" Tonight I called the toll-free number to confirm my order. Their website says "knowledgeable and polite operators". I did not not get one of these. As I was trying to confirm my order (a gift for my inlaws), he began trying to sell me a memory card. When I said I didn't want it, he began yelling "Cheap-o! Cheap-o! Your inlaws and husband are going to hate you for this!" I was stunned by his unprofessionalism and was waiting to see if he was joking around. He then hung up on me. So I had to call the (not-free as I live overseas) number again and I asked to again check to see if my order went through. This new operator said it would arrive in 6 weeks! I asked why the long shipping time and was told that it takes that long to go to an APO. (I order things via the internet all the time and it normally takes 1-2 weeks) But this is beside the point because I had placed the order as a gift to be sent to my in-laws in Michigan. I pointed that out to him and he said I could ONLY send it to my APO. I asked him why the website allowed me to put in an alternate shipping address if they don't ship to alternate addresses. He became rude and said I had to send it to my APO or cancel. So I cancelled. I am so sorry that I didn't go to this website BEFORE my order!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!"
"Avoid this site!
When you place an order with them online, they make you call in to confirm. Then, they tell you the camera comes with no memory card or accessories, and try to upsell you at huge markup. I told them that I didn't need any more memory cards, and they said, "Ok, the order is cancelled, the camera is not available." I said, "Excuse me?" The responded, "That's right, its cancelled, now go F%@& yourself."
Avoid Them!"
"I found wawadigital offers the lowest prices on cameras. When I ordered online, they immediately called wanting to verify my order. They then pressured me to buy their over-priced accessories. They lied, saying the camera I ordered didn't include a battery, pressured me to purchase a warranty more expensive than the camera. When I said I had a memory card for it, he argued with me. Initially, they said they'd send it. 3 weeks later, I called to ask where it was and was told the camera was back ordered, that if I ordered the US package (it included a case and something else), I could get the camera for $70 more. I said I just wanted the camera, he said,"you'll just have to wait" and hung up on me. When I called back, the guy was extremely rude, he obviously knew who I was before I said anything. "Wadda ya want?" was his greeting. He hung up on me again, so I went to the website to check my order status. They had cancelled my order and not told me.
These guys (guy) are crooks. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
I can't believe they have my credit card information, I can't believe they're allowed to operate as a legitimate business.
I can't believe I didn't google them first and read the legitimate reviews about them. If you read their disclaimers, service policies, about us, etc. on their website they're all over the place about return policies, etc. They claim in one place you have 30 days before you need to return items, another you have 10 days, 7 days & 5 days. They will charge a restocking fee of anywhere from 15 to 20 %. In their disclaimers, they state they don't have to sell for the advertised price, they can use a picture of an item on the website and when you order it, replace it with another brand, and they're not responsible for typographical errors in their advertising!
They have 3 names at least that I found: Stop4 Camera, Stargate, & Wawadigital. If you were duped like me into ordering from them, be sure to keep an eye on your credit card bills. I have not received a bill since this episode, but would not be surprised to see a charge from them.
I would NEVER deal w/ these people - they are completely dishonest. "
"Unfortunately I found out about this site too late! I have a strong suspicion that this company is being run by a minor from their parents basement. I am very good at recognizing voices, and "James" the rep I got had the same voice as anyone I talked to in the company including the automated system. I ordered a Canon EOS Rebel XT kit with 18-55 Lens for $519 before shipping costs. I got an email confirmation and was called by "James" to confirm my order the next day. He asked a few personal questions (inappropriate, but I was cordial), then said he was checking inventory to see if it was in stock, which he said it was (I'm thinking "Good thing, because that's what your website says"). He then states that I did not order a battery for the camera. I stated that the site listed a battery as part of the package. He quickly replied that it did, but that I would only get a max of 30 pictures with the provided battery and I should select a 2 or 5 hour battery to accompany my order. I asked for the prices ($130 and $200 respectively) and was told that I could get the 5 hour for the special price of $179 right now. I asked if I could think about it and call back. Please keep in mind that my wife and I (we were on the phone at the same time at this point) had to keep repeating ourselves (his English was somewhat broken, so we assumed there was a language barrier). I only point this out due to what happened at the end of my experience. After some research following the first call, we found that the standard battery (an NB-2LH) was tested to get 600 pictures on a single charge with no flash and 400 pictures with a flash 50% of the time (again on a single charge). I called back and he asked for my order number. He mentioned the model of the camera I ordered and raved about how great it was and that it was his camera of choice. He then proceeded to suggest that I add the additional battery. I mentioned that he explained this to me before and that I felt the supplied battery would be fine. He again stated sarcastically that it would only get 30 pictures on a charge. I then began to read verbatim the results I found about the testing done on the battery - he then interrupted me and got very nervous, short, and rude. He said well, we have a problem since we don't have that camera in stock anyway and he was going to go ahead and cancel my order for me (like it was a favor). I asked why he had just stated that it was in stock then. He again said my order was canceled and that he was going to also now delete my user account on their website since I obviously had a problem understanding English (please remember my previous statement about his broken English and difficulty understanding simply statements). After this rude statement I started to ask to speak to someone else and was again interrupted. I was told that it only mattered what he said and what he did with my order and my account and that he knew what he was doing as I was dealing with a multi-billion dollar company and proceeded to hang up on me. I am hoping that there is a way to legally and quickly get this website shut down and heavily fined (or jailed) for its fraudulent behavior. Needless to say I have warned my credit card company. Please beware that this company was given 5 star ratings at one of the price-checker type sights (obviously rated only by themselves)."
