"Appalling service, poor communication, non-existent customer care.

I ordered a keyboard – shown as being in stock - on Saturday 20.09.08, and received an email that day saying that the order had been successfully processed. I expected – led by delivery information on the website – that the item would be despatched on the following Monday. As I had paid for next day delivery, that meant that I would receive the item on Tuesday, 23.09.08 – not an unreasonable expectation. When nothing turned up I checked the website on Tuesday evening and found that the item had not been shipped, and was now listed as being out of stock.

The following day I attempted to telephone Specialtech to ascertain a delivery date for my item. Each attempt was met by an ordinary, domestic, answering service, not stating any company name or number. After several attempts, I left a message with my phone number, but after receiving no reply two hours later I cancelled my order via email.

I received an emailed reply some time later, with no explanation, just telling me that my credit card would be refunded. At no time had I received- any indication from Specialtech that the item was not in stock and was not going to be delivered. Having wasted days on this ‘company’, I ordered elsewhere later in the afternoon and received the urgently needed keyboard (mine was damaged) the following morning.

Despite the website attempting to give the impression that this is a substantial company, the reality would seem to be far different. If there is a proper, established, supplier for the kit you need then leave this one alone.
