""Be very careful. Some of the worst customer service ever! Thank god I made the purchase through Amazon or I would have never seen the refund. Customer service reps will tell you they dont have extensions and customer service supervisors do not follow through, and no, they really won't call you back. Thankyou Sallie and Jim S. You folks are the absolute worst!!! Read the web feedback Im not alone."

"I love Sportsman's Guide. I can't believe all the negative reviews of Sportsman Guide... I am shocked. I have had nothing but excellent service and products from Sportsman's Guide. Their product prices, shipping costs and regular coupons are the best I have seen. They also have no trouble matching prices even if you have already paid for an item they will reimburse you.
Tell me who else will send you 1000 rounds of Ammo with a free shipping coupon????
And returns? Easy as pie. They even pay for return shipping if the item is wrong, not as indicated, etc.
Most people who post reviews are just looking to complain because they got one bad item so they blame the Sportsman's Guide, not the manufacturer. There are too few of us happy customers to balance out the nasties."
"This place = a joke. Two stars is a gift, simply because I eventually got a refund for the wet, moldy, ruined ammunition they pawned-off on me!
Ordered 500 rds of .308 ammo for a weekend of shooting fun. Was described as "sealed in a tin." I received 500 rds of 308 in a tin that looked like it sat on the banks of a river in the middle east, and there was sand and moisture in the tin, along with a bright orange flag on top of the ammo (probably to denote its unusable condition). My invoice stated, "inspected by maria," or something similar. Inspected by my butt!
I picked through ALL 25 moldy boxes of 20 rds each, and decided this stuff was unsafe to shoot. When I first called, the operator said there were no refunds on ammo. When I explained it was UNSAFE to shoot, and that I was making a good faith effort to return it, and would rather contact Visa than risk damaging my hunting rifle, they offered to send slips to return. A few weeks later, I received a refund.
Would not shop here again.

"I find it odd that there are so many negative reviews for Sportsmans Guide. I have been a customer for many years, and I've never had a bad experience with them. Sure, they sell some discontinued merchandise and some military surplus, but I've always been completely aware of what I'm buying, and if there is some sort of flaw with an item, they make sure to explain it in the ad copy. I guess it's nutty to say I love a company, but I do, and couldn't give a flying Wallenda who thinks I'm nutty. I don't work for them, they didn't ask me to write a review, and the only association I have with this fine company is as a customer. I hope they can continue to operate as a going concern for many years to come."
"Customer service does not try hard enough to give their customers a level of satisfaction that is paramount to return customers. I will never shop there again. Their shipping practices and tracking suck."
"Went downhill quick!!!!
Be aware this company sells cheap, discontinued items and the return policy is NON-existant!
They have 'lost' my Green Laser gun sight. Luckily, I have the documentation to proove they received it. As far as this Sightmark 'scope is concerned, it's just an overpriced, crummy Chinese optic. Sightmark will barely acknowledge it's existance. Since it is a 'one off', there is NO warranty!!!
Ththe absolute worst!!!! Sportsman's Guide is still selling this model....."
"I initially joined the Sportsman's Guide to get a discount on some ammo. Their prices are ok, but not the best even with a PAID membership. Shipping is high as well. The most disheartening thing that I've found about the site, is the fact that you CAN'T LEAVE PRODUCT FEEDBACK. Apparently, THEY add "customer feedback", and I rarely find one that gave less than 4 stars on any product. What's more, there are 3 or more 5 star reviews from the same person. The most egregious error on the Sportsman's Guide's part, however, is posting the 5 stat "reviews" of customers who haven't used or haven't even received their product! Really? Here's some examples:
Due to receive this October.
ROBERT, AL 08-13-2011 5 Stars
Lanterns are great - NOT HIGH QUALITY but functional.
JOYCE, GA 03-06-2012 5 Stars
Nice product. I have not had a chance to try it out yet but it looks like it will do the job very well.
RALPH, GA 09-26-2011 4 Stars
Seems like their padding reviews to me...."