"Wow thank God for this site. It is so true about this company my question is where is the law enforcement at. With Identity fraud running wild these people meanwhile are collecting vital info credit card numbers!!!! My experiance was the same as everyone who wrote on this site. I ordered the casio Z750 and was told to call and confirm my order so I did and the man asked me if I wanted to buy a battery or memory at an overly inflated price so I said very nicely that I had already had the card and that not now for the battery. He said ok that the camera would be shipped in 10 days. After reading this site review I went to check my order status and it was canceled. I called wawa back and inquired about my order status and he said camera not available and immediatly hung up. Now why is this outfit allowed to operate like this where are the L&I and what is L&I going to do about this and when? this company needs to be shut down because they have a lot of credit card numbers and can do lots of damage and can create a lot of headaches for the banks and consumers.

"It's so hard to believe and yet so true that this is such a pathetic company to do business with. You hear about these disgusting tactics and lies but never think it'll happen to you. Don't waste your time with this company. It's not worth the hassle, the abuse and time you have to take to fix your mistake of ordering from them in the first place."
"Sam, the owner, used profanity and was rude to me. He says he is rude because he spent 15 minutes on the phone with me and that I didn't want to purchase any upgrades he was offering me, just the camera by itself. I told him I just wanted to purchase the camera I ordered online. He tries to scam you by e-mailing you to call them to confirm the order. He then uses his "gorilla" tactics to upsell you with items that are not needed. When I wasn't falling for that, he got upset, told me I couldn't purchase the camera without the upgrades. He lied to me, saying the camera I was buying needed an extra battery, because the one that already comes with the camera, only lasts for 15 minutes. Which I know is not true. I've been shopping around for this camera, so I know it's features and benefits. He didn't want to sell me the camera just by itself. He told me I couldn't return anything from him if I made a purchase. He hung up on me numerous times, claiming I was giving him "high blood pressure". I'm sure you other consumers out there would agree, you just want to make sure the purchase you are about to make is the best one. I think 15 minutes on the phone, is the perfect amount of time to "close" a sale. I work in retail so I understand that. I was shocked to think that an owner of a company, would use profanity and hang up on a customer, an interested customer. I read the reviews and now believe they were fraud. If a simple 15 minute conversation would irritate him, I'm sure there is someone else out there who has been on the phone for longer than that trying to decide to make a purchase or not. I've reported this company to the Better Business Bureau and if you have had an unpleasant experience, I believe you should do the same!"
"I would give you an invoice # but I would have to receive the product to do that and my order had been cancelled for no reason.
I found this website and the price for a canon powershot sd400 was $219 which was too good to be true-- well it was. FOr some reason instead of reading reveiws of this company before I made the purchase I did it after The problem was that Irec'd an email for me to call the company to confirm my order, well after reading everyones reviews I noticed that they try to sell you overpriced items, I thought I would turn it on them and tell them that I was purchasing the item for a friend and that I once I rec'd the item he could call and orderall of the items that he would want, well the csr then got rude with me and then tried to hang up I called back and was wondering when I should expect my camera to come in and he gave me some phony 10 days-- about 20minutes later I checked online and they had cancelled my order. This place is horrible, I cannot see how they do any business, I mean the guy was trying to sell me a memory card for 90 that Ihad bought at walmart for 13.99 CROOKS!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!"
"placed order on line . 30 mins latter got a call from sales man trying to get me to buy more stuff pushy salesmen when you dont buy other stuff like memory card batterys. they cancel your order. this site should be shut down and the owners should be put in jail."
