"I ordered a canon rebel xti. The customer service was great. I placed this order as an over night and I recieved it on time. I recomend using sonic cameras and look forward to purchasing more merchandise in the future. Thank you Nick."
"Sonic Cameras is a switch and bait company. They advertise several camera merchandise items at prices to good to be true. They really don't sell you the item they advertise. They try to get you to by another inferior product for more money, then if you refuse to change your orignal order they send you a email days later telling you the item is out of stock. A word of caution; be careful with this switch & bait company, especailly if you are not camera expert. Good luck. There are good company's out there on the net, just check out "Reseller Rating" next time you buy. I sure will..."
"Bait and Switch artist, I ordered to prime canon lenses, and Nicholas called me to verify my order, then sold me sigma lenses instead, I got off the phone and researched these "NEW" great lenses, and they did not exist. He tried to sell me two 400 lenses for 1800. I called to cancel and he offered to take 100 off, I said no. He didn't even mention my original order for the Canon lenses. I will contact my credit card company again if any charges appear. STAY AWAY! He was rude when I told him he sold me two 400 lenses for 1800. I ordered my lenses with my tried and true site, and will not shop around again. Comfort in knowing you are getting what you shop for is much better than a deal."
"These guys are a fraud. After ordering a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens, I was sent an email asking me to call Sonic to confirm the order. When I did, I spoke with Daniel, who asked me what kind of camera I had. I told him (a Nikon D3 and D300), and he said I should "upgrade" to the better Sigma lens. He told me the Nikon was "old technology" and I'd be much better off with the Sigma. (Absurd!) I asked if the Nikon lens was the latest version, and he replied it was. (I had emailed Sonic earlier to confirm that it was a Nikon USA lens, and the return email informed me that it was.) Within an hour of telling Sonic that I did not want the Sigma lens instead of the Nikon, I got an email from Sonic canceling my order. DO NOT TRUST SONIC. IT IS A BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATION!!!!"
"BEWARE OF SONICCAMERAS!!! Once you place the order online, you then get a call from someone trying to sell you overpriced accessories, including items that should have been included with the camera. If you manage to decline, you are told the camera is out of stock. These guys are BAD, and the review below is a shill. STAY AWAY. You've been warned."
"Stay as far away from this company as you can. They are Scammers! Flat out lies seem to be what they make a living with.
I bought a Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS USM which was quoted at a price of $1100. When I got the call to confirm the sales person started talking about a Metal Mount instead of a plastic Mount (there is no such thing as a plastic Mount) and the Tripod ring and out of nowhere my bill was over 2K. I had him break down the cost and he had added a filter for $349. I told him I do not want that filter and he took it out, finally, after first snapping at me how I "need" it and how he cant give me the hood and carrying case then that he promised before.
I called back later to speak with a supervisor about this persons attitude and the "supervisor" told me he appologizes and actions will be taken .. blabla
Next day I did receive my lens, come to find out that the hood and the carrying case are included after all, and I bet, if I hadnt "bought" the mount and ring, that would have been part of the package anyway.
But they had only refunded $229 for the filters and not $349 as he said was what he originally charged for them. Also there was only a 1 year warranty when I had purchased a "5 year warranty for the price of a 3 year warranty)
I called back to clarify this, speaking to the supervisor again. The "supervisor" argued with me, stating that I would have gotten a special price on the filters and thats why they only refunded that price.... (no mister, you had charged me $349, not $229) and talked about how it changed my package into a retail package with 1 year warranty. That was NOT what I was told. I was told I bought a 5 year warranty. He asked who I talked to and I told him and his reply "yes, that was me and I am the supervisor too"
Oh really? And yesterday you tell me "actions will be taken with that salesperson" when it was the same person all along pretending to be someone else??
He finally snapped that he will send me a 5 year warranty to get rid of me. No refund of the difference between the refunded $229 and charged $349.
Do NOT buy there, no matter how great the deal looks. You end up paying at least the same as from a well known store, or even more but you have to deal with liars and scammers.
I will be doing my research on what can be done against this company since obviously I am not the first to be treated that way. I had originally found good reviews but those must have been faked too, through their site as when you do a search now, all you find is negative. "
"SonicCameras.com should be shut down. Sonic Cameras are a bunch of scam artists, and they're not even very good at it. They annoy the hell out of people. Very deceptive practices that border on being desperate. Outright scumbags, Sonic Cameras. I ordered the Canon EOS 16-355 mm 2.8L lens, then received an email confirming the order. When I called to make changes to my order, the sales person named Mike started selling me on other filters and accessories. He also flat-out lied about specs of the camera, and technical considerations in his attempt to sell me a different camera. Pretty soon, I had lost track of my original order. It's like walking into a darned used car lot. I called again to cancel the order, and was told that they would have to charge $70+ for canceling the order. That's when I blew up, demanded to speak to the manager. Salesperson Mike refused to transfer me to his superior, and that's when I knew that they're operating a scam. These people are very rude, unprofessional and flat out scam artists. I ended up canceling my crddit card because I have a gut feeling that these people are not to bre trusted. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM SONIC CAMERAS, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET SCAMMED."
"I ordered a Canon EOS 40D body, a Canon 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM Lens and a 67mm Three Piece Filter Kit from soniccameras.com. I also was a little surprised that I couldn't find any information where they are based. Today I received an email that I should call them to confirm my order before they ship it. They then wanted to sell me a memory card and a battery for the camera. I was surprised as the standard 40D body usually comes with a battery, but they said it is not included and costs $150 to $200 extra. So I canceled the order. They confirmed that it is canceled and hung up. Afterwards I called my bank to cancel my credit card. In the meantime I have done some more research (which I should have done yesterday) and found that other people warn about this site. This is by far my worst online ordering experience that I have ever made. I thought that I am usually cautious, but obviously I was pretty blind. I will never ever consider that site again."
"Purchased a product from this site and made me very uneasy when they called me to verify my card. I have them what they needed then they tried to sell you everything and telling you about special promotions.
Lastly they indicated I needd another part to make my part work, and finaly decided to just cancell the order.
I cancelled the order and called my credit card to cancel it.
The people were the rudest and not wanting to help you people I have every dealt with.
I have made many online purchases and until now would suggest to never buy anything from www.soniccameras.com.
My rating for this place are negative all and would warn anyone to not believe their prices as they are a way to bait you into selling you more stuff and what you dont want."
"Stay as far away from this place as possible. Bait and switch operation.
I tried to buy a Sony VX-2100, for $999, yes a VERY LOW PRICE. They called me to "confirm" my order and that's when all hell broke loose. They tried telling me that they're "wholesalers" and that the camera didn't come with a lens, viewfinder, or power cable/charger.
Next thing I know, my order was COMPLETELY changed to a different camera and a bill almost triple that of my original order. At this point, I was so frustrated, that I wanted to cancel. I was then told that the shop was now closed and that I couldn't cancel the order until the following morning.
The next day, I received 2 emails, for 2 separate invoices totaling even more than what was quoted the evening before.
When I called Sonic Cameras back to confirm cancellation, they straight up lied to me saying the order was already shipped, and had the nerve to tell me to calm down or he'd "Hang up on my face" (exact words!). I called my credit card company to see if it had been charged yet, and luckily it wasn't. As a precaution, I closed that account to prevent any charges.
I have NEVER had a worse experience with an online shop.
If it's too good to be true......."
