"I would discourage your choice of StarTex Power. The rates are competitive but the customer service and website are poorly designed. For several months they even posted on the site they are having problems with the site and they apologize. You can transfer to the phone automated payment service only to have it disconnect after a 10 minute wait time. I changed to paper billing. Never! Put on auto pay!"

"We are very unhappy with y'all. We had StarTex for 9 years at 3 previous residents. We sold our home and had to move to an apt where your service was not available. Now, 9 months later we are moving into our new hone and wanted to come back too StarTex but were told we had to give a $350 deposits because we couldn't provide a letter showing we had paid our electric for the last 12 months. Seeing that 9 months ago we were with StarTex we didn't, and still do not understand, why we had to pay this $350. 9+ years of our business with your company and that is how you treat loyal customers? We decided to take our business and loyalty elsewhere. Your customer service rep had its call him back twice, he was rude, and when asked for his supervisor he went quiet like he hung up. Then said please hold. The supervisor was also very rude, and eventually transferred us to an executive. All told us it didn't matter about our past service with your company."

"All prior experiences with Customer Service have been good in the past. Please do NOT degrade your Customer Service area as other big companies have done! I can't tell you how frustrating it is to wait 30-40 minutes for a rep to answer the phone. You are doing great so just keep it up!"