"I had wanted to place a review of Sportsman's Guide on their webpage, but I couldn't find the correct area. Since this is the number one Google hit for "write sportsman's guide review," here I am. Briefly, I ordered the Flag and Medal Showcases set (http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=585737) in December 2011 as a planned Father's day gift for my father, following the death of my paternal grandfather. Fast-forward to March 2012 when I finally open the box and realize that the set looks terrible. There are two large, 1/2" ?drill holes? near the top that have been filled with wood putty. There was a large amount of excess wood putty on the lower right-hand mitered joint of the frame as well. I contacted Sportsman's Guide in April, and they were kind enough to send me another set at no cost to myself. They simply asked that I return the original using a prepaid UPS shipping label that they sent to my email. I actually received the new set before I sent the old one back. The new set was beautiful (as most of the reviews on the website suggested it would be) without any significant cosmetic defects or imperfections!
Unfortunately, I don't often buy the kind of merchandise that Sportsman's Guide sells, but I would not hesitate to use them again. In my experience, their customer service rivals that of my true favorite, Amazon"
"I've been a satisfied customer for many years and was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I've never had a problem. I've returned a few items, and that is always quick and easy. Orders are always processed and shipped quickly. Their prices are typically the best available on their items. I've also had good luck with their own brand of Guide Gear."
"They are the worst! Do not use them to order anything! I ordered two canopy tents almost 3 weeks ago and have just now been told after looking up my order that their vendor cancelled the order. They were in stock when I ordered them but now they have ZERO access to any 10x10 canopy tents, are you kidding? Real half-a** website and lame customer service. Also! I almost signed up for their members club to receive a discount, it would have reduced the price by about $20 on my order but then realized it is a annual fee of $30! This was not made clear at all and I almost missed it... crooks!"
"Have been a customer of the Guide for years! Placed an order at least every month for as long as I can remember. Never had any issues or problems, my last order was done on 04/01/2012 and received it in record time."
"I joined their Buyer's Club only to find that I could get the same items at lower prices by shopping around on the internet. I asked for a refund of the membership price, and they wrote me an email saying they would refund the membership price, less the savings on one item I had purchased. The email said it could take up to two billing periods to receive the refund.
Their email was dated 19 Dec 2011, and I sent them an email about a month ago, no response. It is now 8 Apr 2012, and I have not received the refund.
So, why would it take two billing periods to process a refund? It has now been four billing periods since I asked for a refund.
Looks like they are just crooks, and I will begin filing formal complaints against them in one week if they do not refund the membership fee that I have just asked for again today."
"I've ordered many times from SG but very recently I've noticed that SG has been listing items as in stock, taking credit card info and processing the order as normal. Then a few days later I get a notice saying that the item is now back ordered. While they have not charged my card yet I'm getting pretty annoyed by them representing items as "in stock" going through the hassle of the buying process and then finding out later that it could take MONTHS to get my order. The prices on the site are OK but I'm finding pretty good deals on Amazon too and they never fail me. Planning to switch. Recommend you do too (except for shooting supplies, those I'm going to CheaperthanDirt.com for.) "
" I've been a customer of Sportsman's Guide for over ten years. They have some very good deals on many types of merchandise. There have been a couple of times that I purchased items that were not in the condition that was advertised. Customer service was very quick to send a return shipping label and to send a replacement or refund. I have only been shorted on an ammo purchase one time, and that was just recently and by the way the ammo was packed, I think it was shipped to SG with the short count. It was only 20 rounds out of an order for 500 and they immediately credited my account. I'll keep buying items from them as long as they keep offering the great deals."
"Placed an order with a temporary membership given to me by SPM. Used a membership coupon. Had not placed ANY orders with the temporary membership and had not placed any orders in over a year with SPM due to HORRIBLE customer service. Thought I would try them again. For a $12 item, $8 shipping AND they would not honor the coupon and cancelled the order. Time for BBB. They used to have credibility. Look at em now... What a shame!"