"Product: CANON REBEL XT:First things first. Checked out the product online than called to verify that the product was in stock and ready to ship.. Salesman said "YES." That's all I needed to know. I Continued online to order the camera. Everything went through smoothly until an email was sent to me asking me to call the company to confirm my order. I called, spoke to sales rep. He first started off congratulating me for my purchase, claimed that he had the same camera and wanted me to get the best out it.. so he started suggesting all kinds of add ons that I really needed.. I denied any additional products and told him that I just wanted what was listed with the camera. He apparently got upset, told me that the camera was out of stock and that he canceled my order and than hung up on me all in one breath. What a JACK@$$. I called back and spoke to the same guy and asked him if he was aware of his attitude and customer service? He told me that he cancel my order and hung up on me again.. I called one last time to speak to a manager or someone in charge.. turns out the same guy was the manager.. I got a total of 3 hang-ups at this point.. Buyers beware.. You're dealing with Shady people here who have no respect for their customers.. Online Orders with credit card verification and what nots should have need for call-ins.. They do this just to add more to your bill... What a bunch of scams Your better off paying a few hundred more to a company that will treat you better in my opinion. To Wawa Digital... Great J-O-B with your customer service.. seriously..."
"This store rates a negative zero. This store is a sham. They advertize to have the lowest price by removing all the accessories and the warranty from the products. I ordered a Konika Minolta camera and for $10 more other stores included all the factory standard accessories and warranty.
When the web order is placed you have to call to confirm the order and that is when you find the camera has no battery, no memory card, no neck strap, no charger etc., all the items that are included with the camera by the manufacturer. Net result is the actual cost is one of the highest on the web.
I cancelled my order.
"
"placed order for sony dcr-dvd403 handycam, reponded to their e-mail to phone them to confirm order. Asked if advertized price including factory accessories, it was confirmed that it did. He tried to sell me a 999.00 package that had a better battery and waranty. I only wanted camera and he said that I would receive it Dec 1st, thur. Called today wed Nov to see if I would receive shipment Thur, was told I would not receive it, it wason backorder for 2 weeks, the only stock was camara's with better battery's and waranty. I asked why did they tell they had it in stock and would ship? He said I don't have time for this I and canceling your order!
"
"Same song, different verse.
Order was cancelled after refusing to buy other items. Should have checked reviews before buying, which I usually do.
Guess if it's too good to be true it usually is.
Will buy same item from another vendor.
"
"BEWARE, THIS company baits and switches
The customer service of this company is diabolical! I placed Sony Cybershot DSC-W7 digital camera order online $245 + 6% shipping, Wednesday night and got email confirmation that I needed to call back to confirm order (which seemed unnecessary). and then someone ("James") called me on Sunday to confirm order, and left message since I was not home. When I called back number the first thing they said was "what's your order number"; when I gave it to them they said nothing and immediately put me on hold. A minute later he confirmed my order and also wanted to sell me $90 128MB memory card, (however, I paid $30 at BestBuy for a 512MB card Since I told him I could find cheaper card elsewhere he seemed annoyed. When I told him I didn't want the memory card he hung up.
Monday I checked the order online, only to find it was cancelled.
I called them, was left holding for ten minutes, their dollar.
I was then told the cameras are out of stock and will be 7 weeks delivery.
They are now advertising the camera $10.00 cheaper at $235, the ad says it is in stock.
This company needs to be prosecuted."
"I did not want to receive the order from Wawa Digital because I discovered that their pricing practices were deceptive and not open. So I immediately cancelled the order on line and orderd the exact same item at a lower overall cost from another more reputable vendor.
Then I received an order confirmation e-mail from WaWa Digital (after the order had been cancelled), and responded to it that I had cancelled the order.
Then I received the phone call from WaWa digital where I politely stated that I had cancelled the order, gotten the item from a competitor at a lower price, but then was threatened abusively with an order surcharge. An order surcharge is not listed as part of one of their fees. However, based upon the deciptive practices and telephone threat, I made sure that they could not charge my credit card (they already had the credit card number).
It I had received the product shipped by WaWa digital, I would have been charged a restocking fee, even if I had refused it.
Threatening action on the telephone, and order surcharges, deceptive pricing practices need to be made known to other unsuspecting shoppers. That is what you are all about I hope.
I was contacted on the telephone by one of your representatives tonight around 6:00 PM Eastern Time after canelling my order at wawadigital.com. He had an offensive attitude and treated me rudely when I explained that I cancelled the order and why. WaWadigital.com misrepresented the advertised price in their web advertising.
This order was terminated before receiving the confirming e-mail and terminated again in less than one hour after receiving the confirming e-mail.
The representative stated that he was going to charge me a fee for cancelling the order. In WaWadigital.com's published policy (This is documented as well.) I see no fee charge for order cancellation. And most certainly you have not shipped the order as yet --- so there should be no fees charged.
The way the wawadigital.com representative handled me smacks of consumer fraud including misleading advertising, cancellation fees when no product is shipped, and abusive telephone calls."
