"if you do not purchase one of thier expensive upgrades you can not buy camera. This is a bait and switch company. they write their own reviews on price leap. The owner of this company should be put in jail for all the people they have ripped off. They have been taken off many sites!! Very rude and nasty in you dont want to buy extras. So their bargin isnt really a bargin!"

"Very deceptive in their dealings with me on the telephone. Not truthful about the availability of product advertised on their website. Very pushy in their attempt to sell me something I did not want; then when the owner finally realized I was not going to buy any accessories, he tells me the camera I had already paid for was not available."

"Found this ratings site after trying to order from these crooks. ALL the bad opinions are absolutely true! Lured in by fantastic online price but could NOT order without buying overpriced accessories. Tried several times both online & by phone. Was told the camera doesn't come with battery, memory or warranty...yet item number is same as factory package with ALL these things included. Stargate, Starlite, Wawadigital all operate from same Brooklyn address. Different phone numbers but same recording, same voices and yes same rude treatment. Their 5-star fantastic ratings on other price shopper sites are obviously fabricated."

"This company is nothing but a scam! IF you purchase all of their high priced accessories than you may have your order. If you dont, you are treated extremely rude, told your item is "out of stock",they cancel your order and hang up on you. I dont know of ANYONE who has actually recieved merchandise.So what are they doing with all of this credit card info. on these make believe orders. I say watch out! This may be a scam to aquire your credit card info. for spending purposes or Identity theft. It is alarming that they are allowed to operate the scammy way that they are!!!! "

"They were awful. I purchased a Sony digital camera from them. I then got an email that said the camera would not be mailed until I called them to confirm the order. When I called them, they wanted to sell me an extra memory stick for the camera for $80. I told them I would call them back. I found the memory stick for $40 elsewhere so I told them I didn't want the memory and to just ship the camera. They were very rude and hung up on me before I was even finished talking. Then, I went in that night to check the order and it had been cancelled. When I called them the next day, they said it was because the camera was out of stock. I asked why I wasn't told that when I ordered the camera or when I had spoken to them (3 times) the day before. He just answered that the camera was out of stock and hung up on me. My guess is that they advertised a great deal on the camera with the expectation that they would sell upgrades. When I didn't want the upgrades, it was suddenly "out of stock". I will NEVER buy from them again."

"Ordered, recieved NO confirmation email. Called the following week to check on status of order, obnoxious salesperson tried to force me to buy a new battery by LYING about the standby time on the Sony battery. I knew he was lying due to the fact that I own several other similar models, and the statement that the charge only lasts for 15 minutes is a LIE, and is borderline FRAUD to get customers to buy their overpriced batteries. I finally force him to tell me the status of my order, and he tells me it was CANCELLED because the item was not in stock. That's right, he was trying to sell me a battery for a camera order that was already cancelled. Upon being told that the order was cancelled I was increduous, so I said "excuse me?" He then hung up on me. Worst online purchasing experience in over six years of shopping online. I'm amazed that this company is still in business and that other sites list them with other legitimate retailers."

"This is organized crime. Everything said in the other comments is true, based on my identical experience. I complained to Yahoo (Wawa uses Yahoo's online store services) and Yahoo refused to even respond to my specific complaint. They obviously know their services are being used by gangsters. Yahoo and Wawa should go into business together."

"This business is a crock. When I ordered the digital camera I was told to call them to confirm my credit card. What they do is ask you to call so they can sell you high priced accessories. When I wouldn't buy them, they hung up on me. I did not receive my camera or a confirmation saying that they sent my camera so I called them back and they told me my order was cancelled unless I paid $50 more. They basically have really cheap cameras but won't let you purchase it unless you buy over priced accessories."

