"I have made multiple purchases and have been very satisfied with the initial service, price and products provided. My only complaint is their RMA policy and procedure. Filling out the RMA request form and returning it via e-mail is very difficult and the fact that they will not cover return shipping costs for defective merchandise is a real hardship on the consumer. My experience was having to return a defective 10.2GB hard drive. It took seven working days, and two e-mail requests for a RMA number. I then had to pay $17.50 in return shipping costs to get a $35 credit. I shudder to think what the cost would have been if I had to return a defective monitor. I feel that return shipping charges for defective merchandise should fall on the sellers shoulders, not the consumers. "

"This is my second purchase from Surplus Computers. I ordered the IBM 9.1 GB 10K rpm SCSI hard disk for 29.99 and it shipped the day of my order! However, I was dissapointed with the unit because of the shrill noise that this disk emits. It is certainly fast though! I should have done more research as this is a ubiquitous by-product of a 10K RPM drive. I was planning on using this drive as my main boot disk, but for now it is un-mounted and will be used only as a backup. Now I know why one doesn't find 10K RPM drives at Best Buy or Circuit City. "

"I have made several purchased from SurplusComputers in the past. I have had good luck. I purchased a scanner, some scsi disks a computer monitor. This purchase was of a Dell refurbished monitor. I had ordered an SGI monitor which was our of stock. I took some time from them to notify me that it was not available. I then switched to a Dell monitor which wasn't what I really wanted but it is a nice monitor and it has worked well for me with my dual headed Matrox video card. I would buy from them again but they need to work hard to insure that items listed on the web site are actually available.
