I ordered on March 26th have not arrived, which was never a problem with the "old" SmartBargains. I will miss shopping with you."

I received my package and the boots were not as described on the website and I called the customer service regarding the same. My package did not include a return shipping label and I asked the customer service representative and asked for a complimentary return shipping label. The customer service representative explained that she didn't have the authority, which bemused me since issuing the same is a remedial function, nonetheless, the customer representative provided that she would call me back regarding the decision of a manager. That conversation was held three days ago and no return call. And of note, I have the customer service representative my mobile number for contact. So I'll end how I began, I won't continue to purchase from my once favorite online retailer. In a day and age when online retailers are omnipresent, Smartbargains would do well to remember that customer service or lack thereof always makes the difference. "

"what a huge disappointment! I was a big buyer with them for the past 4 years...maybe $5,000/year. I stopped getting automated emails from them months ago, but didn't really think about it until tonight. So I decided to go watch shopping on smartbargains tonight. The site has all sorts of new security procedures in place making it extremely cumbersome. Once I re-signed up, I got to the watches. The listed retail prices were HUGELY overstated, making the supposed discounts marginal. I then tried to look at necklaces, and there was a minuscule inventory, and again, huge discrepancy with actual retail prices. My last stop was handbags, and again, there was a total of 59 bags and the listed retail was incorrect (overstated) by at least 25%. I tried to shop the linens, but that department is gone. I used to be comfortable with expensive purchases from SmartBargains because they ALWAYS stood behind their merchandise and returns were never a problem, even for a $3,000 watch. Based on what I see at the site, the new owners seem less than reputable. they intentionally misstate the suggested retail pricing, so if they hustle with the actual discount they are offering, what else is deceitful?
They were one of my favorite sites, and now they are history for me. Oh well...all good things must end! "