"I bought a Sony digital camera from ‘http://store.wawadigital.net/index.html.’ The next day Sam called me back to confirm my order. They tried to sell me accessories for the camera. After I declined several times and told them that I just wanted the camera, they told me my camera was not in stock any more and that they canceled my order. I asked him was it because I did not buy any accessories, and he told me yes and hung up on me. When I tried calling back to complain, they kept hanging up on me and were also very rude. This type of fraudulent activity has happen to other consumers as well. This type of behavior and business is unacceptable and this company should not be allowed to do business. Do NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I have filed a complaint with yahoo stores, Internet Fraud Complaint Center, and with the Better Business Bureau. I suggest you do the same if this happens to you. This company should get what it deserves, a go to jail card. They are very rude and also a bunch of liers. They try to use the old bait and switch routine, BEWARE!!!!!"

"You must call wawa… to confirm your order. When you do, it becomes obvious why - they are trying to add to your order. That is OK except that they were not truthful - said that the Canon SD500 didn't come with a battery - when I pushed back, I was told that, "well, the one that comes with the camera only lasts 15 min." I explained that I didn't want to put an off brand battery in my new Canon camera. He then pushed to sell me a memory card - when I asked a question about the speed of the card, he mumbled something about a 6 week backorder and that my order is cancelled. Then he hung up. Very rude and ignorant about the products he was trying to sell. 7/15 - My opinion has not changed since my order - these guys are the definition of "bait and switch""

"I ordered a camera, flash memory card, battery, and warranty from this company on June 9th. The total was $650. When I received the camera, I realized that the prices I was charged for the accessories were severely inflated and unfair. I contact them and they said return everything for a full refund. I told them I still wanted to keep the camera (since I liked their price on just the camera), but, they said in order to process everything correctly, they need me to return everything. Once they received it all, they would just ship the camera back to me for $380 (the cost of just the camera). They told me to place another order on the internet just for the camera, and, when they got my camera and all the accessories back, they would just ship the same camera back to me.

I next went online and ordered another camera. I did this on June 23.

I called them on June 29th to check if they got my package (the return). They did. I asked them when I would get the camera I ordered and they said,

"You're not getting the camera. We sold it to someone else whose order totaled over $900. Why would I sell it to you when I could sell it to another guy with other items for $900. You're not getting a camera from us."

He then hung up the phone on me.

I called back and told him that he promised to send me back the same camera. He said, "well, I lied. Have a nice day."

So, he basically cancelled my order without authorization, provided terrible customer service, lied, gouged me on prices for accessories, and was simply rude. He was obviously mad that I discovered that his prices were inflated and unfair.

Now I have no camera and I'm leaving for a trip that I wanted use the camera for. Something needs to be done.

" Like another poster here, I placed an order and got a web page stating they would not complete the order until I called them. Upon calling them, I was told that the battery included with the camera would only last 15 minutes, and that they could sell me a 2-hour or 5-hour battery that would make the camera "usable".

Since I had no such information about the camera battery, I told him I wasn't interested, at which he offered the 5-hour battery at the 2-hour price. I again said I wasn't interested, and he then offered to throw in a camera case if I would just buy the battery for another $60. When I declined, he called me a "f...... loser". At that, I said "since you have verbally abused me, you can feel free to cancel my order, if you don't want to do business with me". He said they would apply a restocking fee if they did that.

I then told him to ship the order exactly as I had placed it, and that if I had any problem with it, I would report the business to the BBB. He then hung up.

"BUNCH OF CROOKS!! Reporting to FBI, YAHOO, & BBB for Internet Fraud. Ordered New Canon SD500 on 12 Aug. Had to "confirm" order by phone (messages listed business as either "The Camera Store" or "Sterling Electronics (I thiink)" depending on when I called). Rep attempted to sell me a different battery since "battery that comes with camera only lasts 15 minutes", then tried to sell warranty, because "if the camera arrives broken" it couldn't be returned. I said I ordered a new phone and he indicated it was a refurbished camera. He then stated that my ordered was cancelled. Very rude and condescending throughout call. DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION!!!!!"
