"I am very displeased with the lack of any customer service on this my first order with Suplus Computers. I have been trying to get shipping status on a urgent by order leaving phones messages and sending several emails with no response at all. This is not how how to run a business if you want any repeat orders. I would not recommend this vendor based on their poor buyer feedback. Will update comments if I ever receive my order or and response to my inquiries. "

"Good morning;
I get the feeling the only time you remember that I am a customer is when you send out your email. The website does not allow log in to check my order history or save shipping information. Every order is like I am a total stranger.
Price is your only draw and your shipping is higher than most online vendors.

"Ordered 3 NETGEAR WAP's from these folks about two weeks ago.
I sent 2 emails asking when they would ship.

No reply.
My user login says they were shipped via UPS,but the address shows as being delivered to Campbell,Ca. (where their store is).



They say you can call their store ,but the only phone number they have is for a fax.

I live 20 miles from these folks and am going to take a drive to see what's going on.

"I think that the price was very good, the order process was quick and efficient, and I received the product when I expected it. There are 2 issues, however, that detract from a totally satisfying experience with surplus Computers.

Shipping was quoted at $6 for ground on Pricewatch, but I was charged $8.40 on my invoice. I noted this on the comments section of the order form, but have received no response on this item. The second issue involves their packing. I specifically requested that they use no styrofoam peanuts as packaging material, yet the merchandise was surrounded by peanuts. While both of these quibbles are small, and do not seriously detract from the otherwise good experience, one has to wonder just how responsive Surplus Computers is to their customer's wants.

"Purchased 2 items:
1 Aitech Wavewatcher TV-PCI TV Tuner care/actually shipped OEM mis-labeled Net-TV 98 card which Aitech states will NOT work on it's website. Cannot get it to work. Because of return policy, I cannot exchange it for an item which will work.

I asked several times for assistance to get it to work and haven't received a helpful reply.

Since I knew, before the purchase, that Aitech advised to NOT purchase the item I was forewarned and should have known that anyone purchasing this item would be dissatisfied.

I emailed the pre-sales support and asked if it worked. The reply was that they hadn't had any complaints.

I think that consumers need to understand that if they think something is too good to be true it probably is.

Surplus Computers knew before hand that Aitech advised not to purchase and that they were mislabeled. The should have advised the customers that these facts were true. They wouldn't have sold many, but at least they would have been honest.

I will probably buy from them in the future, but will be more cautious.

PriceWatch.com has customer ratings and comments for each of their vendors on their site. Almost none of their customers are happy with them.

This company is not a company selling new goods they will stand behind. It is a different kind of vendor. As long as customers are forewarned, they stand a chance of being please with their purchase.

Shipping was prompt and on schedule.

"I've been a casual buyer from Surplus Computers for 3 years or so, and would probably buy a lot more stuff if the shipping and handling costs didn't add up so quickly. When like items are available from a company that charges less for shipping (Computer Geeks, for example), I order from them to save a few bucks.

For example, Surplus Computers sells a nice ATX case for $25.99, and shipping is $17.45 (total ($43.54 for a $26 item -- turns me off). Computer Geeks now has an ATX case on special for $19.95, and shipping is $14 (total $33.95). Speaking for myself, your shipping and handling costs have sent me elsewhere for MANY items.

One redeeming quality of Surplus Computers, however, is that many items are unique and not widely available elsewhere. Consequently, I'll probably remain a casual buyer for items not commonly available.

"so far so good i've had good luck with surplus computers I've got 4 scsi hardrives from them 3 of them used and no problems! i've lowlevel formated them several times with out looseing any of their capacity my 47gig seagate scsi is my pride and joy and I save all my drivers and software on it with out worry! my last purchase was an hp camera. I love it. "

"With my last order I filled in the free gift box (freesportwatch). It showed up on the order sheet. But when my order arrived no free gift. I sent a email and never even got a answer. "Classic bait and switch- the advertised one product (an HP camera with 16MB flash card) and ship one with nothing, once the order screen changes over to the actual product.

The product arrived in a plastic bag instead of a box. No instructions. No manual. No warranty informatin.

It did look new, but I don't recommend them. They seem to have a horrid return policy as well.

"The worst. Still no RMA response for two weeks. Contact sales department, feel bad enough they have to hear me mouth off every day. Simply the package I recieved was defective, I was charged for items that are considered "back-ordered", still no credit and resolution to the monitors I purchased from them. Overcharged for 2 monitors at $139 last year that was still not credited. Any big shot lawyer want to take a Class Action case?"

"I ordered 5 computer components from Surplus Computers' website. I received an order confirmation email the same day. I had to wait 10 days to receive the package. The shipping distance between Surplus Computers and me is short. During this 10 day period I emailed, called, and left voice mails for the shipping dept. Surplus Computers would not respond to any of my attempts at contacting them. I received good computer components at a cheap price. The slow order processing and lack of customer service are disturbing."
